Triple jabbed and positive, let's have a support/moan thread

So as the title says I'm triple jabbed and tested positive on a lateral this morning. I've had what I thought was a cold for a few days and was testing every day due to seeing family over Xmas and have tested negative until today. Dp is also positive with no symptoms and dd17 is also positive and feels rough. Dp triple jabbed and dd double jabbed. We all have pcr's tomorrow.
So any fellow positive people come join in and let's get through isolation together

Yes I'm hearing so much of this 'it's only 7 days now' and know of people bending the rules even with this. I'm still positive on day 9 and it's quite frustrating !! I feel the messaging may be deliberately a little vague to try to stop people being off work etc 🙄

Exhausteddog · 06/01/2022 16:20

I think lots of people will be wrongly assuming this. I had a call from dds school asking why she wasn't in today as it was day 8. Umm yes but she tested positive today and I a) already told them she likely wouldn't be in until Monday and b) uploaded her positive lft's to their own database as requested.

My DCs school have also written (in a general letter) saying "now the isolation period has been cut to 7 days" ignoring the part about having 2 negative lateral flows and avoiding crowded or unventilated places (aherm schools) which is why we always planned that we would return to work (avoiding public transport) and school on Monday which allows for 10 days isolation.

Benjispruce5 · 06/01/2022 17:22

@Exhausteddog most employers will expect you back if you get two negative LFTs after day 6. You can’t just say you’re not going in until after day 10.

Exhausteddog · 06/01/2022 17:54

Im wfh tomorrow (and have been dealing with emails etc from home this week) anyway but I thought was easier to tell clients I will be back (in actual workplace) on Monday rather than I might be back on Friday. (Which now wouldn't be possible anyway) Particular client only works Friday mornings anyway so it was only half a day different from their perspective.

Benjispruce5 · 06/01/2022 18:01

I work in a primary school and don’t have that luxury.

I tested positive today. It was the headache that gave it away for me. I don't think I've ever had a headache that lasted all day the way mine did - was so painful! Thank goodness I now have some Night Nurse to knock me out tonight.

Had hoarse voice/sore throat, terrible headache and sort of stabby pains in my kidneys. No runny nose or any other symptoms. Little bit of a chesty cough. I am on day 2 symptoms and tbh already feel a bit better than yesterday but v tired. Looking forward to getting to the weekend !

I am still working but from home. Apparently need to self isolate to next Saturday (I guess unless I can do earlier LFTs which I haven't got at home!).

Benjispruce5 · 06/01/2022 19:22

@HappyThursdays I have similar symptoms this evening. DH day 9 and negative. I am very tired(but back to work so could be that) I have a scratchy throat, tickly cough, slightly phlegm. But still negative. I feel like I’m going a bit mad or I’m imagining symptoms Z every day I expect to test positive and I don’t.

I've heard of the stabby kidney pain from a few people, weird one!
whataballbag · 06/01/2022 19:27

Day 4 for me. Feeling mostly ok I think. Bit of a headache and tight chest at times and a bit of sinus pain.

DS 2 on day 10, and DS1 on day 6

HappyThursdays · 06/01/2022 19:55

If anyone really struggles with the headache, I found wearing a woolly hat inside has made it a lot less severe. Not sure if it's the pressure from the hat or the warmth!

I hope you all feel better soon. Along with Covid, there seem to be some nasty bugs doing the rounds @Benjispruce5 !

Benjispruce5 · 06/01/2022 20:15

Thank you @HappyThursdays you too!

Passthecake30 · 06/01/2022 21:46

@Benjispruce5 when my ds had Covid back in October I had exactly all the same symptoms and felt rough and consistently tested negative on both LfT and PCRs. I avoided mixing with people but it’s easier for me than others (wfh)

Lucyloo49 · 06/01/2022 21:57

@Jobseeker19

If the vaccine doesn't stop spread then why are the isolation rules different? Why are some industries insisting on workers being jabbed? Why are the flight rules different?
Because they want everyone to be jabbed.

Hope everyone is doing ok xx

Exhausteddog · 07/01/2022 14:43

What would anyone advise for a contact taking lfts, in the same household?
3 of us tested positive at NY. Ds didn't (he had covid in November and none of us got it but I suspect that was delta whereas we prob have Omicron)
We're all on day 7 and tested positive yesterday and today (DH line was quite faint today) DS has continued to test negative, but if we're still testing positive does that mean we're potentially still contagious and he should test for 10 days?

cliffdiver · 07/01/2022 15:54

Day 8, still positive.

Sore throat has come back.

Benjispruce5 · 07/01/2022 16:16

@Exhausteddog none of us got it when DH had it . It’s his day 9 today. I’m testing until day 10 as it feels safer to me but test and trace told me to test for 7 days or until 8/1 whichever is earlier. I’m going to 8/1(day 10)

LethargeMarg · 07/01/2022 17:24

Day ten for me and finally got a negative lateral flow (needed to go back to work )
I have felt a bit wiped last couple of days and cough is very persistent but I'm so excited to be able to escape captivity tomorrow !!

WreckTangled · 08/01/2022 09:13

Day 10 still positive. Out of isolation tomorrow but who knows if I'll get the negative to be able to go back to work...

cliffdiver · 08/01/2022 09:57

Day 9 and I finally got a -ve LFT.

Still coughing and feeling tired.

Need to get up for work at 6am on Monday, no idea how I'll do that!

HappyThursdays · 08/01/2022 10:19

I'm on day 3 (thought it was day 4 but have now realised how they are counting!). Think in reality it is day 4 and I gave the first day of symptoms wrong. Only me and ds (adult) have it. 3 other adults in the household are still negative. Ds is now completely fine. I am ok but have a lingering cough. I haven't done an LFT yet as we haven't got many and I'm saving them for the tests next week!

nopenottodaysatan · 08/01/2022 13:04

Day 6 for me and still feel terrible. Awful headaches and fatigue have being the main symptoms, im so over it, really hoping to be better by mon (which is when il be testing next).

Benjispruce5 · 08/01/2022 15:35

DH absolutely fine now on his day 10. He even did Park run in 25minutes.Hmm Meanwhile feel crap and I’m negative. Confused

NonBlogger · 08/01/2022 16:58

I'm on day 6 and strong positives still. I felt ok for the first 5 days but I feel like crap today. Nobody else in my family is testing positive.

whataballbag · 08/01/2022 18:31

Day 6 still very positive for me Angry

HappyThursdays · 08/01/2022 19:45

@nopenottodaysatan those headaches are just dreadful, by far the worst symptom for me!
