Has anyone NOT had Covid?

I feel myself and family are the only people on earth that hasn't had Covid, everyone I know has had it!

OP posts:
WeeWeeWeeeee · 01/01/2022 18:34

DH has had it (as has much of his family, some severely). I’m CEV, we had no real space to isolate and yet me and our 2 DC didn’t catch it.

NeverForgetYourDreams · 01/01/2022 18:41

Me, DH, DS, Mum, sister, nephew not had it at all. Nor has my work colleague or her husband. Nor any of my immediate friends bar one.

fizzypop100 · 01/01/2022 18:53

All my family have had it except me, my DH and DS (15)

SofiaMichElf · 01/01/2022 18:53

Just to add, we've all had all vaccine doses on offer and none of us have anything more than 'very mild cold' type symptoms - the sort of barely noticeable symptoms that wouldn't have been worthy of mention in 2019.

Herecomesthesun70 · 01/01/2022 23:31

No one in our family has had it. None of our parents either.

TooMuchSugar22 · 01/01/2022 23:41

None of us have, that we know of?
But then again I haven't tested my dcs at every little cough or runny nose.
My toddler dc gets chest infections on a pretty much monthly basis. So coughs alot, as does my 3 year old who seems to pick up bugs all the time. Her pre school never ask to get her tested either.

happilybemused · 02/01/2022 18:05

No cases in our family or wider circle. One case locally. A few at DS school but asymptomatic and only tested as parents work required it.

But if in a population of 68million if 12 million have tested positive that is more than likely.

No idea why some so unaffected whilst others have had multiple infections.

Sorryusernamealreadyexists · 02/01/2022 18:19

Only DS out of 4 of us has had it. The cold he got 2 weeks after was far worse for him.

happilybemused · 02/01/2022 18:27

@Sorryusernamealreadyexists

Exactly this! Both children had a horrible cold over a number of weeks but it wasn't covid positive via LFT or PCR.

LubaLuca · 02/01/2022 18:28

@LubaLuca

I don't think I have, even when those around me have (one of my children and close work colleagues). I think far more people haven't had it than have, so it's not that surprising really.
I spoke too soon. I tested positive today Sad
megletthesecond · 02/01/2022 18:32

No. No one in (small) family has had it either. Everyone being sensible, minimal pub visits even in normal times.

ShottaSheriff · 02/01/2022 19:06

This thread makes interesting reading. We’ve been for quite a few PCR tests with symptoms of a cough and temperature but all negative. Back when we had them, we wouldn’t have thought to daily lateral flows after testing.
More and more I’m hearing of people whose initial PCRs were negative but then a second later one is positive, after they persist with daily LFT and pick it up first that way.

Wrongkindofovercoat · 02/01/2022 19:23

No-one in this house has had it yet, but know loads and loads of people who have had it, a lot of those caught it recently.

GooodGolly · 02/01/2022 19:25

My husband and 2 sons have just had it. Not sure how I've escaped catching it to be honest

PinkButtercups · 02/01/2022 19:25

We as a family have only just caught it. Before that there was only a handful of people if that, that I knew had covid. Now I need to use my fingers and toes to count how many people I know who has/had covid.

This is what happened to us. Kept LF and after about 3 days it showed up on the test.
CombatBarbie · 02/01/2022 20:01

I haven't nor has my DH. My DDs both had it in Oct but we never tested positive via LFT or PCR. DH is boostered, I have had none.

Its running rampant through our tiny village at the moment (only had 1 isolated case in the whole pandemic) due to one person visiting multiple houses for a drink on Xmas day.

bluetongue · 02/01/2022 20:41

I’m sure plenty of us have had it without even realising. The list of possible symptoms for Covid, especially Omicron is huge. If you suffer from things like allergies or migraines (I get both) you’re probably not going to test every time you get a headache or runny nose.

Ietthemeatcake · 02/01/2022 20:46

We haven't, neither have my parents or in laws, my DSis and all her family who live in London, or my two closest friends and their families. Know quite a few people who have though.

chaosrabbitland · 02/01/2022 20:51

no never had it touch wood , dd age 13 hasnt either , this is despite her being in a huge secondary school with over 1500 pupils and me working in essential retail through it all , neither of us wear masks now , only did last year and one before , 2 of the ladies i work with in our busy store have had it last year and dd has been a close contact of several students that have , but im sure i have just jinxed it now as well lol

Suffolkcatlady · 02/01/2022 20:56

Not as far as I know! My work is quite isolating as a dog walker - pet sitter. I see pets but not so many people! But I do have one child at 6th form and one working for a big company (now WFH). They've both had loads of colds and strange bugs over the last year but always tested negative with both lat flow and PCR. I did feel really ill over the summer for about 5 months with joint pain, palpitaions, fatigue, brain fog etc . Did wonder if it was long covid, or vaccine side effects - or menopause - then blood tests came back with raised CRP and positive Rheumatoid factor. So somethings been going on. But felt back to normal over the last month. But with my youngest back at 6th form this week wondering now if we'll all get it.

AliceA2021 · 02/01/2022 21:08

Not had it. I test several times a week. In the early days due to my work and health condition CEV I was able to access tests frequently and tested then. Always been negative. Still continue to go out and about but keep distance, handwashing etc. I continue as normal as much as possible and avoid the deniers and the anti vax lot and have a small social circle.
Professionally I do come into contact with many and yet still have avoided it so far thankfully.

AnnaBolina · 02/01/2022 21:09

I haven't ever had a positive PCR. We haven't had any positive PCRs in the house and there are 5 of us.

chickennuggetsandicecream · 02/01/2022 21:11

How I've not had it yet I don't know 😂 I work as a plumber for a housing association I'm in and out of peoples homes all day I have a 4yr old in nursery there have been around 8 cases in her setting so far she's not caught it. I'm just waiting for it to happen 😂

onedayoranother · 02/01/2022 21:13

Nope. Not me nor my son (18, works in retail and goes on a bus every day). Nor daughter (16, on tube every day).
