I'm not a massive fan or anything, nor do I think the government have made all the right decisions during the pandemic. But I'm just getting bored of the fuckwit Boris letting the delta variant in, fucking moron, etc narrative. I'm too bored of this to waste energy being angry! Like, honestly, it would have got in anyway. All it takes is one case. And if they had "closed the fucking border" and refused to let ANYONE or ANYTHING in from India (which is impractical) it would be branded discriminatory, racist, etc. And meh, New Zealand managed it, whatever - smaller population than London in a larger group of islands than GB&NI. Cannot understand how anyone thinks it's comparable.

I'm just fed up of all the wrath and anger. Honestly, I think the government bashing is making them go freaky-cautious. So it's detrimental to businesses, wellbeing, etc. Yeah, I get this isn't how things work in an ideal world. But the world is not ideal! I just can't bring myself to be pissed off about it.

Anyway, the point I was trying to make (unsuccessfully) is that there is a spectrum. Between "greatest PM ever" and "lying moron, throw him in jail". And there's no point, in my ever so humble opinion, in just calling anyone who mildly disagrees with the latter opinion, "Carrie".

Kept a dignified silence, but I’ll say it again. Always voted Labour. Currently can’t believe the self-sabotage from both the party and the supporters. As evidenced on this thread, on FB, Instagram, Twitter and MSM for the last 6 years or so.

OP your argument would have made more sense if they hadn't closed off travel from Pakistan and Bangladesh and left it open to India. They knew of the threat but left travel open for political reasons. I wish they would just own that.

The whole mess we're currently in is down to Johnson making the decision to file the article to support leave. Every single thing that has gone wrong goes back to that.

You are correct that someone is flooding this thread with boring stuff. I think you may be mistaken though that this thread is not about politics since the title seems to suggest that the OP doesn't think that the Prime Minister should be held to account for his incompetence.

My company is getting govt money and assistance thrown at us at the moment to help us trade with China. We are obviously taking it but if I’m honest they probably don’t need a lot of what we offer

Yep. What industry is it? We don’t have many other options with certain manufacturing. Until we develop our options that is.

It all led to the point where Johnson didn't put India on the red list in time to give another month or so of vacc. He couldn't do that because he didn't want to annoy Modi because of needing a deal. Wouldn't need a deal without Brexit. He wouldn't have been the worst PM at exactly the wrong time without Brexit. Brexit wouldn't have happened if he'd not backed it.

My opinion of him goes right back to that moment. He's absolute scum.

I also think the variant would have got in anyway. But I truly hate him and think he’s a massive embarrassment to us all . Not because of the mistakes he has made, but because he has used the tragedy of Brexit and coronavirus to line his own pockets and that of his cronies. He is a psychopath and he doesn’t care about a single person other than himself. He is shafting this country - helped by Murdoch. I give up on anyone who can’t see that .
