So as the title says I'm triple jabbed and tested positive on a lateral this morning. I've had what I thought was a cold for a few days and was testing every day due to seeing family over Xmas and have tested negative until today. Dp is also positive with no symptoms and dd17 is also positive and feels rough. Dp triple jabbed and dd double jabbed. We all have pcr's tomorrow.
So any fellow positive people come join in and let's get through isolation together

Yep, triple valued had booster in November as was in priority group.

Symptoms started boxing day and positive left, pcr yesterday just had result now,

Think I can test on new years day I can't work it out?

It feels like flu and yes I've had proper flu its horrific

Passthecake30 · 30/12/2021 08:40

I’m on day 4, triple jabbed but I only 8 days after my booster Hmm
I have a bunged up /snotty head cold. Ears a bit bunged up. I’m asthmatic and it hasn’t hit my chest at all. I slept SO much yesterday.

oldtableleg · 30/12/2021 08:47

I had it 5 weeks after getting my booster (early for work not CV). Had a sore throat for a day before +ve LFT, that lasted for 2 days then just cold symptoms - sneezing, runny nose, watering eyes, the most annoying symptom was muffling/tinnitus in one ear. It all went in less that a week. Dh (also boosted) had a sinus-type headache but no other symptoms - he caught it a few weeks before me. We didn’t do any sort of isolation within the household either time & no-one else caught it afaik (LFTs stayed -ve & no symptoms). Pretty glad to have it done before back to work in January tbh.

I had the booster in October (NHS worker) Dp had his on dec 23rd

For me it's definitely felt more like mild flu than a cold. I've had a very mild tickly cough, slightly wheezy chest and on and off food/drinks (especially coffee) has tasted strange or tasteless. No real snot or sneezing at all. The above were my first symptoms along with a bit of a headache and bit of fatigue and nausea.

I'm on about day 9 of symptoms now and feeling much better generally but what has been most significant by far is real fatigue and very achy legs/back with some tingly pins and needles, making it tricky to sleep. Days 4/5!prob the worst. I'm usually pretty fit and run and train a few times a week but half an hour of being up and about has often left me needing to go back to bed. I've had about 5-10% of my normal energy I think. So take care and rest if you can and don't underestimate omicron. I had my third jab in Nov.
I'll feel alright and then suddenly tired and

Gaagaa · 30/12/2021 09:02

Sorry posted too soon. When I think I'm better, ill do something and then suddenly tired and a bit nauseous. I usually feel better after I've eaten even though my appetite is not so good

LethargeMarg · 30/12/2021 09:08

Me !! Although my booster was back in September so I'm wondering if it's worn off a bit? Saying that dh is only a few weeks ago and also positive
We caught it off friends who were clearly ill when dh saw them which is very annoying and I am now paranoid I've been a Christmas Day super spreader despite feeling ok till 27th and lateral flow testing daily
We got positive (faint lines) lateral flows 28th and were fortunate to get pcrs quickly and results (dh in under 12 hours same day which u was surprised at)
Hoping kids who had delta in September can avoid it
It seems so transmissible dh came down with it in three days then me the day after
Oldest dd has done a pcr postal and am lateral flow testing younger two who had it in September (stuck home now anyway)
Only positives are with schools closed I haven't got to have the dilemma of whether to send them in etc and house full of food and booze
My symptoms were sore throat first then felt a bit odd and achey, then awful cough and now feel heady and ear ache and sore throat (croaky voice) feel like will soon be a snot factory ...also tired
Dh has been quite nauseous with it too and off food and booze but I've been eating loads
Get well soon everyone

greenweepingwillow · 30/12/2021 09:13

oh me too.
slight scratchy throat on Christmas eve evening, and positive lateral flow. Had previously been negative as had been testing daily as ds (13) had tested potitive on the Monday (20th)
PCR Christmas day, positive result boxing day.
Didnt feel too bad Christmas day, although had very blocked nose and sinus pain. Slight tickly cough for a few hours.
Boxind day similar, then boxing day evening started feeling worse. Totally lost smell and taste
Monday and Tuesday felt grim. Sweaty, achey, nausea and no apetite, ate very little for past 3 days! Really painful back and hips and so, so tired. Slept 13 hours Tuesday night, still shattered yesterday.
LFT still very positive yesterday (day 5) so not expecting to get a negative today
Was going to work form home today and tomorrow but have rung in sick as I still feel totally wiped out and brain foggy - so not able to safely do my job really.
Still no smell or taste, still feel bunged up and achey - but slight improveent this morning I think
TBH I am suprised at how long it has dragged on.
DS had a headache ane temp for 24 hours, and was then totally fine.

I'm tripple jabbed, but only had my booster on 19th, so one day before ds positive and 5 days beofr I tested positive, so likely it hadnt kicked in fully.

