Triple jabbed and positive, let's have a support/moan thread

So as the title says I'm triple jabbed and tested positive on a lateral this morning. I've had what I thought was a cold for a few days and was testing every day due to seeing family over Xmas and have tested negative until today. Dp is also positive with no symptoms and dd17 is also positive and feels rough. Dp triple jabbed and dd double jabbed. We all have pcr's tomorrow.
So any fellow positive people come join in and let's get through isolation together

yes that's how i understand it too. I had a day 6 positive yesterday. Even if I had a negative today (day 7), which I don't think I will, the earliest I could be back at work was Friday (assuming day 7 Weds and day 8 Thurs were negative). So I'm now aiming to be back at work on Monday which is past day 10 even if I test positive (luckily I am not NHS so not subject to the same rules as @WreckTangled !)

@WreckTangled @LadyPenelope68 thank you

Can someone help me re test and trace please? They have sent me a million texts and emails and also called while I was half asleep, it was an awful echoey line and all I could make out was the call would take 25 minutes, a lot of pauses and I hung up after explaining I felt unwell. Decided to just bite the bullet and complete the info via the links emailed ( as son tested positive on Sunday I have been home with him anyway before testing positive myself yesterday, and DP is doing daily LFT as he is double vaccinated plus booster) Started to fill it all in, but when I entered DP’s details it said he must isolate until January 21st! How can that be right? So I have abandoned the form but am now getting even more texts and emails. Can someone advise as I’m finding it all too stressful, I don’t feel well at all as it is. My brother seems to think it isn’t compulsory to give out info, is that right?

WaystarRoycoCEO · 12/01/2022 10:28

@cheeseybeans19 I filled that out last night. The bit about contacts needing to isolate until x date is in big writing but then in small writing it mentions exemptions which includes being fully vaccinated - strange that the default is to say they have to isolate when the vast majority are now fully vaxxed.

WaystarRoycoCEO · 12/01/2022 10:30

Had my booster mid Dec. Just tested positive yesterday. It was a random ltf (I work in a school) and I got a really quick strong positive. A total surprise as I feel fine except maybe a slight headache, but then I feel like I’ve had a headache for the last 2 years really Grin

So far dh and dc all negative.

I’m so bored!! Would almost prefer to feel unwell so it seemed like there was actually a point to being stuck at home!!

WaystarRoycoCEO · 12/01/2022 10:31

I say a total surprise - there are certainly cases in school at the moment!

It’s only if not exempt from isolation so for those people who aren’t fully jabbed. My mum got a text following me adding her as a contact panicking that she had to isolate but it says “Unless exempt”
cheeseybeans19 · 12/01/2022 11:07

Thanks all

LadyPenelope68 · 12/01/2022 12:05

@StoopitAutocarrot
@WreckTangled
Yes that's how I understand it. As long as you have two negatives 24 hours apart.

That was my understanding as well, but School (I’m a teacher) have said different! Not sure anyone knows what in earth to do!

StoopitAutocarrot · 12/01/2022 12:07

Yes it’s very confusing, especially when the rules are constantly changing, and in different parts of the UK (and beyond).

I’m in NI and a civil servant, for reference.

HappyThursdays · 12/01/2022 14:24

I have had such weird symptoms with this

I had the odd painful lower back/stabbing in kidneys in the first 1-2 days that I see a fair few people had

the last few days, my hands and feet have been absolutely freezing to the touch. I don't have a temperature (only had one briefly at the start) and other than sounding congested, I don't actually appear that unwell but I'm still v tired.

I am really hoping I am coming to the end of it now!

StoopitAutocarrot · 12/01/2022 14:43

Gosh my hands and feet are so cold too!

WreckTangled · 12/01/2022 15:16

I had really weird pins and needles in my hands on the first day. Thought I was seriously ill Grin

Eggmcmuffin · 12/01/2022 16:04

Can I join please? Positive lft, going for my pcr later but got symptoms so think it will be. Think I'm actually quite lucky to avoid getting it over the Xmas period, and it's my birthday at the end of the month so will hopefully be on the other side by then. Trying to stay positive. Anyone else thinking they can look to book a holiday now they've had it as less likely to catch it in next few months?! I intend to spend my isolation searching for holidays!

@Lalalablahblahblah as of yesterday you don’t need a PCR to confirm a positive LFT.

CovidCorvid · 12/01/2022 23:54

Just found this thread, tested positive yesterday.

Very tired, headache, weird burning nose whichnis quite painful. Streaming eyes. Sinus pressure.

WreckTangled · 13/01/2022 07:42

Day 15 negative! I'm going back to work finally! I've been off almost four weeks due to holiday and Christmas

HappyThursdays · 13/01/2022 08:09

hurrah @WreckTangled

I was hoping for a negative on LFT (day 8) so that I might be released before Saturday but still positive (and everyone in house still negative!). I think dp is a bit annoyed as he has a busy day at work travelling around and he has very similar symptoms to me but has never tested positive on LFT or the PCR we did last week when I was positive and he was negative!

mummyto6123456 · 13/01/2022 08:26

Had second jab October and booster on Saturday tested positive yesterday

Unlucky for me

Meh

LadyPenelope68 · 13/01/2022 09:24

@HappyThursdays
If he’s got similar symptoms he’s be best getting another PCR. He might have just been that but too early to show in the test last week.

LadyPenelope68 · 13/01/2022 09:26

@Benjispruce5

Incorrect, if you’ve got symptoms you should have a PCR.

WaystarRoycoCEO · 13/01/2022 10:24

Is it just me or is it ridiculous to still need a pcr if you’ve had a positive lft plus symptoms? Surely that makes it pretty much certain you’re positive. And yet not need a pcr if you’ve got no symptoms but a positive lft.

Personally I think the most sensible requirements would have been

Symptoms + positive ltf = covid
No symptoms + positive ltf = covid
Symptoms + negative ltf = get a pcr
No symptoms + negative ltf = not covid

WaystarRoycoCEO · 13/01/2022 10:24

Obviously all those ltfs should be lfts!!

CovidCorvid · 13/01/2022 10:42

So I know you have to test negative 2x to finish isolation early.

If you don’t test negative then is it automatically ending in day ten or do I still need negative LFT?
