Just wondering how it's going for you, what day you're on and what you're doing today.

I'm not really sure which day I'm on - iffy throat for an hour Monday (which isn't uncommon for me), had a really bad night Tuesday even/night, didn't feel great Wednesday, but only tested positive Thursday. I've done what could be a day 5 test and T line is brighter than C line. I have times when I can function, other times I just can't do or cope with anything. My symptoms are mild compared to DH who's really struggling - he had an iffy throat like me Sunday evening but didn't test positive until Tuesday. He's struggling to swallow, very red eyes, lots of sneezing and coughing still - he's done for.

We're both up (can't sleep anyway). The limit of our day is tv, internet and reading a couple of pages here and there. Bathroom needs cleaning and I can see bits and dust everywhere, but can't face that!
@BethDutton It’s so odd that so many of us test positive several days after starting to feel unwell. How’s your chest feel? Mine feels a bit heavy but it could be anxiety!
My son still isn't testing positive on lft. He had a pcr on Wednesday as he had a fever, that came back positive.

mulberrybag5 · 05/02/2022 20:09

@shouldistop oh wow! They do seem iffy. How is he feeling?

BethDutton · 05/02/2022 20:09

Hi mulberrybag5 my chest is fine. I sleep (here and there) sitting up. It’s more my nose, head and throat and generally feeling blah. Not able to do much without tickly cough or sneezing.

Your chest is likely to be omicron related unless you are stressed? My DS is asthmatic but triple jabbed and his asthma is under control. Grateful for that.

I am reading Enid Blyton on my kindle at night when I can’t sleep, all I can handle! It’s comforting and calming.

Workinghardeveryday · 05/02/2022 20:13

Day 11 for me.
Day 1, sore scratchy throat - negative line, then barely there line later.
Day 2, sore scratchy throat, tired, feeling crap.
Day 3, feeling super crap, wanted to go to bed, disoriented, feeling out of it.
Day 4, in bed all day, feeling ‘ill’, slight cough, runny nose, cold feeling, shattered but can’t sleep, slept badly in the night.
Day 5/6/7/8/9 in bed all day every day - very very unusual for me. Never give in to bugs etc. Zero energy. Anytime I try to get up to eat, wash feeling very dizzy and much worse.

Throughout feeling confused, no memory, dizzy, fatigue that sleep doesn’t help. Making a cup of tea is such an effort

Workinghardeveryday · 05/02/2022 20:14

Forgot, day 2 lft positive, day 3 pcr positive

Fine now, just 2 days of fever and aches. Bouncing off the walls for the past 2 days with cabin fever 🤣

BethDutton · 05/02/2022 20:18

Workinghardeveryday oh no, poor you that does sound awful. Are you on your own?

Anyone feel tremendously better day 5??

mulberrybag5 · 05/02/2022 20:18

@BethDutton ooooo I loved Enid as a child and my 5 year old has just discovered her!! I think I’ll download some famous 5 tonight! Yep I think chest is covid. The only other symptom I’ve got is a bit of a runny nose and a bit of a foggy head.

@shouldistop I’m hoping my two don’t catch it! Given I was negative tho and I wasn’t staying away from them until I got a positive it’s unlikely I think!

mulberrybag5 · 05/02/2022 20:19

If I count Tuesday as day 0 then day 5 is tomorrow so will see @BethDutton

shouldistop · 05/02/2022 20:22

@mulberrybag5 the rest of us haven't caught it so far and I slept with ds1 for the 2 nights that he was feeling awful. There's still time though I know. Ds2 has an absolutely stinking cold (confirmed not Covid) just now too which is fun.

