Bored of Boris-bashing

I'm not a massive fan or anything, nor do I think the government have made all the right decisions during the pandemic. But I'm just getting bored of the fuckwit Boris letting the delta variant in, fucking moron, etc narrative. I'm too bored of this to waste energy being angry! Like, honestly, it would have got in anyway. All it takes is one case. And if they had "closed the fucking border" and refused to let ANYONE or ANYTHING in from India (which is impractical) it would be branded discriminatory, racist, etc. And meh, New Zealand managed it, whatever - smaller population than London in a larger group of islands than GB&NI. Cannot understand how anyone thinks it's comparable.

I'm just fed up of all the wrath and anger. Honestly, I think the government bashing is making them go freaky-cautious. So it's detrimental to businesses, wellbeing, etc. Yeah, I get this isn't how things work in an ideal world. But the world is not ideal! I just can't bring myself to be pissed off about it.

@WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith

So not only Germany but other european countries hospitals operate "differently" (i.e better) and that decades of underfunding and the lowest number of beds, Doc's, nurses and scanners has SFA to do with (pre CV) the longest waiting lists EU15 and now 5.2m waiting for care?

its very obviously you were not a Labour voter pre Brexit, so don't give us that fucking BS.

HareofEasttown · 13/06/2021 22:27

Agree with you OP

Miaowmi · 13/06/2021 22:27

Fair enough this thread is about Johnson. But I'm just fed up that literally every discussion of anything Covid-related degenerates into "fuckwit Boris" after about 3 posts. I never said people weren't allowed to be "mean" about him.

Id be more intrigued for people to have a detail road map of how they would of achieved success vs how Boris and gov't carried out the plans.

WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith · 13/06/2021 22:31

@jgw1

Its Labour supporters who have caused Boris to mess up everything so much?

Wow, that's really quite special.

😂 that’s not what I said though 😂

Hawkins001 · 13/06/2021 22:32

Do some people just read a few newspaper headlines and then suddenly become more intelligent, or do they study the whole picture and every gov't articles and reports ? To gain a better understanding of the gov't actions ?

No matter how many times I read your posts I have no idea what you are trying to say.
I guess I best go to Barnard Castle to test my eyesight.

As I’ve said upthread, I’ve cut the government a lot of slack on this basis (and I do read the Sage papers etc when I want to have an opinion on something.)

But my absolute ire and frustration is reserved for the decision to keep India off the red list. Not only was it identified at the time as inconsistent in policy terms and a massive risk, but the subsequent data shows the delay period was when Delta was thoroughly seeded into the UK.

If we’d emulated some of our neighbours, we might have been able to avoid importing Delta until our vaccine protection was much stronger - giving us a much better chance of meeting it with a wall of immunity and prevent it getting a foothold in the U.K. and within two months becoming the overwhelmingly dominant strain - which will have longer-term implications for when other countries will be willing to welcome us, as well as increasing pressure on the NHS and delaying reopening.

It was entirely stupid and self-serving. And I’m entirely angry about it.

wondersun · 13/06/2021 22:57

I don't accept that. A flippant remark about people dying in a pandemic. Especially since at the same time I was listening to schools are safe narrative while being sent letters threatening prison and fines of 2.5K for remotely educating my kids. My mother being vulnerable and living with us. Hearing what he was saying and the regard he had for life is sickening.

It was echoed in previous interviews with Boris Johnson about population control. It is obviously how he has been brought up as Stanley Johnson has said similar.

No regard for life, to the point that they forced people into dangerous situations.

No mitigations in schools.

7-8% of CHILDREN getting long covid. No action or acknowledgement. Per ONS survey.

I doubt I will comment again on this thread because if none of this concerns you, and you are still sick of Boris bashing, I am probably better off going to find a really hard brick wall. Be sick of Boris bashing because you want better.

Grossly incompetent at best but history suggests there has been more to it than that; there are the soundbites to prove it. Take a google!

@jgw1

Shock horror! Are u gaslighting me!

Psycho somatic infatic insane 😂

WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith · 13/06/2021 23:03

@JassyRadlett

Fair point. We’re entitled to be angry at the Delta variant. I think it’s going to cause problems too.

WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith · 13/06/2021 23:05

I don’t care how many kids he has, what his wife does, what he said in jest or what has been taken out of context. It’s irrevelant to my (and most people’s) understanding and thinking about politics. Totally irrelevant.

slightlysnippy · 13/06/2021 23:05

@DumplingsAndStew

Carrie, just because you've got to like him, doesn't mean we have to Wink
I just choked on my wine 😂, I don't have to read any further.

Although Boris is a lying slimey toad and the fact that people vote for him amazes me.

ilovesooty · 13/06/2021 23:07

@Miaowmi

It was ridiculously weak leadership that was searching for gratification from popularity.

Alternatively, it was crap decision making by a PM who was tortured by the knowledge that whatever choice he made, it would hurt someone.

It did make them look like idiots, but I could actually understand why that decision was hard to make.

You actually think he has enough social conscience to be "tortured"?

I hate him more than I've ever hated anyone. And no, I won't get "bored".

I suspect anyone "bored" with Johnson bashing (he's not Boris; he's not my fucking mate) has an attention span on a par with his.

WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith · 13/06/2021 23:09

Detailed road map

Oh that shit again. The constant ongoing pressure and insistence for a roadmap. Throughout a pandemic with a novel (that means new) virus that we knew, nothing about, and still know not very much about. Well done Labour, current labour supporters and certain sections of MSM for that one. Disaster.

TruelyonelastSchlep · 13/06/2021 23:11

If you have got bored of bashing Boris have you tried a different weapon

Grin

Seriously I am just relieved people have mostly stopped bringing Brexit into every thread. Doesn't matter what you think of Brexit the mentioning constantly gets tiresome.

Miaowmi · 13/06/2021 23:12

I never said I liked him! I never said I voted for him. I don't even GET a vote. If I had, I wouldn't have voted Tory, as I would have voted for our very decent local Labour MP, who does a lot to support the local community and campaign on local issues.

I'm just saying that the sheer amount of constant outrage outrage outrage is depressing and tedious (in my opinion). There's more to a situation than "soundbites". And it's also point blank scaremongering and untrue to state "7-8% of children get long Covid". Call me a denier, a fuckwit, a selfish idiot, "Carrie", whatever. I really don't care.

Agree to some extent OP. Posters on MN were slamming Trump for wanting to close the US borders in February/March last year. Now they’re calling Boris a fuckwit for keeping them open Hmm

June2021 · 13/06/2021 23:12

Never get bored of calling out incompetent leaders whoever they are.
Make any excuses you want. Be as bored as you want.

Miaowmi · 13/06/2021 23:14

It's got nothing to do with "whoever they are", calling people out is one thing, but constant unimaginative and puerile insults is another Hmm

This is true, so yes if you deny this, you are a denier.

It is not scaremongering to state something factual.
