Literally just posted the same underneath! I think there will be, over 36,000 cases today & 50 deaths... What state will we be in in a fortnight after the euros?

No but I think restrictions will be back.

Exactly! There may still be restrictions but no, I think we'll avoid another lockdown.

It's NOT BROKEN. Don't spout misinformation. It is weakened but not broken.

My biggest concern is what we are going to talk about criticise ,speculate and know what should of been done when this is over.

I don’t understand this. ok you can break the rules by going to someone’s house, what else are you going to do? Go in a pub that’s shut, eat in a restaurant that isn’t open, try on a frock in a shop that’s closed? If it happens it happens, saying we won’t do it is just daft - we have no say over whether we do most of it

That's up to the government.

But given their past form. I expect them to create the conditions where it is necessary.

I really really don’t want to but I can absolutely see an autumn/winter lockdown.

It hasn't been broken. It has been significantly reduced - thank goodness - but if cases become completely ridiculous hospitals will still be overwhelmed.

@whatswithtodaytoday I just don’t buy that the hospitals will be overwhelmed again. Enough people are protected now and boosters will start soon for the winter.

I think now Scotland has made their announcement Boris will change the mask ruling and possibly the WFH ruling he announced yesterday

Look what's happening in NE hospitals. And 20% of the people in ITU have had both jabs. Boris releasing all controls is insanity.

If we are I'm ignoring it. We've stuck by all the rules including Christmas when I know people didn't, and had to work throughout face to face with a section of the public with high Covid rates and little social responsibility. People are out in pubs, thousands at the football (I don't blame them) but I won't be not seeing my family again on my son's birthday or at Christmas.

Yup we will. Boris might call it something else but it will be lockdown really.

I expect that Jan-March will be lockdown season for a few years, in my view.

We have to find ways to adapt to our brave new world.
