Day 3/4 here (positive LFT and cough on Boxing Day evening). So far my symptoms have been: day 1 and 2 very dry cough and tickly throat. Day 3: blocked sinuses, headache. Day 4 (today): runny nose, sneezing.
Thankfully I haven’t had any body aches, vomiting or extreme fatigue - I’m tired but DC are not sleeping at the moment so don’t think that’s a Covid symptom!
So far fairly mild for me thankfully. I had my booster 4 days before testing positive so may have had some extra immunity I guess.

How long did people test negative before from symptoms to testing positive?
I had contact with someone positive on NYD, this was outside but we were close at times. Yesterday I had the start of a cold, testing negative on LFT. Today I feel crap, streaming cold, headache, lethargy (had to go back to bed) bit of an on off tickly throat and tingle in the nose yet still negative on LFT but I'm just wondering if I might test positive over the coming days as a lot of these symptoms sound like most of the ones written here! It's day 4 since exposure. Had to come to work today and feel guilty but I've had this many times before!

dinkydoodah · 05/01/2022 16:38

My LFT was negative 2 days after my positive PCR. This was 5 days after both my children had positive PCR's. I'm now on Day 9 and still testing positive. Symptoms minimal but still wiped out ,achy and spacy

It's 3-5 days after exposure generally so I'd book a pcr test just in case
crochetcrazy1978 · 05/01/2022 20:06

Day 5. Started off with bunged up snotty nose for the first two days but otherwise fine. Positive pcr on day 3 (positive lft day 2, didn't test the day before when symptoms started) . Each day I feel a little worse. Today the snottiness has gone but my sinuses have a burning sensation. Vertigo, headaches, fatigue, anxiety, heart palpitations occasionally (I'm prone to these when anxious) brain fog. Still strong positive on lft today, hope I turn a corner soon. I'm triple jabbed

CrazySnakeWoman · 05/01/2022 20:20

Day 3. Feeling progressively worse.

Kara198 · 05/01/2022 22:09

@crochetcrazy1978 and @Choccymumma
You both sound the exact same as me
I'm day 8 today, bright white and purple spots in front of my eyes, awful vertigo, so light headed, confused, no appetite.
Feeling sad 😔 I just want to be better.
I hope everyone else is feeling better soon

RickyZooom · 06/01/2022 09:36

Day 11 for me. I started testing negative on day 7 so thankfully have been able to get out and about the past few days. My chest finally feels like it’s clearing - not coughing up green gunk anymore although I still have a bit of a tickly cough. Otherwise I feel back to normal.
Hope everyone starts feeling better soon! Flowers

Day 11 for me and its definitely a good day, bad day type thing. Yesterday was alright, today, I'm coughing, achy and knackered again! However I do feel I'm improving a little every day.

scooterbear · 06/01/2022 10:01

Day 11 here too. I felt exhausted yesterday. Slept a bit better last night. Woken up with bad ear pain back and a bit of a sore throat. Fed up with it now.

Choccymumma · 06/01/2022 10:13

@scooterbear I was wondering how you are? We seem to be the same.

Momof2boys1girl · 06/01/2022 10:19

Day 7 here, still strong positive. Feeling awful 😢 sinus pain is awful, feeling congested but not bunged up. I’ve had a headache now for 8 days straight!

scooterbear · 06/01/2022 10:24

@choccymumma We do! Are you triple vaxxed just out of interest? I couldn't get my booster as I broke my arm the day it was booked. Want to book in for it again but also worried it will make me feel worse again when I have it! (Does anyone know if you have to be 14 days clear of Covid before booster? I think that was the rule?)

Puffalicious · 06/01/2022 10:26

Gosh, I've just found you all. I'm day 12 (positive Xmas morning Xmas Confused) and I'm exhausted. I went through the fever/ cough/ back pain/ shivers/ sleeping loads which have all lifted but I'm absolutely exhausted most of the time. Was due back to work yesterday but I just couldn't have contemplated it at all. I'm never off and feel awful, but I just can't.

