From living in an area that thankfully had low numbers in previous waves, it’s been the opposite this time and I’m surprised how many people I know currently have it. Some of them aren’t sure where they’re catching it either (no kids/jobs); are triple jabbed and ‘careful’ with mask wearing etc.

I think we had around 70 active cases in students the week we broke up, 4 staff. Now, I know 6 households in my family/best friends. Each household has at least 2 cases, worst has 7 as in laws have stayed to isolate after testing positive on boxing day along with the grandchildren. 1 parent in that house job has it too. Not terribly ill but feeling unwell enough for bed/sofa with a duvet.

lashy · 29/12/2021 11:00

Zero

Whyevencare · 29/12/2021 11:00

Zero but then I've only know 5 or 6 cases since the start.

ifonly4 · 29/12/2021 11:00

None.

Our numbers are just starting to go up here and are slightly above the uk average. Very lucky to have lots of local friends and family and no one has it right now. One of my jobs is at a school and I'm sure if that was open, I'd be able to name a fair few who I knew had it (if I was allowed!).

Wineloffa · 29/12/2021 11:16

Loads including myself. Definitely know of more cases now than any other time previously in the pandemic. FYI this is my second time to have Covid..

Roadtripconcept · 29/12/2021 11:26

None at the moment. It could be me , I had to catch two trains yesterday . Both were quite busy . Lots of coughing and nose blowing and very few masks .
I'm just waiting for it now . It seems inevitable this time .

WildStallyn · 29/12/2021 18:13

Off the top of my head, 18 right now. Probably 30-40 others earlier this month.

newfriend05 · 29/12/2021 18:16

the80sweregreat · 29/12/2021 18:18

nancy75 · 29/12/2021 18:22

Right now about 5, a couple of weeks ago about 30 (including DH)

the80sweregreat · 29/12/2021 18:23

When I had it in mid November ( probably delta) i knew two people
Now I know ( or heard of on FB ) loads! Some more ill than others.

sociallydistained · 29/12/2021 18:29

7 personally as of right now.

LadyCatStark · 29/12/2021 18:30

Loads especially people on Facebook.

MajorCarolDanvers · 29/12/2021 18:31

None

DramaAlpaca · 29/12/2021 18:32

Currently more than I've known of throughout the entire pandemic.

Fortunately none are very unwell, though I'm concerned about an unvaccinated CV friend who has just tested positive.

user1469292281 · 29/12/2021 18:32

Zero. One of the DC had a PCR test before Xmas (sore throat and runny nose) but came back negative. September this year we had nearly a dozen cases we knew of (one hospitalised). According to the ZOE app our rated per 100k is well over 2k (we're in East of England) so I'm surprised we don't know anyone who has it.

elotrolado · 29/12/2021 18:32

fabulouslyglamorousferret · 29/12/2021 18:38

20 plus ... again nobody iller than as if they had a nasty cold

SquirmOfEels · 29/12/2021 18:39

Lots - it's going round various of DC's friends (and getting all their siblings too - not heard about parents). One of them is proper poorly, others are a mix of bad cold, headache only or next to nothing

Three of friends have (adult) DC with it, and cancelled Christmas plans.

Plus two others who had early contact with confirmed omicron and were told to isolate, but they didn't get it and are now out

Porcupineintherough · 29/12/2021 18:41

Currently 2. Two weeks ago 6.

QueenofLouisiana · 29/12/2021 18:44

One.
But I’ve known several each week from mid-September. My class has had a couple off every week since then, I caught it early on in the term too.

Chocalata · 29/12/2021 18:46

1 at the moment. Our peak seemed to be around the end of September beginning of October. Sure it will peak again when the children go back to school though.

Firstshoes · 29/12/2021 18:48

Northsoutheastwest76 · 29/12/2021 18:50

About 6

Potatodrivers · 29/12/2021 18:51

None. I havent known anyone throughout the whole thing. My area has been a hotspot twice too.
To be fair, I am quite a loner but no family member has had it or friends.
