Work saying I'm good to go in

What's the rules on faint positive lft and working?
I messaged my supervisor yesterday evening letting her know I had a faint positive on a lateral flow after feeling a little ropey (I'll attach the faint positive).
I then did another lft immediately after to double check and it was negative.
I did a pcr this morning and sent off as I have symptoms.
I've just asked what the process is in regards to work and I've been told I'm ok to go in until I get a positive.. I'm assuming they mean pcr unless they don't think my faint positive is a real positive.

What are your thoughts? I thought I had to isolate until pcr results but it's constantly changing so I have no idea

@Oxborn
Hey, yeah positive 😣
Trying to stay away from my 11 month old as much as possible. I'd hate to pass it onto him 😔 good news is I'm feeling a lot better than I was x

My son had a faint positive did pcr that day and positive only had headache and tired and slight sore throat
If i photograph the LFT you can't see the line only in person
We did another which showed negative so went for pcr to confirm as mixed messages

Ah bless you glad your not feeling to bad, do rest though. See all those people saying they couldn’t see anything need to get to spec savers 😂 or they could end up super spreaders. Good for you not giving in to your employers their not understanding the rules or just not caring could of resulted in a lot more positives

liveforsummer · 23/01/2022 13:57

I can see the line, my daughters was the same and her PCR was positive

liveforsummer · 23/01/2022 13:59

@LettertoHermoine

You would need a microscope to see that as positive.
It's like a pregnancy test though. If there's a line it's positive. Doesn't matter how feint the line is there wouldn't be one at all if there was no virus
liveforsummer · 23/01/2022 14:00

And yes you should isolate until PCR results day otherwise. Your manager is wrong

PlantWitch · 23/01/2022 14:02

Glad to hear you are feeling brighter. Ignore some of the comments on here, god forbid someone should try to avoid spreading a nasty virus around Hmm hope little one manages to avoid it

liveforsummer · 23/01/2022 14:03

@Pootle40

Who came up with the idea of a 'faint positive' on Covid tests? When did we decide they were like pregnancy tests. There is no line
But they are just like pregnancy tests in that respect. Why have you decided otherwise when all the information says different
