Anti-Vax - what is the source?

Two of my good friends have become anti- Vax

We don't discuss it (barely seen each other) but they post a lot on social media about pharmaceutical companies being evil etc

They also attend freedom marches together and post photos of them hugging strangers

I also think they're distancing themselves from the rest of the group. Making plans together and declining invitations to meet with feeble excuse. Maybe I'm just paranoid

But I find myself wondering, where are they getting this info from?

We're all 40s with busy jobs and families. Sensible, educated and (relatively) clean living people. What's gotten into them?

Where do these theories start?

Im white, blue eyed with blonde hair, have degrees, kids in private school, born in Manchester and live semi rurally. Im sure if you did around in my past posts you will find evidence. I'm probably one of the most privileged set of people there is.

Regardless if you think it was worth it, it was a human rights violation. Thats not even getting in to the 47,000 who have since come forward complaining of serious side effects - including being infertile.

you say it was "clinical research" of an untested vaccine, but it was approved and rolled out in other countries many years before this happened?

The most vocal anti vaxxers that I've come across are people who either do or did regularly take street drugs.

The irony of thinking that a drug dealer has your best interests at heart more than any government.

Absolutely that! Why can they not answer questions ever? Never! Are they clones? Easy, simple questions? Why not? It hurts my brain!

They did. The C4 documentary that was mentioned earlier managed to trace 90% of those memes, stats etc back to four individuals or entities.

It's a bit slow to get going, you can skip to the second half and go back and watch the first if you're intrigued by it.

Just glad that someone/anyone was issued contract quickly to manufacture emergency PPE quick. Because global shortage of PPE is quite a huge, massive problem internationally, for every nation during a pandemic. No? Is it not?

Would you have preferred long-winded tenders and all of the time-consuming pointless processes that go with tendering/competing putting in tenders/bids for contracts?

No idea but if they'd handed billions of pounds worth of contracts to their mates I'd not be so deluded as to defend them. I'd be calling it out for the corruption it would be.

So what would you and Labour have done (in hindsight that is) pre-emptitively bought global supplies of PPE before China? Or delayed producing emergency PPE whilst you got through all the red-tape/tendering processes/business procedures etc etc? (Oh, you already answered, nothing, you don’t know - and neither do Labour 🤦‍♀️). Good plan, nice strategy, constructive that one 👍

I'm not anti-vaxx - I've HAD the fucking Covid jab, but I'm rapidly turning into someone incredibly uncomfortable with how the whole thing is playing out and the attempts to silence any possible discussion on it.

I also really do hate the emotional blackmail being used to try to force people into having it - and I loathe the idea that people are cheering on the idea of the state essentially forcing people to have it (or excluding them from education, health care etc) - the road that potentially leads down bloody terrifies me. I'm also not prepared, on a risk-benefit calculation based upon my own family circumstances, to risk the children having it yet.

I loathe how people like myself, with fairly well thought through valid concerns have them just belittled and shoved in with the Wakefield followers etc as "anti-vaxx loons" in an attempt to remove any dialogue about it at all.

I understand that point of view. But why are you not scared about the full genome of this virus itself or it’s origins? Or what it is inevitably doing to western democratic economies (that your children live in) or the whole world (macro-economy-that your children live in! I don’t get that bit?
