No idea which day I’m on - I have a rare innate immune system disorder.
Started with a low-grade fever on Xmas Eve in the afternoon. DH tested strong positive on Xmas Day on a LFT and got an immediate PCR (+ve). He had fatigue and cold symptoms.
From there, I had seven/eight days of low-grade fever, muscle pain, joint pain, mouth ulcers, roiling nausea, itching, dry eyes, sweating, anxiety and a burning feeling in my throat, windpipe and sinuses like I’d inhaled a noxious gas. It got worse when I was in a room with DH and, a few days later, my toddler DS. I started opening windows. Eventually, on 30th December, the noxious gas feeling reached my chest and I developed a dry cough.
All this time, I was testing negative on a LFT. Then, on 1st January, I tested weakly +ve on a LFT and got a PCR (+ve). That evening, I felt hot for about three hours and all the burning pains disappeared. The next morning, I felt better until about 11am when I was abruptly tired for an hour or so. I rested in bed.
Today, I tested a strong +ve on a LFT and am slightly tired, slight cough, slight itchy throat, slight back pain, occasional faint shivers - WAYY better than last week. However, I keep expecting to get really ill - given I now have a symptomatic infection and I didn’t before…
So, I’ve no idea which day I’m on… I’m going to LFT until I test -ve twice and leave self-isolation at that point.
It does go to show just how differently omicron can affect people though.,
