I haven't sent mine yet (too hot today), says it is going to a research place in guildford.

AzureTwist · 16/06/2021 12:42

Not done mine yet as too hot, but had a text reminding me to do it.

aurea · 16/06/2021 12:42

Ah thanks. I'm near Aberdeen so that may take longer than 24 hours. Does anyone know the max time acceptable between taking sample and testing for an accurate result?

LittleRen · 16/06/2021 12:43

Mine were negative. I sent mine off Monday AM, got the results this morning.

actiongirl1978 · 16/06/2021 12:50

I did my test Monday, put into a priority post box and results back yesterday, I was negative. Not at all surprised, I am in a place which never really got too bad and I only know two families who tested positive in the past 15 months and no-one who got ill.

I work in a school and we only had two children get postives between September and now.

actiongirl1978 · 16/06/2021 12:55

BTW my finger is still sore!

Angel2702 · 16/06/2021 13:03

I ordered via the link posted on this thread, sent it back on Monday and got results yesterday. No antibodies for me, as expected.

amyj606 · 16/06/2021 13:57

Do the results get sent by text, email etc? Thanks

LittleRen · 16/06/2021 14:36

Text and email

GiantGoose · 16/06/2021 16:48

No antibodies here.
Such a fast turnaround, pretty much 24h from postbox to text, impressive!

I sent my test off yesterday and got my result today. I was told that Iwas negative which means that I probably haven’t had Covid in the last six months which seems strange as I had a positive pcr test in January.

I have had both vaccines now so not worried about it.

Bordois · 16/06/2021 17:23

Sent mine yesterday and also got a negative result today

Arcadia · 16/06/2021 20:07

Posted yesterday, no response yet.

GiantGoose · 16/06/2021 21:02

That is strange @55larry.
Wonder how long the average persons antibodies last? Although I believe some people don’t produce them at all and have a T cell immunity instead. It’s fascinating really

Positive for antibodies. (Had Covid in January, so the antibodies have lasted)

Also had Covid in March 2020.

ifonly4 · 17/06/2021 12:17

Sending mine off at lunchtime - it's been too hot to do it here. Expecting to be negative.

conkersarebonkers · 17/06/2021 12:51

Negative here, which was expected.

BlueCherryBlossom · 17/06/2021 13:00

My result said my sample couldn't be processed. I posted it on Monday and was in two minds about the heat- figured it would be ok as it was 22c so under 25... but guessing it spoiled my sample.

Have another kit on the way to try again.

CovidCorvid · 17/06/2021 14:17

I used all 3 lancets and still didn't get the bottle to 400 never mind 600. Only got about 8 drops out my 3 fingers in total!

Arcadia · 17/06/2021 14:32

Negative as expected.

NearlyAlwaysInsane · 17/06/2021 14:41

Posted mine off today. The destination address was some testing facility in Surrey. No problem with the test itself but the vial is tiny (I understand it needs to be) and my fingers are pretty big so it was hard to get the blood into the vial.....let's just say it went everywhere!

Lindy2 · 17/06/2021 14:44

I've just managed to do mine - only just though.

  • first lancet - I accidentally flinched away as it made contact. I was impressed with the speed of my reflexes but it wasn't very helpful when I actually wanted to make contact.
  • second lancet - I got about 1 drop.
  • third lancet - finally struck a flow! I had to squeeze it out a bit but got just over 400ml before it stopped. I think my hand was a little bit wet though from the hot water so I really hope that hasn't mucked up the sample. I couldn't do much about it when I realised as I didn't want to stop the flow.

I found it didn't hurt at all but it is fiddly. I'll be posting it this afternoon.

estherfrewen · 17/06/2021 15:43

Negative here as well. I could have filled a milk bottle I bled that much! DS was positive in late September and we were all in the house together for that fortnight and he didnt isolate from us within the house so I thought it might be positive and I was just symptomless but no.

Doilooklikeatourist · 17/06/2021 17:40

Negative here too , not surprisingly
Very impressed with the speed of the result though
The post only went at 6 pm last night ( from a rural town in West Wales ) and I had my text at 5 pm

Lindy2 · 17/06/2021 18:16

That's a quick turnaround. The Research Centre where the tests go is only a few miles away from me so hopefully I'll get my results tomorrow.
