Bored of Boris-bashing

I'm not a massive fan or anything, nor do I think the government have made all the right decisions during the pandemic. But I'm just getting bored of the fuckwit Boris letting the delta variant in, fucking moron, etc narrative. I'm too bored of this to waste energy being angry! Like, honestly, it would have got in anyway. All it takes is one case. And if they had "closed the fucking border" and refused to let ANYONE or ANYTHING in from India (which is impractical) it would be branded discriminatory, racist, etc. And meh, New Zealand managed it, whatever - smaller population than London in a larger group of islands than GB&NI. Cannot understand how anyone thinks it's comparable.

I'm just fed up of all the wrath and anger. Honestly, I think the government bashing is making them go freaky-cautious. So it's detrimental to businesses, wellbeing, etc. Yeah, I get this isn't how things work in an ideal world. But the world is not ideal! I just can't bring myself to be pissed off about it.

We had the technology it's a genetic test, it's really not very complicated. We weren't ready because;

 1. We hadn't ordered the reagents
 2. They insisted all tests needed to be done in one superlab.

To say " there were no tests" suggests this is something over which the goverment had no control.

What kind of test was that that picked up asymptomatic cases and cases in between infection/incubation? Because we didn’t even understand that then. I fact China and the WHO were filling us with a load of bollocks then.

Haven’t you thought that maybe Germany’s hospitals operate differently? They don’t have such delayed discharge periods for well patients and delayed/shortage of social workers/social care checks?

Different country, different set-up. We were always going to be vulnerable to the inevitable care home fiasco with covid.

Unless someone had told us the fucking truth about the virus!
Do Germany's hospitals and care system operate differently because the government they have had in power haven't been underfunding them for the past 10 years?

PracticingPerson · 13/06/2021 21:16

@AtlasPine

This. That one day of school in January before the U turn was utterly unforgivable. Such a pointless National superspreader day.
That was an inspirational act of leadership.
WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith · 13/06/2021 21:17

Tests still don’t pick up the long and varied incubation between infection and detectable symptoms. Not to mention high incidence of false negatives 😴

Cornettoninja · 13/06/2021 21:17

@traumatisednoodle

Just looked back through my Whatssapp on the 30th of March 2020 I have written all the evidence points to asymptomatic spread.
It’s an interesting exercise to advance search this forum by date to if you’re interested.

The point is you are supposed to know people who can do waht you need, not resort to giving contracts to people who can;t deliver. Yet another failure, they don;t even know the right people

I agree. It’s almost forgivable in a crisis to utilise contacts if they deliver on what they promised. To use shitty contacts and then not recognise their shittiness and at least publicly demand back money is another level of flaunting how little they think of the general public.

wherewildflowersgrow · 13/06/2021 21:18

Yep, definitely Carrie.

Delete, “because the government they had in power” and then I might consider your question.

WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith · 13/06/2021 21:20

We’ve had ridiculous population growth for over 20years is the answer. Our NHS and social care SYSTEMS are no longer fit for purpose.

traumatisednoodle · 13/06/2021 21:20

Why are you saying tests don't pick up pre-symptomatic infection ? They do, they have been used extensively and effectively in many countries that have controlled the epidemic. Why are we insisting returning travellers test on days 2 &8 ?

WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith · 13/06/2021 21:21

We need to digitalise everything too.

Evanna13 · 13/06/2021 21:25

I think the delta variant would have gotten in, but not so much and so quickly.
I think Boris got very lucky with vaccines and this has meant people have 'forgotton' how badly everything else was handled.
I actually cannot understand how anybody can support Boris , from what I can see he acts completely in his own self interest, absoutley cannot be trusted and does not care about anybody.

And no doubt the current government which has had over ten years to start to make some changes to that, has a clear and coherent plan to improve the situation? Or have they instead tried hard to reduce the funding, while funneling more and more money to their mates in the private sector?

Oh this old myth getting wheeled out again. The issue is underfunding and increased life expectancy. Young immigrants contribute more in tax than they cost in services used.
WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith · 13/06/2021 21:26

If we’d have kept those patients in hospital for repeat testing like u suggest (days 2 & 8) then our hospitals would have gone up in an exponential covid bonfire (worse than carehomes) how many thousands would have spread the infection to every part of our National hospitals.

We will never know that answer.

Why do you all (all the same) think everything is so simple?

WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith · 13/06/2021 21:30

@jgw1

Again NO. You didn’t listen.

Complete overhaul of NHS and Social Care and I.T system isn’t as easy/simple as you think.

Pinchoftums · 13/06/2021 21:31

I am pretty certain any our of Keir Starmer, Theresa May, Tony Blair, David Cameron, John Major or Gordon Brown would have done a better job that the narcissistic, self serving, wanker we have at the moment.

And that is a good reason for not funding them properly and not trying to make them work?

traumatisednoodle · 13/06/2021 21:32

WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith
I think testing patients before discharging them to care homes with in house testing in hospitals would have helped yes.

Are you familiar with the Eisenhower matrix ? It's the unknown unknowns that will get you every time. None of this stuff is rocket science - bloody Boris.

PracticingPerson · 13/06/2021 21:33
@PracticingPerson

No it’s population growth. Quick google “UK population growth graphs” and you’ll see that. Instead of just making things up (lying).
I didn't say population hadn't grown (your reading seems a bit sketchy), but young immigrants and children are not the cause of pressure on NHS or, especially, social care.

Amen to that! Seriously, as one who works with our current systems... It's like trying to race in Formula1 with an old mini.

Anyway, the point I was trying to make (unsuccessfully) is that there is a spectrum. Between "greatest PM ever" and "lying moron, throw him in jail". And there's no point, in my ever so humble opinion, in just calling anyone who mildly disagrees with the latter opinion, "Carrie".

He is a cock. I may as well voted Labour as there is nothing Conservative about this government!
