Anyone else fancy a grouch at having Covid? I’m a few days in, feeling like crap and fed up with the world in general.

Tea and sympathy to anyone in a similar position?

I had a nasty headache on Thursday but put it down to the class I was teaching that afternoon Grin but did LFD which was negative. On Friday DD had PCR as was a close contact at school of someone positive, thought I'd have one as well while we were at the test centre. Mine was positive on Sat lunchtime, hers negative. I did LFD that evening out of interest, big thick line.
Headache now in sinuses and face, exhaustion is a nightmare, cough not too bad. Haven't got dressed for 3 days, usually on 20k steps a day so my fitbit thinks I've dropped dead I think Grin

Sending love to everyone else in the covid club.

@Lollysticks12 you should definitely do that. We are trying to reduce the risk of transmission to our teens by keeping out of the kitchen and shared areas as much as possible. Tbf I think dd2 would likely be low risk as only had it in September.

Not only could they sort their own tea, they could perhaps go further in making some for you!

Having read this whole thrwas I am so grateful I don't have toddlers at home!

Lollysticks12 · 29/11/2021 17:48

@Umbongoumbongo999 they are in the kitchen now. I'm upstairs leaving them to it. I had yesterday's leftover roast dinner. None of us has had it, the 2 youngest had their jabs on Friday so won't be protected as yet.

Are any of the people who had Covid in October or early November still around? I’m 4 weeks in and much improved but really struggling with nausea. It keeps hitting me out of nowhere and is even making me retch. Is anyone else having this after 3-4 weeks? I’m not having fun!

Newbabynewhouse · 29/11/2021 21:59

Hey.. day 5 here, does abybody ekse have a really hoarse voice like youve got a blcoked nose (but your nose isnt blocked)??? Im having another freak out that im going ro end up in hospital :(

Inacountrygarden · 29/11/2021 22:40

Newbaby - I'm on day 7 and my voice became hoarse two or three days ago. It might be slightly better today. I'm definitely feeling better overall but I'm still getting a tickly cough, nausea, loss of taste and smell. Still feeling generally unwell and tired. However I managed a fair bit of work from home today (accounts).
Just had a lemsip max and hoping for a good night's sleep.
Hope you and all others suffering feel better soon.

MrsTumbletap · 29/11/2021 23:02

@Choccyaddict4eva after a weekend of all of us feeling dreadful me and DS with bad colds and DH with covid, I am actually feeling a lot better today.

Still very snotty but no headache, no sore throat etc.

So sick of being ill, feels like we have been ill for the whole of November.

Hope you are feeling better soon!

Just popped in. I was early November.

I am pretty much all done and fine now, but did throw up while running last Thursday - first time ever, no real reason. I've not really got a normal appetite either, but that won't do me any harm. Definitely low level gastro stuff going on, but not much of note.

ParishSpinster · 30/11/2021 00:08

I got it start of November and am doing ok. Coughing less frequently now, just if I've been talking a lot. Its a dry cough.

I want to get back exercising but wary of pushing too hard... Will ponder.

Umbongoumbongo999 · 30/11/2021 08:03

Ugh, eldest dd coughing this morning. I managed to intercept her before she left for college and have booked her PCR. All that bloody sanitizing and quarantining looks like for nothing. If her results come back positive it will be easier to manage the house as we can all mix again.

I read somewhere (zoe app?) that household transmission of delta variant to a vaccinated person is only 25%, so we will be incredibly unlucky for all 3 at risk family members to contract.

Today I am coughing like the clappers, but have had no more fever overnight. I have a headache and sinus feeling still but the incessant coughing not helping. I'm taking today entirely off work too. I may resume wfh tomorrow but really feel like rest will be key to a proper recovery.

I hope you all have a better day today 🤞

FrenchyQ · 30/11/2021 09:27

I'm out of isolation this morning. Took my car to charge and walked back home...was so out of breath when I got back.

Andoffwego · 30/11/2021 11:34

Thanks for the reply @RuleWithAWoodenFoot It’s weird isn’t it? Yes - very low level gastric stuff. I’ve had diarrhoea a few evenings over the past week or two for no real reason that I can think of so I’m assuming thats’s tail end of Covid related too. Well done for running though - I haven’t dared to start exercising again yet.

