Personal responsibility eh? Happy to remember that should any more restrictions be brought in.

Why are you tagging a poster that hasn't posted on this thread?

Helicopterlife · 11/11/2021 15:45

@MercyBooth why are you anti vaccine passport? It’s working perfectly fine and easily where I live

ilovesooty · 11/11/2021 15:48

@MercyBooth it's my impression that you can access a second vaccine but are stipulating which one you want, which narrows your options.

MercyBooth · 11/11/2021 16:16

No @ilovesooty Once again for the hard of thinking.

I HAD MODERNA ON THE 27TH JULY. IM NOT STIPULATING WHAT I WANT , THEY ARE. THEY TOLD ME I CANT HAVE SOMETHING ELSE OTHER THAN MODERNA BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO MIX THEM I WAS TOLD THIS ON THE 26TH SEPTEMBER AND 6TH NOVEMBER , I TRIED TWICE.

THIS IS WHAT I WAS TOLD. I CANT TRAVEL BACK IN TIME TO 27TH JULY AND REVERSE THIS. THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY (AM I GETTING THROUGH YET) ARE THE ONES WHO TOLD ME THEY CANT MIX THEM.

If you dont film this stuff on your phone you dont get believed

As you can see by Exhibit A above.

But if you DO film it its "how dare you film someone like that"

Thank you. I acknowledge fully that I got that wrong. I thought you'd had AZ originally but now wanted Moderna, so I was mistaken. I am not "hard of thinking". My memory was at fault. There is no need to shout.

Sent my sister & bil to get Moderna at YXE walk in. Was on tenterhooks, as they had Pfizer 1st. Luckily they had no issues & they're vaxxed. My husband was not allowed to mix & we had to drive 270 km round trip to find a Moderna. It's very inconsistent.

Go on @ilovesooty

go on twitter and tell her her DH shouldnt be so God damn choosy

Its not surprising though is it. When ive been branded an anti vaxxer on here when ive had the vaccine. What sort of reaction do people expect after that.

It's not necessary to be so aggressive. I have apologised for having misremembered what the issue actually was.
MercyBooth · 11/11/2021 16:28

Fair enough. But they need to address these inconsistencies before branding people hesitant or anti vax

I live in Canada. In our province, you have to show proof of vaccination to go into some places, including restaurants. I download my vaccine certificate to my phone. Easily.

DH and I took our teenaged grandchildren, each with a friend, out for brunch recently. They checked everyone's vaccine certificate and in we went.

No fuss, no muss.

I have no issue with it at all. No one is forced to get vaccinated, but you lose out if you don't. I feel much safer knowing that in an indoor social setting, everyone is vaccinated.

Essential places like grocery stores are exempt.

amicissimma · 11/11/2021 17:00

@MercyBooth

Did you read *@BeyondMyWits post @madisonbridges*
Not making it easy to get a booster is hardly 'coercing' someone into getting it. The opposite I would say.
MercyBooth · 11/11/2021 17:33

Not making it easy to get a booster and then blaming members of the public for not having a vaccine is off the scale manipulative.

OP posts:
Lostinacloud · 11/11/2021 17:44

No one is forced to be vaccinated but why should you lose out if you’re not? It still absolutely flattens me to the ground when I read this attitude on here. What if you needed a pass to go in a restaurant and you couldn’t have one because of your religion? You’re not forced to give up your religion but if you keep it then you lose out. I don’t care I’m in the right religion and have showed my pass to get inside and look at you being turned away. Your choice of religion doesn’t really affect me, I am protected by my religion and beliefs.

You see how ludicrous this idea is? Just because the discrimination is not affecting you, doesn’t mean you should turn a blind eye and not consider the implications of going along with it and being on the apparent “right” side.

And before anyone tells me that religions aren’t infectious viruses that could give you covid, neither is an unvaccinated person that either isn’t infected and is totally well and healthy and capable of making that assessment themselves or have already had covid and so effectively earned their antibody “vaccination” naturally. For the 1000th time, vaccination does not stop spread, you could be sitting inside your restaurant surrounded by covid positive people but it’s ok because their phone turned green when it got scanned at the door!

Lostinacloud · 11/11/2021 17:53

@MercyBooth I’m sorry this matter is causing you so much stress, I know exactly how you feel because I have already experienced this coercion and robbing of my bodily autonomy in France as well as the outright discrimination.
The only way to cope is just to focus on the today and not what may come with regards to all this bollocks tomorrow. The old ‘cross that bridge when/if you get to it’ is the way forward if you can. I can feel the stress through your words and totally understand where you are mentally at the moment. It is not right that world governments have done this to people and I wish more could see it. Sadly, unless it affects them it seems so many don’t and that is ironic when all of this has supposed to have been for the greater good.
I hope you are ok and don’t worry, for now you don’t need that second jab to access life so focus on what you can be getting on with in the here and now until such time as there might be an acceptable option for you.

MercyBooth · 11/11/2021 17:57

@Lostinacloud Thank You Flowers Im watching whats happening in France in horror. The shitshow here regarding the care worker mandates is already beginning to show itself.

@Lostinacloud but it’s not just UK flying solo, advocating all this surely? So if the general consensus in comparable countries is that it’s a good idea (and I guess that’s made on a medical/society basis) then it’s the best we can do to save lives and so the hospitals can cope?

The U.K. is one of the more lax isn’t it?

In terms of covid passes

Julia9299 · 11/11/2021 18:01

👏👏👏 I literally don’t know how people think this is ok, it’s absolutely crazy!
I could maybe understand a teeny bit if taking the vaccine stopped transmission or catching the virus, but it just makes no sense to mandate it. I’m astounded that people think this is ok

SpringKit · 11/11/2021 18:04

@MarshaBradyo - yes I believe we are more lax!

SpringKit · 11/11/2021 18:09

Maybe I’m just too compliant, or maybe I just binge watched a few episodes of 24 hours in A and E today. Just want to do all I can to keep away from hospitals over the next few months, so they can focus on the patients who desperately need them. I’m delivering leaflets to keep my steps up! Booked flu vax and I think I need to wait 6 months for my booster, from last jab.

Lostinacloud · 11/11/2021 18:11

The uk (so far) is one of the more lax countries. There is a big HOWEVER though. I am in Europe and feel like I have seen the future for the uk roll out in front of me. That is why I have become so vocal on here and am desperate for the uk not to follow down the same road. Every last detail started the same here and it’s now starting to roll into the U.K both in rhetoric and action.
First they mandate vaccines for care workers and then health staff. Once that has been roughly accepted as “for the greater good” Vaccine passports are introduced and must be shown to enter most aspects of normal daily life except grocery shopping and emergency healthcare. The staff that work at all these places also need to have a valid pass. Yes, at first the pass is valid with vaccination, negative test up to 48 hours or 72 hours old or covid recovery for 6 months but soon the tests start to be harder to find, start to coat the unvaccinated and now aren’t valid for certain professions. Now we have the passes being made invalid if you don’t want the offered booster. All sense of bodily autonomy and individual risk decision has been taken and now everyone who found themselves at first on the “right” side are equally threatened with being cast outside and so they too have no further choices.

It is abhorrent and I cannot believe it is legal.