Oddly though the other 6 people in the household are all negative still ane with no symptoms.....( 1 dd (15) single jabbed, dh tripple jabbed and 3 adult dc double jabbed)

LethargeMarg · 30/12/2021 09:13

Just wondered how much are you isolating at home? I'm sanitising loads and wearing gloves for dieting laundry, washing up but otherwise I'm with the kids- I was going to wear a mask but just feels to miserable and I kind of think they'll have been exposed already

Shieldmaiden01 · 30/12/2021 09:16

@Monty27

I'm all vaxed up. I can't stop thinking we're being conned. What used to be a winter cold has now been labelled under the umbrella of COVID-19 and prettily named Omicron. Wtf? It.is.a.cold. I hope I don't turn in my grave regretting those words. I have a respiratory condition and still still surviving very well. There's more to this than meets the eye. I'm aware of the statistics. It was horrendous. But I've even stopped believing them. A very close relative did indeed contract covid in the early days and just about survived, so I'm not denegrating COVID-19. I'm really not sure where we're at now though. Lost the faith i guess.
This, 100%

Completely carrying on as normal here in the house
greenweepingwillow · 30/12/2021 09:19

@Gaagaa glad to hear you're feeling better. Your experience is quite similar to mine I think. I am on day 6 now and ever so slight imorvement this morning. I had hardly eaten aything for 3 days, but managed some soup last night and it helped I think.
I was also previously quite fit(ish!) and healthy (run around 3 times a week) and am quite suprised at how hard this has hit me. I mean I am fine really, and in no way concerned about needing hospital care or anything, but definitely feel more grim and exhausted for longer than expected!

greenweepingwillow · 30/12/2021 09:23

@LethargeMarg we were all together on Christmas day. I did wear a mask when not eating, and we kept windows open, but did spend all day together eating, playing games etc. I have kept to my room a bit more since then, but not really isolating as such. So far only me and ds have had it (2 out of 8!)
Last Christmas dd (15) had it and no one else got it depsite no isolating at all. Very odd.

choosername1234 · 30/12/2021 09:28

Me too!
I got covid back in April 2020 (but before community testing), high risk key worker job and "classic symptoms". Now fully jabbed & boostered and tested positive on Xmas Eve & confirmed with PCR on Xmas day.
I'm not isolating at home at all, 2 adults & 2 kids (inc BF baby) in a small 2 up 2 down house, it's just not possible

Peanut82 · 30/12/2021 10:13

We're not isolating neither, there's only dd6 who has tested negative do she's been exposed to it anyway.
Been for pcr this morning, playing the waiting game for results now

Got PCR this morning. I’m still negative on LFT and DH tested negative too this morning after two positives last night. Any ideas?

Benjispruce5 · 30/12/2021 10:41

Actually it finally got a pale line after 15 mins though.

Jobseeker19 · 30/12/2021 10:43

If the vaccine doesn't stop spread then why are the isolation rules different?
Why are some industries insisting on workers being jabbed?
Why are the flight rules different?

Benjispruce5 · 30/12/2021 15:15

I’m bored already. Very hard to distance in the house . DH has been cleaning our cars , I’ve been cleaning and watching recorded tv. DD out(was negative) and other DD staying in her room ‘revising’ which sounds like it’s fun of her laughing is anything to go by.Hmm

greenweepingwillow · 30/12/2021 15:29

well, my day 6 lateral flow is still convincingly positive....sigh......slightly panicing about needing two negative lfts on consecutive days before I can go back to work......
Although, I do feel a little bit better for the first time today. And vague sense of small and taste seems to be returning in waves.

jewel1968 · 30/12/2021 19:37

So we are still testing negative despite in close contact with DS who is positive. Perhaps our vaccines are working for us!? Time will tell I guess.

I do find it really strange the variety of symptoms and severity across those that catch it and then the fact that some don't catch it despite close contact. I wonder if the scientists have any idea what is behind that. I read a scientist on Twitter saying that some people get repeated infections whilst others never get infected.

I've wondered this. I thought I'd escaped it, never had to isolate or have a PCR until now. I've felt crap all day but feel a bit better tonight, managed to muster up the energy to bath dd

Dh tested positive last Wednesday. Me yesterday. Both triple jabbed. Dh quite poorly but I'm absolutely fine so far. Dd (dble jabbed) negative so far, ds unjabbed also negative.

Benjispruce5 · 30/12/2021 21:11

Tested at 11.30 today. Wondering how long results will be. Last time I did a test it was over 48hrs.

Mine took just under 12 hours yesterday. Test 11.30am results 12.13am.

Positive as expected and at a drive through if that makes a difference never been to a drive through one before.

At our usual walk in one they normally take around 30-36 hours for us