Palosverdesblue · 30/11/2021 12:27

I'm 15 days on from PCR+ and feeling awful, absolutely exhausted with earache, neuralgia and sinus pain/nosebleeds. Dodgy immune system so I am not surprised.

I'm unable to work atm which isn't like me, I really enjoy my job.

Nellodee · 30/11/2021 12:31

I've just made what looks like a really beautiful chicken soup which usually picks me right up when I'm feeling full of cold. With covid, it's just like eating slightly oily hot water with lumps in it. So depressing.

Neversaygoodbye · 30/11/2021 17:40

I'm 3 weeks post initial infection so around 21/22 days. Reading some of the updates it's weird how the virus effects everyone so differently. My main symptom was sinus pain and feeling like I'd been punched in the nose, never had pain like it. The pain has now eased but I'm taking a nasal spray for congestion. I've also been suffering with joint pain, mainly my fingers. I'm back exercising but keeping it to short sessions and low heart rate. Just trying to decide when to have the booster now.

Coviddy · 30/11/2021 19:15

Hi all. Nine days post infection here and one week since my PCR test. Not feeling too awful just EXHAUSTED. My boss is being very good. I'm free on Saturday but assuming I'll still need to take it easy. Hoping I feel better for the weekend after as due to visit friends.

I caught Covid the day after getting my booster. Very annoying!

Rainydays55 · 30/11/2021 19:29

Tomorrow is 4 weeks since I tested positive. Been back in the office since last Monday, feeling ok, still tired but I think that’s mostly due to work being so manic! It was only really half way through last week when I started to feel more normal.
For those of us who have tested positive recently do you feel concerned about the new variant or should we have some protection after recently having what I guess was delta?

loveablequalities · 30/11/2021 20:44

Day 15. Back at work today and I am absolutely gubbed. I can't feel my face. I was so dizzy all day. My joints are sore. My skin is sore.

Wtaf. How is this still so bad?!

I have an insane amount of work to catch up on. I just want to cry.

Coviddy · 30/11/2021 21:22

Those of you who've had time off work - have you been vaxxed?? I WFH so can safely work while isolating. Haven't been firing on all cylinders and my boss has been encouraging me to rest but I feeling calling in sick takes the piss - this is my issue I need to get over I know!!

lampygirl · 30/11/2021 21:49

Can I join?! Day 4 here. Double jabbed but was eligible for the booster next week so not sure how much of the jab is left working. Caught it from a bloke at work who thought he just had a cold which is very frustrating. So far just tiredness and a bit of a stuffy/runny nose. I find concentration WFH is hard going but I can follow a TV programme or read a book OK. None of the ‘classic’ symptoms yet. I’m CV so really hoping it stays like this as that will be an absolute bullet dodge. DP is negative so also isolating from him in the house which is the hardest part at the moment. Very isolating.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 30/11/2021 22:40

I'm double vaxxed and had 3 weeks off work. I cant wfh (teacher) but I wasnt well enough anyway. My headache was bad enough I couldnt read or look at a screen for 4 days. And I then had trouble breathing (probably as much my asthma being unhappy with my having had covid rather than just the covid) so there was no way I was pushing myself to work.

loveablequalities · 30/11/2021 22:51

@Coviddy I can't work from home but I also don't by any measure feel I was taking the piss by being off. I could hardly lift my head off the pillow, I couldn't eat, couldn't look at a screen or barely open my eyes. I've gone back to work and I am totally exhausted. I'm very glad your case has been so mild that working hasn't been an issue for you.

sofakingcool · 30/11/2021 23:34

I'm on day 6 and have this bone aching exhaustion - never felt anything like it before. Not like I want to sleep all day, my body is just heavy and uncomfortable. Also really achy joints and muscles.

No sense of smell and taste is a bit off - like everything tastes muted?

I lovingly gave it to DH and DS too, so at least we can all move around the house together as no one else to get it

Coviddy · 01/12/2021 21:35

The physical fatigue today is mad. Like I've run a marathon and then lifted heavy weights for hours. Feel like I'm dragging myself round the house. Feel comparatively lucky compared to an unvaxxed friend though - they caught Covid the day after me and had to call an ambulance earlier as oxygen levels so low (40 years old, no underlying conditions, not fat, fairly fit)

Palosverdesblue · 01/12/2021 21:40

Day 17 here, signed off by my GP until day 28 with a prescription for steroids and antibiotics today - I’m absolutely wiped out.
