Day 3/4 here (positive LFT and cough on Boxing Day evening). So far my symptoms have been: day 1 and 2 very dry cough and tickly throat. Day 3: blocked sinuses, headache. Day 4 (today): runny nose, sneezing.
Thankfully I haven’t had any body aches, vomiting or extreme fatigue - I’m tired but DC are not sleeping at the moment so don’t think that’s a Covid symptom!
So far fairly mild for me thankfully. I had my booster 4 days before testing positive so may have had some extra immunity I guess.

Day 1 - Christmas night, suddenly had such sore hips back - agony but put it down to playing on the floor Hmm

Day 2 - woke up feeling like a really bad cold - tested pos on lat flow - all over body aches, temp, nausea - felt really bad all day. Everyone had also gone home at this point so had to phone round everyone with the good news!

Day 3 - aches and headache nausea on and off

Day 4 - thought I was feeling better - was wrong! Comes in waves of feeling ok then rubbish!

Day 5 - same as day 4 periods of feeling ok and terrible.

Day 6 - today - awful headache feel like back to day 3. Hoping will pass soon. So fed up.

No real appetite all throughout. Also feel jittery and really low. I live alone and I am hating feeling ill and being alone. Everything feels like such an effort - getting a drink even.

Feel quite pathetic due to all the talk of it just being like a cold as it's so not like a cold for me!! I'm normally a trouper, but it's really knocked me.

Hope we are all feeling better soon Smile

MagentaRocks · 30/12/2021 12:30

@PurpleCushions it is like a cold for some and not for others so no need to feel pathetic. Mine started like a cold but is so magnified from that now. I know people who have had it that barely know they had it, and others who weeks and months later are still suffering the after effects.

All we can do it get through it the best we can.

Mindthegaps · 30/12/2021 12:39

27/12- I woke up with a sore threat, it felt like my throat was on fire as well which has never ever happened before. I just knew it was covid. I did an LFT which was positive. I was able to book a PCR the same day. Stuffy head by the evening.
28/12 - sore throat, tickly cough, vomiting & diarrhoea and general flu feeling. Positive PCR result.
29/12 - horrendous dry coughing the entire day & night! I haven’t slept properly in days. Slightly breathless & tired. Headache.
30/12 still coughing a lot but feels more chesty & slightly mucusy (sorry!) I feel like I need to give my chest a good punch and loosen things up. Slight headache, snotty but no aches.

Mindthegaps · 30/12/2021 12:42

Sore throat not threat!

DaveDave · 30/12/2021 12:47

Day 1: sore throat and headache.
Day 2: sore throat and worse headache, accompanied by fatigue. Lower back pain.
Day 3: sore throat, headache, sneezing and exhausted. Lower back pain.
Day 4: sore throat, headache, sneezing, exhausted. Back pain gone.
Day 5: worst yet - slept 15 hrs, sore throat, headaches, sneezing and stuffiness. Dizzy.
Day 6: today - much better! Lack of taste suddenly come on though

LaChatte · 30/12/2021 12:49
 1. Still feel like shit.
Estara · 30/12/2021 13:16

I'm on day 6 now. Started on Christmas day night with a scratchy throat and a bit of a cough. Negative LFTs prior to Xmas. Had a PCR on day 3, came back positive on day 4. Today is the first day my throat hasn't felt like razor blades but my nose is blocked, ears are popping, the odd cough and my teeth ache. I'm so tired. I'd been relagated to the bedroom for days so I've ventured downstairs today and not managed to move much from the sofa yet. Noone else has tested positive, only me so far..

scooterbear · 30/12/2021 13:24

Day 4 since positive test. Fatigue, head ache, ear ache, snotty nose and slightly tight chest. Worst I've felt so far. Yesterday I had the cough and sore throat which seem to have gone. I'm so fed up of this now.

