Has anyone NOT had Covid?

I feel myself and family are the only people on earth that hasn't had Covid, everyone I know has had it!

OP posts:
thereinmadnesslies · 31/12/2021 00:53

Not yet … it feels like it’s just a waiting game, everyone will get covid at least once before the pandemic is over.

Aphrodite31 · 31/12/2021 00:56

Me .... 🙈

tcjotm · 31/12/2021 01:01

I haven’t and don’t know anyone else here in Australia who has. Before omicron we’ve had low numbers though. I expect people I know are going to get it over this holiday period.

Emilyontmoor · 31/12/2021 01:22

I don’t think you can be sure you haven’t had it. One family member had what was “obviously” a cold in March 2020, runny nose, lost sense of taste and smell. We took part in trials and they had antibodies in August and I had them (no symptoms at any point) in October. 1.5m Londoners (17%) had antibodies by June 2020. At the other end of the country other family members were also ill in March 2020, one with a full house of the classic symptoms but told there were only 4 cases in the county, so could not be it. It turns out 2 GPs had skied in Italy and spread it in the villages after, especially as a result of more contact with the elderly.

We have had two bigger waves since. Surely many more have had it than know.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 31/12/2021 01:23

I only know 2 people who have had it - a colleague and a terminally ill relative who caught it in hospital.
We haven't had it - my DP works for emergency services so would have expected him be more likely to catch it than me as I mainly work from home and our DD isn't in nursery or mixing with people regularly.

I've been constantly ill with dreadful colds for the past couple of months - not Covid though apparently. I'm heavily pregnant and catching everything going.

feeona123 · 31/12/2021 01:32

Me! My daughter currently has it. I was exposed originally on Christmas Day and my daughter tested positive on the 27th and I’m still negative!

My husband and son are also negative after having the same exposure.

notangelinajolie · 31/12/2021 01:36

I may have had it but no clue because it was before testing,

Apart from that I don't know anyone who has had it.

DramaAlpaca · 31/12/2021 01:37

None of the five of us has had it, but it's so virulent round here that it must only be a matter of time. We are all as vaccinated as we can be.

Blueberryflavour · 31/12/2021 01:51

Know quite a few people who have had it, next door neighbours, work colleagues (one of whom was right at the very start and very badly), extended family members etc. Not us though, I’ve been working in an essential frontline job all through the pandemic and regularly do lft’s, DH also working customer facing. Two grown children with their own homes and families none of them have had it either, even with kids at nursery. My aging mum not had it either and my MIL never got it when it hit the residents in her nursing home, she died of something else earlier this year. Starting to hear of so many acquaintances having it I think it’s just a matter of time for us now.

Cheeseplantboots · 31/12/2021 01:56

No not had it, none of my immediate or extended family have had it either. I know very few people who have, maybe 5.

RedLipClass · 31/12/2021 02:00

I haven't had it and neither have my boyfriend, my parents, my sister, boyfriend's parents or his brother. Which I find really strange as I work in a hospital and have been working in rooms with covid positive patients since the start of the pandemic, my sister works in a care home and has been working with covid positive patients, my dad works all over the place meeting lots of different people and boyfriend's brother works in retail. My dad and I also use public transport to get to work.

We either all have really good immune systems or we've had it and not been unwell.

crapatthis1 · 31/12/2021 02:04

I've been around so much Covid lately with close contacts including my dad in the house I live in with them and nothing yet.
I thought I read that some people might some natural immunity, something to do with T Cell or something but definitely don't quote me on that!

dinahsdishes · 31/12/2021 02:07

We haven't and don't know any one who has either

However we were really ill in Dec 19 after spending the days leading up to Christmas with a good friend who came back from China with the flu... so who knows - we might have had it

Floralnomad · 31/12/2021 02:10

Nobody in our immediate family has had it including our son who is a teacher .

CharSiu · 31/12/2021 02:12

I had it it 2020 early on, only knew one other person who had it and she very sadly died, she was recovering from surviving cancer and was only 32.

This time I currently try know ten people who are currently positive, half in London and the rest West and East Midlands.

Jenasaurus · 31/12/2021 02:16

We haven’t

NiceTwin · 31/12/2021 02:23

Nobody in our family, or close family.

hannsmum · 31/12/2021 02:37

Same with me, my mum and my kids

We've been in contact with a lot of people ( unknowingly) who have got Covid but we've never had it

My mum's partner just had it and she was with him 3 nights before he found out and she didn't get it

I and my kids sat with him as well when he had it (hadnt tested then) but we didn't get it

My lil bro and his girlfriend have just tested positive and we were with them for 4 days during Xmas and we still don't have it

But for some reason I believe I had it in Jan 2019 (jan 24th) before testing came out and lockdown

I had this almost deadly flu and I couldn't stand up for dayss.. never had such before. Then my kids had a fever and spiking temps so maybe we've built some kind of immunity to it...I just don't know

uncomfortablydumb53 · 31/12/2021 02:37

I haven't

Rhannion · 31/12/2021 02:40

Not had it and none of my immediate family or any friends have had it that we know of.

AffIt · 31/12/2021 02:46

Me, as far as I know. Vaxxed up and boosted.

I had been in South East Asia until Feb 20. Came home to Scotland.

Literally not so much as a sniffle, in spite of fairly regular travel between here and London since July 21.

Either I have the immune system of a horse, or I've had it asymptomatically at some point, who knows...

MakeMineAdoubleChocolate · 31/12/2021 02:53

I haven't had it. Neither has my husband or our 5 children. My eldest boy, 14 has had numerous kids in his class have it though. Even his maths partner, who sits directly next to him. And he was fine. Thank God.

I'm not jabbed and haven't had it. But then again, I haven't gone out very much. Only school run, corner shop if absolutely have to, and even then I keep my distance. I'm dreading next week going back though. The numbers are getting higher and i really hate the small school gate way, where everyone pushes through and close together.

KimikosNightmare · 31/12/2021 02:55

I haven't, nor have any of my friends or family.

I went back to the office every time as soon as restrictions permitted and have been in cinemas, theatres, restaurants, trains, shops as soon as permitted.

I follow the rules but wear a mask only where it's compulsory.

KimikosNightmare · 31/12/2021 02:56

I'm fully vaccinated and boosted. I don't understand why one wouldn't be.

AffIt · 31/12/2021 02:58

Should have added - out and about, shops, restaurants etc, theatre in London.

I do always wear a mask indoors, though.
