I feel myself and family are the only people on earth that hasn't had Covid, everyone I know has had it!

I haven't but dc both have and nearly all my colleagues. Guess it's a matter of time

RowsOfHolly · 31/12/2021 10:37

I haven’t had it. 1 Dc has had it.

No one in my siblings’ families have had it.

My friend is a teacher who has worked face to face throughout, as has her teacher DH, they have 3 school / Uni aged kids, only one Dc has had it, the rest of the family have been Covid free. London.

89redballoons · 31/12/2021 10:43

Not so far as I know, although 2 year old DS has had a couple of bad colds that could have been. We've done PCRs on him but I'm not confident we got a very good sample because he is a wriggly toddler.

DH does LFTs twice weekly for work and has never had a positive.

We're both triple jabbed without any underlying conditions, so either we've been really lucky so far and not picked it up or DS has had it but neither of us has caught it or we've both been asymptomatic.

eurochick · 31/12/2021 10:43

As someone said upthread, the majority haven't had it. There have been 12m cases out of a population of 68m (approx).

Kshhuxnxk · 31/12/2021 10:45

I only?know 9 that have had it and my family isn't in that.

IncompleteSenten · 31/12/2021 10:46

Nobody in my household has. I know several people who have, including my brother in law.

I expect it's just a matter of time though. I'm dreading it because my health problems mean I'll probably be one of the ones it finishes off. If not, I'll end up with long covid because that's just the way my bloody luck works.

Icequeen01 · 31/12/2021 10:48

My DSIs and her DP haven't had it but then they live out in the back of beyond, they can both work from home, have food delivered and have no small children. On the other hand I work in an SEN school, no social distancing or masks and have just got over my second lot of Covid.

Nidan2Sandan · 31/12/2021 10:49

Really??!!

There are over 55 MILLION people who still havent had it. More people than have had it.

Ivchangedmynameforthis · 31/12/2021 10:49

I havnt, but my whole household have all at the same time

pradavilla · 31/12/2021 10:53

Most of my family have not had it, same with friends. Although I think we have it now. Had cold since Monday but lost my smell and taste last night so going for a test today.

YonderTweek · 31/12/2021 11:14

Most people I know haven't had it, weirdly. My son had it last month and me or my husband didn't catch it. I thought I would have got it a thousand times by now but no.

MothExterminator · 31/12/2021 11:26

DH has never tested positive, not have I. Both triple jabbed now.

DH takes zero precautions (don’t get me started, we have had a number of discussions on this), everyone in his office has had it, he went to a funeral recently, most people there got it. He keeps testing negative.

DS had Covid a couple of weeks ago, slept in my bed. I tested negative and no symptoms.

I do wonder if maybe we had it asymptomatically a couple of weeks before DS got it though. DD had a third of the class off with Covid (and many more children in other classes), she had no symptoms and we didn’t test. A week or so later DS tested positive, one of 4 in his entire school, only one in his class,he walks to school, no idea where he possibly could have got it. I tested him as he suddenly developed a light cough, no temperature.

Guacamole001 · 31/12/2021 11:31

Neither myself nor 16 yr old ds had it in past 2 years. To our knowledge.

thismeansnothing · 31/12/2021 11:34

I've not..... As far as I'm aware.

I work in a supermarket and most of my team have had it, so I'm amazed I haven't. Unless I had it very early doors and was symptomless. Who knows

Katie517 · 31/12/2021 11:45

I haven’t and neither has any of my close or extended family or my close friendship group. I have a child in nursery, both husband and I have been out at work in offices, I go to gym classes, husband plays a team sport, socialise a lot, have been abroad twice this year, also to lots of weddings, baby showers, christenings etc. and nothing; we also live in an area that has had pretty consistent high case rates.

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 31/12/2021 11:47

I've not. None of my family have either. 2 children, one in nursery. We are all unvaccinated. Loads of the children in their classes have been off with covid. I wasn't aware at the time when speaking to a few of their mums in very close proximity either. The mums tested positive a few days later after I spoke with them so I dodged the bullet there. I am very anxious about getting covid (not so much omicron, but the previous variants), so I always wear a mask indoors, throughout the pandemic. I was sure I'd have got omicron by now, as we've been out with the children doing lots of stuff over the holidays - rides at funfairs, busy (way too busy for my liking) shopping malls with a lot of people not wearing masks, crowded restaurants, etc. My daughter and I both had mild colds at the beginning of Dec, but kept testing negative.

MajorCarolDanvers · 31/12/2021 11:58

I haven't, nor anyone in my family and I only know few people who have had it.

Daisy829 · 31/12/2021 12:00

Not had it, neither have lots of family members and friends. However I think my luck is about to run out as 3 people I’ve seen over Xmas have since tested positive.

MajorCarolDanvers · 31/12/2021 12:00

Statistically most people haven't had it.

AlfieandAnnieRose · 31/12/2021 12:04

My friend who is unvaccinated has not had it

WhatdramathisChristmas · 31/12/2021 12:10

Neither me nor DH have had it. We do antibody testing for research and only have antibodies from vaccination. My DGD had Covid and sneezed and wiped snot on us and hugged and kissed us and we didn't catch it.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 31/12/2021 12:14

No one in my immediate family have had it. Dd is in Year 11 and Ds is out all the time.

Feels a bit like the Sword of Damocles.

3 of my friends haven’t had it. 2 work in a school.

Mocara · 31/12/2021 12:31

@Hardtofindafreename

Unless the extremely bad cold I had in Dec 2019 was covid, none of my family have had it. We've all worked through last 2 years in variety of educational and medical jobs, working with young people, etc, tested regularly and none of us had it. Same for my elderly parents and all my siblings and their families. Wonder how much genetics is part of this?
This is us to the letter including me being unwell Dec 19. Also sons in college and high school using public transport , meeting with friends ,cinema ,travel abroad and extensive hospital appointments and treatments both localy and in London.
Xenia · 31/12/2021 12:33

I don't think I have had it. My son thinks he did in 2020 at university but there were no tests when his friends had it. He lived very closely with one flat mate when she had it so either had it then without symptoms or did not get it then. My other son who lives here has not had it either.

However others in the family both double vaxxed and non vaccinated have had it. I don't mix much with others which is also why I have not had even a cold for a few y ears either and only seen a doctor for 7 minutes in 15 years!!! I am very very lucky.

If you are 'very anxious' why are you not vaccinated?
