Triple jabbed and positive, let's have a support/moan thread

So as the title says I'm triple jabbed and tested positive on a lateral this morning. I've had what I thought was a cold for a few days and was testing every day due to seeing family over Xmas and have tested negative until today. Dp is also positive with no symptoms and dd17 is also positive and feels rough. Dp triple jabbed and dd double jabbed. We all have pcr's tomorrow.
So any fellow positive people come join in and let's get through isolation together

@WaystarRoycoCEO

Is it just me or is it ridiculous to still need a pcr if you’ve had a positive lft plus symptoms? Surely that makes it pretty much certain you’re positive. And yet not need a pcr if you’ve got no symptoms but a positive lft.

Personally I think the most sensible requirements would have been

Symptoms + positive ltf = covid
No symptoms + positive ltf = covid
Symptoms + negative ltf = get a pcr
No symptoms + negative ltf = not covid

On another thread someone was saying that if you have a positive LFT regardless of symptoms,or not that actually you don’t need a pcr in either scenario. But the govt havent explained it very well.

Certainly I misunderstood if that’s the case.

So only time you need a pcr is you have symptoms and a negative lft. Or if you’ve been asked to do a pcr.

WaystarRoycoCEO · 13/01/2022 11:01

You’re right @CovidCorvid it’s just really unclear. The poster before me was saying that if you have a positive lft and also have symptoms then you still need to get a pcr which just makes no sense at all.

I think it’s because they haven’t revised the guidance of doing a pcr rather than an lft if you have symptoms which is just daft because if you’ve got symptoms and a positive lft then surely there’s no need to take the time and faff of also having a pcr?!

My work have said no need for PCR

Joining the not-so-exclusive Covid club 👋

Positive Monday after having a stonking headache i couldn't shift. Other symptoms - burning sensation in my nose, tight chest, awful headache, sick and fatigued. Oximeter has just arrived, levels currently on 94%

Had some peanut butter on toast this morning, could taste the bread but not the PB. Really trippy! Now's the time to eat all the healthy foods I've never been keen on 😆

DH tested positive Xmas day, DD on new years and me on my birthday, bit of rotten luck!

Triple jabbed, had the booster a week before the positive, so possibly not had time to take full effect..

Totally daft. And when I registered my positive LFT on Monday the app told me to go get a pcr. Which was incorrect.

Welcome aboard, Mimi!

Dh still negative, he’s at work and just rang me and asked his usual question “ are you in or out tonight” before catching himself on!

Hmmm, jigsaw or knitting tonight?

I did do a LFt this morning, though I’m only day 4. Still very resolutely and very quickly positive.

Mimi91 · 14/01/2022 08:14

Day 5 for me today and this is the worst I've felt. Constantly out of breath and the kidney pain some others have mentioned...bizarre! Head and neck feel very stiff and this is the first day I've not been able to get out of bed. DH having to take a day off work to look after DD. My 3rd day off work (WFH), you'd think I'd be able to sit in bed with a laptop, but my brain is like mush! Hard enough typing on here, but came for a moan. Today was the start of a new project at work and we've had to push our bathroom reno back a month, so I'm feeling VERY sorry for myself. Also (and possibly worst of all), my birthday wine is still just sat in the fridge. If DH gets to it before I do, im done.

StoopitAutocarrot · 14/01/2022 09:26

Day 5- still testing positive, Dh still negative. We’re not reporting all these confirmatory tests.

I asked him to get me some honey yesterday, but he forgot. He also forgot to make me any dinner, though he did bring a chocolate milkshake.

cheeseybeans19 · 16/01/2022 07:52

Day 6 here and starting to feel better ( touch wood) apart from my throat which is really sore, hoping that doesn’t last too much longer! How is everyone else doing?

Summerofcontent · 16/01/2022 10:09

Does anyone have an internal quivering like sensation?

I'm now on day 16 I've felt fine all the way through apart from this horrible internal vibration.

IsaLating · 18/01/2022 07:02

Day 9, line quite faint this morning but still there.

LadyPenelope68 · 18/01/2022 07:34

Day 9 here, still positive, infact all 4 of us still positive. Weirdly, DS22 who has had least symptoms of all of us, has the strongest line still (same as first test) and his line is coming up the quickest.

PlantWitch · 18/01/2022 16:15

Just had the faintest line on lft, been for PCR but DD2 is currently off with covid so Im pretty convinced it will be positive. Only have a slight sore throat, triple boosted and late thirties but I suffer from health anxiety and Im carrying a few extra pounds so absolutely terrified at the moment!

Benjispruce5 · 18/01/2022 18:12

You don’t need a PCR. Any line, however faint is a positive.

Benjispruce5 · 18/01/2022 18:14

@Summerofcontent how old are you? I’ve heard that’s a peri menopause symptom.

Hlglu56 · 18/01/2022 19:59

Tested positive on Sunday. I think I caught it on Thursday at work when a colleague felt unwell and went home. She had done an LFT in the morning that was negative but the one in the afternoon was positive.

I felt a bit tired and emotional Friday and Saturday but might be unrelated. Sunday I felt tired and achey, negative LFT in the morning. By the afternoon my chest, back and legs were aching and I had a faint positive LFT.

Yesterday I felt really poorly. Cold and shivery, really nauseous and just laid on the sofa all day. Two year old has it but only has a runny nose. Five year old is full of cold but negative PCR and LFTs.

Today I have felt so much better. Tired but have managed to cook tea, play with the children and do minimal house work. I’ve had worse colds. Appetite is returning. Really hoping this is it and it won’t get any worse again… Had my booster in October so am not sure if it will still be affective. All jabs were Pfizer.

Summerofcontent · 18/01/2022 20:14

That's interesting

My year with no periods is at the end of April so hopefully nearing the end of peri. 🤞

I'm also taking quite a high dose of steroids at the moment so could possibly be a combination I suppose

I’m into week 4 now, and still exhausted and haven’t gone back to work. Headaches too. I wake up every morning feeling like I have a hangover. I’m not drinking. If I do one thing, like coffee with a friend, I fall asleep later. I’m trying to pace myself, doing a small walk or visit or whatever each day, but the fatigue is not really lessening. I work in a school so really need to have some energy to go back.

I'm also into week 4 (I think) still exhausted. Have roped in family to do some school runs to give me a rest.

I'm trying to eat as well as I can am craving fruit and veg, am taking spatone iron sachets plus a multivitamin and just cutting corners where I can, easy meals etc.

Im a SAHM but if I had a job I don't think I'd be able to go back yet

Such a weird virus it affects people so differently!

soyabean · 19/01/2022 18:23

Sorry to hear that @Plantsandpuddlesuits. It must be really hard with young children.

IsaLating · 20/01/2022 17:30

Was day 10 yesterday and I finally recorded a negative result this morning.Oh the freedom, that commute to work was just wonderful!

MargeIsBack · 20/01/2022 17:36

Triple jabbed and feel awful. On day 4 now, completely lost my voice, throat is the sorest it’s ever been. Spent last two days in bed, only leaving to go to the toilet. Feel totally miserable. Like proper flu. Generally I’m very active and fit but I feel like I’ve been very battered. When did people start to feel better if they had flu symptoms?

IsaLating · 20/01/2022 18:33

My flu symptoms passed after a few days, though i still have the odd coughing episode.

IsaLating · 20/01/2022 18:34

And I’m about to give DH the biggest hug this evening!

PlantWitch · 20/01/2022 18:51

So happy for you @IsaLating Im on Day 2 and thankfully not feeling too unwell so far but Day 10 seems like a million years away!
