Be honest, would you self isolate now?

If you got a message saying you had been in contact with someone who has tested positive and were asked to self isolate, would you?

I wouldn't mix with others but I would leave the house with my family - go to our caravan etc.

ByThePool2021 · 07/07/2021 22:19

Only if it was a close contact through work and my boss had informed me to self isolate. Otherwise no. Double jabbed and had covid last winter. Would rather take a lft every day. If it’s good enough for the government then it’s good enough for me

AnotherDayAnotherCake · 07/07/2021 22:19

Me as an independent adult with capacity to understand? Yes.
Make my DC spend another day locked up? No. Not unless they themselves are positive. As a close contact? No. Not anymore.

PenelopeP1tstop · 07/07/2021 22:21

Absolutely not but I'd be mindful of where I was going

Nope but then don’t have the app.

DD age 7 is currently supposed to be isolating. We are. Sort of. Haven’t taken her into any shops but still seeing family sort of thing.

I’m watching the football, makes the whole thing look like utter bullshit sorry.

Cakeofdoom · 07/07/2021 22:25

Not a chance

Goshitstricky · 07/07/2021 22:25

Yes, of course!

I have 2 out of 4 of my kids tested positive today, we've been so careful and followed all the rules.
Our CEV teen is thankfully double jabbed so I just hope he doesn't get it and get really unwell from it.

We were at a hospital appointment last Wednesday and the team there (resp specialist hospital) are gobsmacked that restrictions are lifting, they're still full and overwhelmed in the necessary areas. I trust them far more than Boris and his bunch of goons!

Chloemol · 07/07/2021 22:26

Yes, and anyone else who doesn’t it very selfish in my opinion

Whitegrenache · 07/07/2021 22:27

Absolutely not

nevertoooldforindie · 07/07/2021 22:27

Definitely yes

Bryonyshcmyony · 07/07/2021 22:28

No but I'd take a few lfts during the week

Blinky21 · 07/07/2021 22:29

Yes bc not a dick

Bryonyshcmyony · 07/07/2021 22:30

I'm double jabbed so won't have to from mid August anyway

Biffsboys · 07/07/2021 22:30

@Cockadoodles

Of course! Can’t believe the people saying no! You’re what’s wrong with this country - and the world to be honest
Turn on your TV and have a look at what’s going on at Wembley!
Tumbleweed101 · 07/07/2021 22:30

Yes, because of where I work and vulnerable family. I'm also able to claim the grant because of low income so would manage ok.

InFiveMins · 07/07/2021 22:31

No

Bryonyshcmyony · 07/07/2021 22:31

Tbh, I wouldn't stay at home, I'd walk my dogs and look after my horses. I would probably avoid shops and wouldn't go near any old people in my area

whatnow90 · 07/07/2021 22:33

Yes. Got pinged today and will isolate for 9 days. Have done a home test which is negative. Just had my 2nd jab less than 2 weeks ago.

coralcavesenormouswaves · 07/07/2021 22:33

I don't fully understand the difference between track and trace and the app? If the app tells you to isolate, will you get checked by track and trace callers?

HarrietOh · 07/07/2021 22:34

When I had COVID last year I did yes. I split my time between mine and DP's house so no way I'd be spending 10 days completely on my own on the off chance I have it again. Would probably LFT and still go between houses.

HarrietOh · 07/07/2021 22:35

No. You do not have to isolate if the app tells you to do so. Only if T&T contact you is it a legal requirement.
saraclara · 07/07/2021 22:38

I would avoid anything that put people at risk. So I wouldn't go to the supermarket or cafes/pubs or use public transport of course. But unlike last time I would go for walks. I'm not going to lock myself in my house again.
It's clear now, where the risk to others is. And we can test every day. So I do think there's something between Yes and No. And that's where I am.

coralcavesenormouswaves · 07/07/2021 22:39

Ok thanks, so the app won't pass on details to track and trace people? Sorry I have tried Googling it and it's not clear!

Maggiesfarm · 07/07/2021 22:39

Yes, any excuse to shut myself away from people is welcome.
