Day 3/4 here (positive LFT and cough on Boxing Day evening). So far my symptoms have been: day 1 and 2 very dry cough and tickly throat. Day 3: blocked sinuses, headache. Day 4 (today): runny nose, sneezing.
Thankfully I haven’t had any body aches, vomiting or extreme fatigue - I’m tired but DC are not sleeping at the moment so don’t think that’s a Covid symptom!
So far fairly mild for me thankfully. I had my booster 4 days before testing positive so may have had some extra immunity I guess.

@UndertheCedartree I still the jittery feeling but not as often as the days go on. Feels like my heart is pounding but its not.

dinkydoodah · 31/12/2021 20:34

Day 5 - no sleep at all last night despite feeling exhausted. Wide awake until about 5am then slept until 11am. No appetite and feel weak and dizzy. Feel oddly wired too. Hope you lot can try and enjoy tonight and if not here's to better days soon 🥂

Choccymumma · 01/01/2022 08:29

Day 7,
Today the cold part seems to be worse. Tickly cough driving me mad, face feels sore, all the muscles in my neck and head hurt from coughing and sneezing so much. This is the worse part now and I look like a bag of spanners Sad

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 01/01/2022 09:56

@Choccymumma

Started feeling ill on boxing day, achy and sleepy. Day 4 now, tickly cough, blocked and runny nose Confused achy, It feels like flu to me, I'm a bit unsettled and jittery if that makes sense? Double vaxxed, worried i didn't make it to my booster.
Are you taking the paracetamol plus which has caffeine in it? That makes me very jittery, so avoid it.
Choccymumma · 01/01/2022 10:00

Thanks, but no just paracetamol

TheLesserOfTwoWeevils · 01/01/2022 10:48

Day 4 here.
Day 1 was cough, sore throat and tiredness, negative lateral flow. Up all night with chills and fever
Day 2 cough, sinus headache, body aches, tiredness and fever
Day 3 cough, runny nose, sneezes, tiredness, headache, sense of taste and smell vanished, finally managed to get a PCR test
Day 4 positive PCR result, cough, headache, tiredness, runny nose, chills are back as well.

Last time I felt this unwell was when I had flu as a teenager. I'm double jabbed but not boostered as I hadn't managed to get an appointment until next week and didn't want to drag my kids along to a walk in centre (I had no childcare this week or last week)

RickyZooom · 01/01/2022 11:02

Day 6 for me. Just had a faint positive on LFT.
Don’t feel too bad overall but have a horrible dry, hacking cough which is productive in the mornings. Really hoping that goes soon!

Now at Day 8. My ears are ringing, my teeth are aching, I'm still snuffly with my sinuses and fatigued. Sick of my voice being croaky. I'm fully vaccinated and had my booster. Starting to feel fed up and miserable today. It would have been easier if my OH tested positive also but I've got the added stress of keeping him in the clear, it's all so bloody lonely.

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 01/01/2022 11:37

Day 6 but Day 5 isolation (since first positive day/symptoms day is ‘day 0’)

Dizzy/lightheaded
Congested nose/coldy feeling
Cough
Appetite improved

DH tested pos on LFT yesterday and so today is day 1 for him, he’s at the ‘husk of a human, curled up in bed’ stage.

MagentaRocks · 01/01/2022 12:47

Day 6 now. Still testing positive on lft. Feeling horrible. Didn't sleep a wink last night. Ended up getting up at 4. Really hoping that I can get a decent sleep tonight.

Lostoldusername · 01/01/2022 14:29

I'm day 12 from positive LF and testing negative for past 3 days.....feel really tired and my blocked ears/ringing isn't easing up.

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 01/01/2022 14:42

You don’t need to test once your 10 days are up, @Lostoldusername. Or are you somewhere other than England?

123456LA · 01/01/2022 14:43

I'm day 4 from onset of symptoms. Tested positive on lateral flow on Thursday, waiting on PCR results from my test yesterday.

Started with a really annoying tickly throat. Developed into a dry cough, bit of nausea and a temp that comes and goes. Slept on the couch for 4 hours yesterday afternoon.

Today I still have the horrible dry cough, burning sensation in my chest and congestion in my nose/sinuses. I'm triple vaxxed too

scooterbear · 01/01/2022 16:05

Day 6... ears still a bit painful but mainly just fatigue today. But that's an improvement so I'll take it! Also feel a bit doomy but that's Standard for New Year's Day to be fair x

Cherrypie32 · 01/01/2022 16:18

Day 6 off positive pcr, day 7 of symptoms. Can totally identify with the ‘up and down’ days. Thought I was doing well yesterday, got dressed, did some light jobs, took down the Xmas decs, stayed up for midnight but couldn’t sleep even though tired. Today woke with unmoving headache/sinus pain and terribly tired again. Have spent all day lazing in bed.

Choccymumma · 01/01/2022 18:18

Anyone hurt from coughing and sneezing?

RickyZooom · 01/01/2022 18:41

@Choccymumma I was literally just googling how long a post Covid cough lasts! I know it’s only day 6 for me but so fed up of it already. Coughing so hard my back and my chest are hurting, plus my throat. I’ve had bad coughs before and I know they take ages to go Sad. I don’t feel too bad otherwise just wish this cough would go!

Day 3, just had cold symptoms really, tickly throat, tickly cough, banging headache in day 1. Thought I was doing great today then the past couple of hours I’ve been shaking like mad, I feel so cold and can’t warm up, whole body covered in goose bumps. Temp is 37.3 so not particularly high. Bizarre. Had heated blanket on but not doing the trick so having a hot shower now… it’s very up and down

YourTruthorMine · 01/01/2022 19:27

Day 6 today and feeling a bit better, cough is now chesty, I'm still slightly tired with zero taste or smell. LFT is still positive, was hoping to be clear by Tuesday, but don't think that's going to happen

keepmovingslow · 02/01/2022 01:33

Day 5/6 for me.

Tuesday I felt throat ever so slightly scratchy but I get that often and it's usually dust or something so didn't bother.

Wednesday - throat definitely sore. LFT negative.

Thursday - throat still sore and feeling hot. LFT positive. By Thursday evening felt a lot of chest congestion and was a little breathless kept getting like stabby chest pains.

Friday - throat better but nose a bit runny. Still hot. odd cough.

Saturday - nose stuffier and runnier at same time. still hot. odd cough.

I'm finding it hard emotionally though. I'm stuck in my room as isolating from my DC (12 and 16). Going stir crazy at not getting out and about either. Youngest's father is being stressful to me. Feel dirty because we only have one small bathroom so trying to use it as little as possible for washing.

I'm in Scotland so I have another 7 days.

Ringonrighthand · 02/01/2022 06:31

For those who can’t sleep I recommend liquid night nurse, last two nights have been a game changer for me. That said my symptoms have also slowed right down so could be combined.

I’m day 6 today but undecided whether to bother with lft as my daughter tested positive yesterday so I can’t go anywhere for a while anyway!

Peanut82 · 02/01/2022 06:39

Day 7 for me today. Yesterdays lateral was very faint positive so I'm hoping today and tomorrows are negative, don't feel too bad but I seem to have lost my sense of smell now

Ringonrighthand · 02/01/2022 09:32

Day 6 just tested negative

Choccymumma · 02/01/2022 10:56

Day 8, snottiness seems to be better but my god I ache today. LF still positive

RickyZooom · 02/01/2022 11:33

Day 7 and had a strong negative this morning, yay!
Feel pretty much back to normal apart from a bit of a cough now. Weirdly I threw up after coughing yesterday and instantly felt better. It was like I vomited the covid out of me Confused
