The lawyer could have read the multitude of data sources for the US though. Like the John Hopkins' data from August linked to on here probably a hundred times since it was published

publichealth.jhu.edu/2021/new-data-on-covid-19-transmission-by-vaccinated-individuals

You'll no doubt remember it. It's the one that some people like to use to show the vaccinated can transmit the same as the non-vaccinated. Though they tend to not include the rest of the findings: Just as likely to transmit if they're unfortunate enough to be one of the (statistically very few cf unvaccinated) to be infected in the first place, remembering too that this study is the one about close contact transmission.

@WouldBeGood

Obviously people who want jabs and are happy to get them aren’t being coerced 🙄

That's just nonsensical as an argument.

The coercion is taking the ability to access day to day life away from people who choose not to have a medical intervention. It’s fundamental.

It also makes no difference, as shown by soaring rates in France and Germany. And in the UK we already have very high vaccine take up.

Yes, it is coercion here in France. For those who don't want to be vaccinated, but infection rates definitely aren't 'soaring' here as they are in Germany, at least yet. Average 9000 infections per day but rising.

Depends on whether you regard a life saving booster vaccination as medical intervention?
It’s not coercion when you accept it willingly and very gratefully. Wish the boosters were available for those of us in our 40’s.

As for those saying that the UK has very high rates of take up - I live in one of the four lowest take up areas in the country. Barely 50% of people in my city are double vaccinated. It's frustrating and I'm afraid it makes me feel that vaccine passports are something I'd welcome.

ilovesooty · 13/11/2021 11:00

However, I attended for my booster yesterday and was encouraged to see that the venue was busy.

Yes, I think people are still thinking about last January and February when the UK/England and Wales were at the very forefront of the rollout.

@Ilovesooty, what city is that?

MercyBooth · 14/11/2021 23:32

@frumpety i tried 119 Could not get through to a person Recordings telling me to go to the website and sending me round the houses. They are now talking about boosters for the over 40s Laughable

The policy is totally unnecessary.

Most over 65s are getting all the vaccines offered. I don't know anyone over 65 who hasn't got their 3rd jab. Plus, over 65s aren't the ones spreading it about.
