Has anyone NOT had Covid?

I feel myself and family are the only people on earth that hasn't had Covid, everyone I know has had it!

OP posts:
Etinoxaurus · 31/12/2021 16:06

Nope. Unless I had it asymptomatically in February 2020 when I isolated after a contact who ended up on a ventilator.
I’ve tested every 48 hours since January 2021.

Etinoxaurus · 31/12/2021 16:09

And I work with at least 40 people who’ve tested positive, several twice (HR role)
I’m conscientiously mask wearing & triple jabbed.

Polly99 · 31/12/2021 16:23

We possibly had original covid at the end of Feb 2019 (felt a bit funny after visiting the Tyrol) but that's before testing so we will never know.
I've been in lengthy meetings with people who subsequently tested positive, one of whom was coughing, to the pub, to parties and concerts and my kids are at school. My husband sat between two people who developed covid in the first wave and still none of us has been positive - although maybe he gave it to them given our Tyrol visit!! We have had colds etc, and of my kids currently has an impressive cough, but we have all always tested negative for covid.

In my family circle…

Had it: DH and me; one of my sisters and her DH; 2 out of 8 DN’s; one of DH’s nieces plus her DH, 1 DD and presumed 2nd DD (baby)

Not had it: DM, 2 of 3 DS’s plus their OH’s, 6/8 DN’s, DH’s DSis and her DH and other DN.

So that’s 10 who have and 14 who have not. There haven’t been any transfers between households, so 5 households have had it and 8 have not.

Abraxan · 31/12/2021 17:36

@Abraxan

Within my family most people haven't had it. Some have had antibody tests to see if they've had it asymptotically and don't have virus acquired antibodies, only vaccine acquired ones.

I had it last October.
Dh and 19y dd haven't.
Dd has been in close contact with it several times through me and her university and home friends, but has not yet caught it.

My parents and MIL haven't, neither has my sister, BIL, 8y nephew, brother or his fiancé. One niece has had it but the other hasn't. Their mum got,it but my bil didnt.

With friends, friends inc intact with us when I got it didn't catch it then. One friend has since had it recently but his wife and two daughters didn't. Another friend's dd has it now but she, husband and teen dd haven't got it yet. Another set, wife caught it earlier this year but not husband. A few friend couples who neither have had it.

At school almost 80% of our staff have had covid, most last autumn term. One or two have had it this year. Nine have had it a second time as yet.

Friend, who has covid positive dd, has tested positive on LFT today. She can't yet book a PCR as none available. She thought she had tonsillitis as same symptoms as a previous infection.
user1493222657 · 31/12/2021 18:35

Not had it yet..feel like 2022 is going to be the year!

NoFitStateMum · 31/12/2021 23:08

No, neither DP or I caught it when both our lads had it at the same time back in the summer. We were both a few weeks out from being double jabbed (2 x AZ each) at the time and LFTed daily through the 10 day isolation and did PCRs as advised on day 1 and 8.

WhiteChocTwix · 31/12/2021 23:25

We've successfully avoided it for 2 years. Colleague msg me today to say another colleague came into the office yday with it. FFS. DF in the care home, which colleagues know 😕 pissed off with ppl coming in dismissing symptoms, our company doesn't care if we WFH. Presentism at its finest. 😔

Essemce · 31/12/2021 23:30

Nope not had it and I test 3 lfts a week and 1 pcr and I have been around cocid for 18 months as work in health care
Weird really

MilitantFaucet · 31/12/2021 23:31

🙋‍♀️

Youhaveyourhandsfull · 31/12/2021 23:34

Never even tested for it. I know ‘of’ people that have had it but nobody I know really.

Skyechasemarshalontheway · 01/01/2022 00:49

Me and my 2 boys haven't had it. My husband and daughter has and we shared a room plus we were very close contact to a omicron varient carrier. I am hoping we are just immune or at some stage had it asymptomaticly and didn't know.

DerektheGoose · 01/01/2022 01:16

Me - but DH tested positive yesterday.
So far I'm negative 🙏

noblegreenk · 01/01/2022 01:26

Me, DH and DD3 haven't had it. My Dad's ECV so we've always been really careful as I'm the only person he sees. Saying that though, I still go to work, do shopping etc. But I have avoided most social events since the start. We went out for dinner this evening - it was the first time I'd been out socially since early september.

Turnitupto11 · 01/01/2022 01:30

I haven't, nor my partner, mum or my three kids. None of my friends either, although I do know people who've had it and one elderly person who died of it.

Glitterblue · 01/01/2022 02:24

DD has, DH and I haven't, nor have our parents or my very elderly grandma (touch wood!) I'm praying I don't get it in the next week because I'm due to have surgery (as long as it's not cancelled!)

VintageCookbook · 01/01/2022 07:32

Never (though, I think I could well of had it in early 2020 as I was wiped out with an awful 'flu').

DH has never had it despite being a very close contact at one point.

None of my in-laws have, despite MIL working in a school.

And neither of my parents have.

MaryShelley1818 · 01/01/2022 07:48

Me, DH, DS and DD haven't had it (tested quite a few times but of course could have missed an asymptomatic infection).
Neither of my parents have had it.

I'm a SW in and out of people's houses/schools and both our children are at nursery.

Pretty much everyone else I know has had it.

blessedbethechocolate · 01/01/2022 08:03

Me. In my house only my dd has had it.

Halloweenrainbow · 01/01/2022 09:00

I know several vulnerable over 80s and I have family in 'keyworker' rolls and none of them have knowingly had it. They're all vaccinated, wear masks, keep a bit of distance which I think is really working despite the negative feelings of many about these measures. I've not had it so far despite having nursery and primary age DC although I expect this to change when they go back next week Confused.

PumpkinPie2016 · 01/01/2022 09:28

I haven't, which is remarkable given that I work in a large secondary school 🤔

I am triple jabbed and test regularly.

I have to say, I am not confident I will avoid it in Jan with cases the way they are!

SofiaMichElf · 01/01/2022 18:00

@SofiaMichElf

None of us have had it, either.

Until last week, when cases rocketed close to us, the only person I know who'd had it was my friend's DD who got it around June 2020.

But as of yesterday 3 full families out of our close friends now have it - they think they may have picked it up at another friend's get together on Christmas Day. All 3 families were at our house for several hours on Monday, but we've tested negative today so fingers crossed we've avoided it.

This current variant must be far more transmissible given how many people I now know who have it or had it over past few weeks, compared the past 20 months.

This didn't age well.

DH and I both woke with slightly sore throats and sniffles, so we tested and they were positive today.

Having not seen anyone or been anywhere for a few days, we almost certainly picked it up on Monday, as mentioned in above post.

I also spoke to another friend who was at ours on Monday and she and her DH have also now tested positive.

That's now every single person who was with us on Monday - presumably all infected by my friend who tested positive first (Tuesday) and thinks she was infected at work as 4 colleagues all tested positive around same time as her and were first in their families to get it.

It really does seem exceptionally transmissible.

Lulu1919 · 01/01/2022 18:15

Not had it ....yet

TheCloudsHavePassed · 01/01/2022 18:24

Nope, none of my family have and only one friend I know of. We live in a village that's been rather untouched somehow but I have no doubt that will come to a halt soon. Two jabs and boosted but both key workers and two very young children. I expect my son to bring it home any day

alreadytaken · 01/01/2022 18:27

Not that I know of - but we cancelled Christmas to try and avoid it. Friends didnt and one tested positive, waiting to see if their family (including CEV person) get it. Relatives have tested positive recently too. Fortunately they are all vaccinated and most boosted and none have yet needed hospital.