SaberToothKitten · 05/02/2022 20:22

Day 1, strange scratchy cough
Day 2, headache, mouth and gums really sore (weird), exhausted and went to bed
Day 3, in bed. Cough, sore throat, exhausted.
Day 4, cough cough cough. Slightly less knackered but still in bed by 8.30. Breathless if I do anything at all. Very fuzzy headed.
Day 5, slept all afternoon, fuzzy headed and breathless. Still testing strongly positive.

mulberrybag5 · 05/02/2022 20:25

@shouldistop what day are you on? If you’re 3/4 days after I think your prospects drop massively?

shouldistop · 05/02/2022 20:28

@mulberrybag5 were on day 4 officially but really he started feeling iffy the day before his fever started so it could be day 5.
I was wondering whether the fact he's not testing positive on LFT means he's maybe not shedding a high viral load so isn't very contagious. I'm not clever enough to figure it out though Grin

BethDutton · 05/02/2022 20:28

We shall see tomorrow! I have been reading St Clare’s/Mallory Towers and Naughtiest Girl. Not sure I am up for Famous Five level excitement and danger, only just coping with detentions and upcoming play auditions Grin.

mulberrybag5 · 05/02/2022 20:31

@BethDutton Mallory towers! Oh you’ve convinced me! Looooved that as a child!

mulberrybag5 · 05/02/2022 20:32

@shouldistop are you testing ever day too? I think you’re a day or 2 max until you’re out the woods x

ScrumptiousBears · 05/02/2022 20:32

Tested negative Thursday morning but had sneezes during the day. Thursday night I had a headache I couldn't get rid off. Tested positive Friday morning and by lunchtime I had aches and pains and my skin was sore everywhere. Still got a headache that pills don't touch plus a snotty nose. No cough yet but feel like death. My poor kids have had their iPads all day.

mulberrybag5 · 05/02/2022 20:33

@ScrumptiousBears hope you feel better soon, how old are your children? X

shouldistop · 05/02/2022 20:38

Yes, dh and I testing every day. Ds2 is only 1 so he's had a pcr for his cough but not daily lateral flows as not required in Scotland.

LSLLM · 05/02/2022 20:45

I’ve had a sore chest since Wednesday but didn’t test positive until Thursday. When was day 1? 🤣 I’m so confused

I have a heavy chesty cold and I would kindly like the thickly cough at night to fuck right off.

mulberrybag5 · 05/02/2022 21:04

@LSLLM dsy 0 was Wednesday I think x

Snoopsnoggysnog · 05/02/2022 21:10

Also have a heavy chest here but mainly just getting very bored. Have been pretty much at home since DD tested positive last Sunday and then I did on Thursday.

I love Enid Blyton too, I’ve got loads from my childhood in a box - my DC aren’t interested but I might dig them out for tomorrow- it’s going to be a long boring Sunday!

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 05/02/2022 21:14

I'm day 9. Have tested negative now. But free tomorrow anyway.

I had to go to A&E on Thursday (111 sent me) because they suspected a clot on my lung. I hadn't, but had got quite a bad infection in my throat and lung. So I'm on antibiotics and steroids. I've had laryngitis for the whole time, today is the first day I have been able to speak above a strained whisper for a week. My throat had been so so sore. I called 111 (or was made to my dp) as I was extremely breathless and I had coughed up phlegm with blood in it. It's not been good, but thankfully looking better today

itsjustnotok · 05/02/2022 21:23

Tested positive Monday. Felt off so I went to bed and that’s where I stayed until this morning. My chest hurts and I keep having coughing attacks and I’m so tired. A load of washing and I fell asleep for 2 hours! Still had a faint line today. Work want me back Monday but it’s a 16 hour day and I’m struggling with a bit of washing!

Partey · 05/02/2022 21:28

I tested positive Monday 24th Jan. Symptoms were severe aches and pains and a bad head, general tiredness. This lasted a week until I tested negative.
In the week since my cough has developed, to the point I can’t stop! Haven’t slept for days, a dry continuous and all consuming cough.
I’ve already had two weeks off work, I feel really bad but I don’t think I can go back Monday either, it’s totally wiped me out Sad