scooterbear · 30/12/2021 13:31

Also feel really weird and jittery. Thought that was just me so glad other people have had that too

dinkydoodah · 30/12/2021 14:12

Yep, I've had the weird and jittery thing too. Comes and goes, very odd

Choccymumma · 31/12/2021 08:03

Thought I'd update you to give you hope!
Day 6 here, first day I've woken up feeling better. I'm still coughing and nose streaming but I think I've turned a corner.
Its only little steps but fingers crossed...

scooterbear · 31/12/2021 08:13

I'm on day 5 and also woken up feeling a tiny bit better I think. Sure throat and slight ear ache but far less shitty than yesterday. That said I don't fully trust it as it seems to ebb and flow for people. Main improvement is that I've woken up feeling less doomy that I have done in previous days, which is a relief as I was starting to think I'd never see the light again!

Yes exactly that. I know it comes and goes and fully expect to feel crappy again at some point but it's the first day I have felt more me. Glad you're on the mend too.
Peanut82 · 31/12/2021 08:42

Day 6 here. Feel loads better than I have but still not 100%
Lateral still positive this morning and still awaiting pcr results

RickyZooom · 31/12/2021 09:54

Sorry to bring the thread back down but… day 5 for me and I feel worse Sad
Feels more “flu-ey” now with green snot and coughing up a bit of green gunk. Not lots but it’s there. Hoping it’s my immune system kicking some ass and tomorrow will be the turning point for me!
Probably because I had a chest infection in early December, I was always worried Covid would flare that back up again. Thankfully I don’t feel as bad as I did then (so far) which is a silver lining.

Day 7 for me and after yesterday being quite a good day and feeling better, today I am back to feeling dizzy and nauseous with an odd feeling of my head burning up now and then.
Have had no cold symptoms except two sneezes a few days ago.

I had my booster 16 days ago and had these exact symptoms for a few days.
Sadly my appetite hasn't gone away, for me it is nothing like flu.

TheVanguardSix · 31/12/2021 10:37

Around day 13. Tested + on the 20th but had symptoms before then.
I was doing quite fine but the headache came back yesterday and an earache. I had a relentless, cracking headache at the beginning. Admittedly, this headache is milder but still, pain killers don't touch it. I'm also a snot rag with a cough. I can cope with it all, I just feel a bit low.
I'm finding my brain a bit fuzzy. I've got forms to fill out for a divorce and I literally can't face them (which is normal at the best of times, but I feel too fuzzy in the head to do them).

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 31/12/2021 10:55

@BalladOfBarryAndFreda

Day 4 post positive LFT (day 3 isolation). Felt better yesterday. Feel worse today. Tired and the achy bones and head are back. Plus I’m incredibly thirsty.
So, Day 5 now (day 4 isolation)

Having a good day today, it just feels like a cold. Blocked nose, sneezy, snotty, bit of a cough and ringing in my ears.

DH returned a positive LFT today though. No PCRs either local or postal.

scooterbear · 31/12/2021 14:15

Spoke to soon. Wiped out and nauseous now. Going to get back in bed and hope to feel a bit better later so I can at least have a tiny drink for New Year's Eve ffs!

TooWicked · 31/12/2021 14:27

Day 18 here and I don’t want to jinx myself, but I can very tentatively say that this is the first day that I’ve felt something like back to normal - Well I’ve got to 2.30pm and I’m not yet feeling too fatigued so fingers crossed.

MajesticWhine · 31/12/2021 14:36

Day 8.
Feeling quite well. Still a few residual symptoms like slight sinus congestion and earache.
Bored shitless.
Still testing positive.

UndertheCedartree · 31/12/2021 15:29
@UndertheCedartree the jitteryness scares me a bit. It comes over me in waves and I feel unwell. Does that make sense to you?
Yes, I know what you mean. How are you feeling now? I find trying to distract myself from it or something to feel more relaxed helps a bit.

Peanut82 · 31/12/2021 15:39

Just got pcr results...positive as expected

scooterbear · 31/12/2021 15:41

How strange, we seem to be following the same path. I'm wiped out now, want to sleep but can't.
