From living in an area that thankfully had low numbers in previous waves, it’s been the opposite this time and I’m surprised how many people I know currently have it. Some of them aren’t sure where they’re catching it either (no kids/jobs); are triple jabbed and ‘careful’ with mask wearing etc.

four.
One colleague and her husband and two friends. I am in London.

alwayscrashinginthesamecar1 · 29/12/2021 00:51

Zero where I live, from the start. But most of my family in the UK have had it, and at the minute one cousin that I know of has it. Weirdly, none of my family in Ireland has had it.

MarchSurprise · 29/12/2021 00:52

Zero - my circle is controversially mostly unvaccinated. A couple have colds and have done negative LFTs.

Whilst unvaccinated we are all taking precautions such as regularly testing, avoiding crowded places and wearing masks.

123namey · 29/12/2021 00:55

Quite a few, more than ever before anyway..
Friend’s daughter
Brother in law’s dad
Friend’s partner (and potentially her too) - everyone at his work have tested positive and they’ve had to close the shop.
My cousin
My other cousin and her husband
My nail girl and the other girl that works in the shop

Then..
My partner just had it last week
My friend also had it last week
My mum just had it the week before

Also worth adding one of my friend’s who tested positive on a PCR was only sent for it because she’s a teacher and when over 20% of the class tests positive here everyone is sent for a PCR and to isolate until they get a result. Hers was positive but she did a lateral flow before it and every day after the result but didn’t once get any symptoms or a positive lateral flow 🤷🏼‍♀️

Approx 8, lots testing positive shortly after schools broke up...more if i include partners of friends/colleagues who ive never met but nonetheless caused household isolation by testing positive

WorraLiberty · 29/12/2021 02:27

12 since Christmas Eve

I do honestly think it's partly due to so many people taking LFTs because of mixing households at Christmas though.

On the plus side, all but one of them have said they've had worse heavy colds, including my 19 year old unvaccinated DS.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 29/12/2021 02:45

None.

BringOnTheOtherWorlders · 29/12/2021 05:15

2 family members right now.

SonicBroom · 29/12/2021 05:23

Loads more than ever before, maybe 20+ right now? Same last week

lightisnotwhite · 29/12/2021 05:29

None but lots of friends of friends seem to have it.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 29/12/2021 05:34

One now, although it was about 15 last week

ShottaSheriff · 29/12/2021 05:37

Five close family members and several friends locally - maybe around 20 people. It feels like a matter of when not if we get it. A staff member at DDs nursery tested positive last week so it feels close.

Useruseruserusing · 29/12/2021 06:24

Just adult DS who doesn't live with us

Tequilamakesmehappy · 29/12/2021 06:31

Zero! We are meant to be bad here in Northern Ireland for infection rates yet I know no one who has it or has had it before.

SantiagoSky · 29/12/2021 06:31

2

Dentistlakes · 29/12/2021 06:32

None. I’ve heard of lots of second hand accounts but nobody I know personally.

Joystir59 · 29/12/2021 06:39

I know five at the moment.

fitflopqueen · 29/12/2021 07:07

None I know of but friend of a friend has just tested positive.

Deeandwizzy · 29/12/2021 07:08

Just the one.

wendz86 · 29/12/2021 07:16

4 people who are family to my children and then lots of the kids / parents in my child’s year at school too from the WhatsApp group .

Arrowheart · 29/12/2021 07:19

...

HailAdrian · 29/12/2021 07:26

4 of my colleagues.

Cornettoninja · 29/12/2021 07:27

4/5 (I think ones due out of their isolation period around now). Tbh that number has been pretty steady since the end of October.

FindingMeno · 29/12/2021 07:28

Not sure, but over the last few weeks more than all of the rest of the pandemic.
