Be honest, would you self isolate now?

If you got a message saying you had been in contact with someone who has tested positive and were asked to self isolate, would you?

Yes.

MrsKDB · 07/07/2021 21:12

No. I don’t understand why people are willing to follow rules that make no sense, made up by an inept and incompetent government who don’t even follow the rules themselves.

I’ve followed all advice up until this point even when it has severely cost my family (financially and emotionally). I had both vaccines when I didn’t really want to in order to protect those more vulnerable than me.

I’m willing to take LFTs daily but not isolate again. The NHS is not overwhelmed, zero COVID was never possible. From august isolation is off the cards anyway so why not now.

LightAsTheBreeze · 07/07/2021 21:13

Only by the NHS test and trace, I don't have the app, don't work and have no children under 18 so unlikely to be contacted any other way.

Odisia · 07/07/2021 21:13

If I was contacted, yes. However I've now deleted the Test & Trace app from my phone. As have most people I know.

Luckyonetwo · 07/07/2021 21:15

No.

Ohshittt · 07/07/2021 21:16

Absolutely not unless someone in my household had tested positive. If my son gets sent home from nursery to isolate we will still be going for walks etc. This time last year I would have absolutely followed the rules. I'm 30 and getting my second jab tomorrow so there must be a hell of a lot of people vaccinated now!

Justmuddlingalong · 07/07/2021 21:16

I would have said yes, but I'm sitting watching the crowds in Wembley and now I'm wondering if it would be like pissing against the wind.

OnePoundfishhhhh · 07/07/2021 21:16

Nope. Don’t have the app and I give me ex-h number if I have to check in anywhere. He was an abusive c&nt.

Alfiemoon1 · 07/07/2021 21:16

Yes

southeastdweller · 07/07/2021 21:17

No way.

Siennabear · 07/07/2021 21:17

No. All over 70s and vulnerable are double jabbed. That was the goal. The posts kept moving.

NFLwidow · 07/07/2021 21:19

I guess it would depend on who contacted me. If I knew a close friend was poorly with covid then yes. If it was track and trace prob not

Tana433 · 07/07/2021 21:20

If i was contacted but as i dont have the app, i wont be so no.

Remmy123 · 07/07/2021 21:20

No - but I wouldn't actively go anywhere v busy either

MrsJBaptiste · 07/07/2021 21:20

Definitely half and half then.

DH has just been pinged by the app, no idea how as I didn't think he even had it switched on anymore, I'm sure most people have deleted it. We've done our bit but God, this is ridiculous now. The majority of the vulnerable are vaccinated, those who aren't are unlikely to get very poorly so let's just get on with life.

Still feel slightly guilt though...

Chillychangchoo · 07/07/2021 21:20

Not a chance.

LightAsTheBreeze · 07/07/2021 21:22

I wouldn't bother if it's just the app.

Zampa · 07/07/2021 21:24

All over 70s and vulnerable are double jabbed

Not true. There are plenty of vulnerable people, including children, who are not vaccinated.

The NHS is not overwhelmed

Also not true. My local hospital was overwhelmed this weekend and extra A&E doctors were called in to cover demand.

BiscuitsNoMore · 07/07/2021 21:24

Nope.
My ds is meant to be isolating. We're going out tomorrow eve for something that's been planned for months. Hes 8 days into it and had had negative lft

DoubleDeckerSwimmer · 07/07/2021 21:25

Yes

disneydreaming · 07/07/2021 21:25

Yes my elderly neighbour who is double vaccinated has just tested positive and is really ill with it.
It is rife in my local area at the minute with big outbreaks caused by people who refused to isolate (one infecting over 30 people on a night out) and several young(ish) people I know have ended up in hospital locally.

I think people who don't are irresponsible and selfish and exactly what's wrong with society.

Batshitkerazy · 07/07/2021 21:25

No

sunshineandshowers40 · 07/07/2021 21:25

I may have to SI. I've been double vaccinated, I will to a certain extent but will drop DC at school/ clubs without getting out of the car. I've had enough.

Biffsboys · 07/07/2021 21:26

No .. I’m sitting looking at Wembley tonight ? WTF

msbevvy · 07/07/2021 21:27

Yes
