From living in an area that thankfully had low numbers in previous waves, it’s been the opposite this time and I’m surprised how many people I know currently have it. Some of them aren’t sure where they’re catching it either (no kids/jobs); are triple jabbed and ‘careful’ with mask wearing etc.

  1. 6 have no or cold-like symptoms, for the others it’s more like flu, but she’s over the worst.

Zero and during the whole thing, just one person.

Abraxan · 29/12/2021 21:18

Personally, right now, only 1. 20y, double jabbed but due booster.
So far her parents and little brother, and grandma - all been in close contact - are negative. Parents and grandma are triple jabbed. Little brother has had his first and is due his second early January.

DD's friend's mum is positive too. So far daughter is negative. No idea on their vaccine status.

I knew many more last autumn than this year, but that's because so many of our teachers all caught it at the same time. Knew several who had it this November/December, mainly school contacts and mostly children under 12. Know a couple of double jabbed people who had had it decently, both due to have booster in the month they caught it.

Loads.I live in London and there's a huge amount in my circle. My son just tested positive on a lateral flow without any symptoms 🤷‍♀️

BogRollBOGOF · 29/12/2021 21:36

Me! A couple of relatives that I've had no contact with too, nor they with each other.

Quite a few via regular social media contacts, but that's a much larger pool.

If this was 2019, it would be a totally unremarkable cold so far... Fortunately my throat started tingling and the LFT+ positive after a quiet week and before I was due to see family.

...

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 29/12/2021 21:43

Just one. Only found out today as a friend text to say her partner had it. Other than that I know no one at the moment who's got it. And I live in an area where apparently it's 'rampant' And one of the highest in the country

All mild

stairgates · 29/12/2021 21:54

All 12 members of my household, all mild, I think someone past it to the baby and we've all kissed him as all had positive on same day

IWannaWishYouANutNutsChristmas · 29/12/2021 21:57

None.

But the kids don't go back to school until next week.

bluesky45 · 29/12/2021 21:59

Zero that I actually know. A few people I follow and occasionally chat to on Instagram have it. Think I only know 7 people that have had it at all in almost 2 years

inheritancetrack · 29/12/2021 22:00

None

IDontKnow00 · 29/12/2021 22:09

7

All completely unrelated cases as well, as in no one in the same household or gone to the same event etc.

I'm in my 20's and in London though and it's rife here in that age group.

LynetteScavo · 29/12/2021 22:16

8 (four from work - their partners are also positive, so if you count them 12)

NeverEndingFireworks · 29/12/2021 22:26

As of today - 7 active cases, more than ever at one point. One DC got it for the second time but none of the InLaws they spent xmas with have it. Others have it but their partner hasn't (so far) so it's a non intuitive distribution of cases.

HoliHormonalTigerlilly · 29/12/2021 22:52

About 12

mamaduckbone · 29/12/2021 22:56

None personally but loads of people associated with people I know (SIL's brother, cousins, friends of friends etc)

Whitefire · 29/12/2021 22:59

Absolutely no-one. Then again I only know of very low numbers who have had it all.
