Well that's it then. We have to cancel our holidaySad. This year feels like I have been cursed. I've had two eye operations to stop me going blind, and now this.

DH & I have been doubly vaccinated but the DC are too young.

Aaaaaarrrrggghhh Angry

Sorry but you’re all very disappointing. Op was pinged. If I caught covid off someone who had been told to isolate but chose not to because it interfered with their holiday plans I’d be pretty pissed off. Cancel the holiday. A lot of people who are vulnerable or immunosuppressed can’t have the vaccine. It’s up to us to be responsible. Stay home and get tested.
Remember that you may have killed 100s of people in your lifetime and you don't even know it.

I haven't got the app anymore. So wouldn't even know how many times it would have pinged me since being deleted
JustABloodyMinute · 07/08/2021 14:10

I'm hoping, if you did decide to go on holiday, you're not the person sitting now coughing across from me on the train just now. Happy days.

Don't cough in public... Ever. Fucking murderers. Go kick them in the genitals. How dare they bloody cough outside there home. Cunt.

@JustABloodyMinute

Bloody hell, cough police alert.

My kid has been coughing for 5 weeks now with a post viral cough. Thank the lord his nursery are sensible and let him go in every week.

There’s many reasons why people cough

CorianderBee · 07/08/2021 14:54

If it's the app ignore it. It's constantly pinging for me because I live in a fucking apartment block in London and get the tube.

It's not legally binding.

CorianderBee · 07/08/2021 14:55

Just seen this was Thursday so ignore me

HJ40 · 07/08/2021 15:00

I wonder what all those getting worked up about this are going to do after Monday 16th when you won't have to isolate if double jabbed?

emmadenning · 07/08/2021 20:23

So sad to hear all these comments about not self isolating when asked too. My dads oxygen levels have just been increased tonight as he is really struggling to breath. Im sure if it was your father or your mother or your relative, you wouldn't be so bloody blasé. I hope all of you that have said ignore the rules can live with your conscience when you infect someone

sadperson16 · 07/08/2021 21:17

You can cough and not infect somebody.
You can breathe and not infect somebody.

Nobody knows, thats the whole point.
Not everybody has the app, not everybody tells the truth.

Therefore, best to get on with our lives as best we can responsibly.

SoupDragon · 07/08/2021 21:21

I hope all of you that have said ignore the rules can live with your conscience when you infect someone

Well, they aren't going to infect anyone if they don't have it to start with are they? Especially if they know they haven't actually been a close contact of anyone.

Well if I lived somewhere next to fields and got up for a walk at 5am or 6am and not see anyone...who is that harming. If I saw someone obviously I'd give a wide berth again what is the impact....

If your self isolating you can go in your garden, if you live in a terraced house your much closer to people in their gardens than you are in a great big field!

Apply some common sense first, you know that thing we all have that tells you if something is sensible or not
@SoupDragon , you are an idiot. Im a nice person so I would never want you to experience what I am going through, but if you ever do, I am 100% sure your views will change.
You have no idea what I've experienced. For example, I went to my mother's funeral yesterday.

bumbleymummy · 07/08/2021 22:40

Sorry to hear that @SoupDragon. Hope you’re ok Flowers
@SoupDragon, was it from Covid? I very much doubt it after listening to your comments. That aside, I am very sorry for your loss.
Take your faux sympathy elsewhere. You don't fool me.

Guess what, I had to miss visiting her because I got pinged by the fucking app.

emmadenning · 07/08/2021 22:46

@SoupDragon and I hope you are okay

PrincessAnnaOfArundale · 07/08/2021 23:26

Iusedtobesooomuchfun indeed I could have killed hundreds of people unknowingly. That’s the thing though. Unknowingly! This isn’t unknowingly. To me it’s no different to spreading a disease intentionally. Op has been warned she’s a threat. Don’t try to justify it. The rules should be clearer but ffs we all know the right thing to do.

emmadenning · 08/08/2021 00:03

@SoupDragon, Im really sorry you are so angry towards me, I thought the discussion on this page was for everyone to be honest and open. I apologise if you think my sympathy is false, I can assure you it is not. You are going through what I am dreading I may have too and I honestly didnt meant to upset you.

User7458 · 08/08/2021 05:29

Lots that have the app are those that want paid time off work, nothing to do with protecting others, strange how pings went up when the weather was nice.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 08/08/2021 09:32

@SoupDragon very sorry to hear about your recent loss.

I've always very much been under the impression that a lot of people with the app installed have been looking for an excuse to self-isolate (and have time off work) rather than for the more community-minded reason of keeping others safe and preventing spread of the virus!

sadperson16 · 08/08/2021 10:34

Im sorry but absolutely none of this makes any sense.

The government lost it whn Cummings had his eye test.

Thing about it.....people don't have the App, people have deleted the App, it pings the wrong person and ignores the person who is infected.
Track and trace was a joke....people not filling in the correct details, people ignoring it, ignoring the results.

Masks...not worn properly or consistently.
All we can do is try to hang onto our humanity and common sense.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 08/08/2021 11:27

The problem is that you really need a fit-for-purpose (and everyone) mandatory system not a wishy-washy one that allows for the full range of behaviours from conscientious compliant to belligerent bellends who flout all the rules.

sadperson16 · 08/08/2021 11:45

As I said, the population was compliant.
Now they are not.
That buffoon has blood on his public school hands.