This is my 2nd time (Sep 2020 before) and this is far worse despite all vaccinations. DH and DC3 also got it but they're now fine. DC1 and 2 remained negative. I just can't understand why I'm so, so tired.

How's everyone else?

Pleasedontdothat · 06/01/2022 10:27

This has been really interesting to read - thank you all

Day 6 here ..

Day 1 - woke up feeling fine but gradually over the morning developed a very sore throat (felt like sandpaper) and completely lost my appetite. Felt wiped out so went to bed in the afternoon for a few hours. I’d been doing LFTs during the week as we had a few social things and they’d all been negative but I did one on Friday evening and it was a very strong positive
Day 2 - sore throat, aches, very tired
Day 3 - sore throat marginally better, still tired, snot started
Day 4 - snot, tickly cough, throat better, not so tired
Day 5 - woke up feeling not too bad so tried to do some work (wfh) but sore throat back with a vengeance, snot, tired - feeling worse again
Day 6 - very sore throat, snot, dizzy, tired, fed up

I had my booster in October, am mid-50s, usually very healthy, not overweight

No I didn't make it to my booster either as both my kids came down with it so I caught it beforehand.
My understanding is you have to wait 30 days now.

scooterbear · 06/01/2022 10:42

I'm actually thinking the 30 days are for the best tbh as I want to feel much better before I have it.
I'm also off work today. Tried to go back yesterday wfh and couldn't-combination of broken arm and just feeling wiped out. Feel terrible about it but it is what it is at this point.

scooterbear · 06/01/2022 10:44

Obviously I'm trying not to (and failing) to read about bloody long Covid which isn't a happy thought.

2022HereWeCome · 06/01/2022 14:26

@sociallydistained
I had a bit of a sore throat and almighty headache on 30 Dec but tested negative on LFT. Positive result didn't show on LFT until 1 Jan ie 2 days later. Confirmed as Covid by PCR. I felt worse the two days the LFT was showing negative - by the time the PCR was done I was feeling a lot better although nose streaming by this time and a v mild intermittent cough. I'm day 6 from positive PCR (day 8 from when I thought I had Covid) and mainly feel tired with some loss of sense of smell.

Choccymumma · 08/01/2022 10:13

Day 13 (yesterday) felt really like my old self. Managed to walk ro meet my daughter from school although I was knackered after.
Day 14 (today) woken up full of cold again and muscle aches and pain.
Seem to alternate between a good day and a bad day. Really cheesed off.

Lifeisnteasy · 08/01/2022 10:25

Day 2, but tested this morning. So far just a tickly cough & feeling a bit ‘off’. The cough made me do a lft but otherwise was preparing to just get on with my day.

Bluntness100 · 08/01/2022 10:26

I tested positive on the 4th, which I think was was day three. Today I am fine but still testing positive. I had the same symptoms as you did initially.

Baxdream · 08/01/2022 10:29

Day 9. Feel worse again! Cold has reappeared and just feel exhausted and rundown.
I'm off sick from work still and can't fathom how I'm going to work Monday!
I'm triple jabbed too and a keyworker so have been exposed to covid throughout and this is my first bout of it

Pleasedontdothat · 08/01/2022 12:48

Day 8 here - still testing positive but the line is a bit fainter. Still feeling ‘cold-y’ - the worst bit is I’m unbelievably tired - I had to go and lie down again after being up for a couple of hours and I really can’t see how I’m going to be up to working on Monday. Feeling thoroughly fed up now - weirdly no one else at home has come down with it so far which is one good thing I suppose

scooterbear · 08/01/2022 14:38

@Choccymumma this is uncanny. Also felt ok yesterday. Managed an hours round trip walk into town and back-knackering but I did it.
Wouk up today feeling full of cold, knackered, ears blocked and a bit chesty again. It's getting ridiculous now!

Choccymumma · 08/01/2022 14:46

@scooterbear this is weird, are you me? Grin so fed up now, but glad that we're the same! Smile
