Just a heads up in case anyone is interested, I just registered to receive a free home Covid antibody testing kit due to being a Zoe Covid app user.

Fountain you mean you have anti bodies, not that you have covid?

I just got my results, I have no anti bodies and it specifically says from infection not vaccine.

I registered days ago but not had a text. I work in health care so was hoping they might select me.

Yes sorry - positive for antibodies.

I’ve just spent some time looking for articles and it seems false negatives are more common than positives.

Is it wrong that I feel pleased by the news? Not in away that I am going to go out kissing and hugging everybody but a tiny bit of relief!?

JanFebAnyMonth · 12/06/2021 16:58

Not at all wrong @Fountain497

Needingsupportplease · 12/06/2021 17:53

No antibodies in mine :( not surprised but abit gutted!

lonelyplanet · 12/06/2021 18:57

I posted the test yesterday afternoon and received the results (negative) at midday today.

Turquoiseraindrops · 12/06/2021 19:15

I got mine today too. None from infection for me either!

woodfort · 12/06/2021 19:16

Mine is being sent out. I’m excited. If I’m not positive I will be so shocked.

PrettyCherryBlossom · 12/06/2021 20:23

Another one who posted the test back yesterday and got a negative result today.

shouldistop · 12/06/2021 20:52

Brilliant, thanks. Have registered

CovidCorvid · 12/06/2021 22:58

I’ve had a text, I’m getting a kit!

Rockbird · 13/06/2021 10:17

Had a text too, kit on its way! Thanks for the heads up.

shouldistop · 13/06/2021 12:37

Got my text, tried to order and it says the codes wrong.

MargaretThursday · 13/06/2021 12:46

Thank you! I have a kit on the way now.

I'm interested because ds and me had a mild temp, cough and slight change in taste at the start of March 2020, so whether we'd have any antibodies left after over a year is questionable, but interesting to find out.

@shouldistop check capital i and 1s. I had that issue- (several of each) i is just a straight line, 1s have the flick on top.

shouldistop · 13/06/2021 14:03

@MargaretThursday I copy and pasted it. Will try just typing it instead.

MargaretThursday · 13/06/2021 14:04

Copy and paste didn't work for me either.

riveted1 · 13/06/2021 14:13

Ah are these kits only testing for antibodies from previous infection rather than vaccination? I will most likely get a negative result in that case!

Phial · 13/06/2021 14:36

Thanks for posting. I registered, got my test and did it today. Have to wait til later to post as it said not to post at temps greater than 25 degrees. I am not expecting antibodies but still quite excited to be taking part.

sleepwouldbenice · 13/06/2021 23:15

Hi all

mine is on its way. I am due to give blood on Wednesday - I assume that I wont be able to get them to give me any for testing!!

I doubt I will be able to do it before then so I was wondering how long you would leave it before doing the test - I have no idea how if giving blood would impact my ability to complete the sample. Also I assume the testing kit doesnt have to be used straight away

AlmondFlat · 14/06/2021 10:40

the lancet for these is like the finger prick test when you give blood.

I was just thinking that the little thing they use to suck up the blood to put the drop into the copper sulfate solution would actually be really handy to have for this - much easier I think to suck it up drop by drop than to let it drip and try to catch the drops in the vial or let it run down the side.

Maybe you could ask them for a spare one!!

I don't think it would make much difference having given blood recently, as it's such a small amount, but make sure you drink lots so that you're well hydrated. And use a different finger or two!

BlackLambAndGreyFalcon · 14/06/2021 10:58

I've got mine, but I'm waiting for the temperature to drop as the instructions say don't post it on a day when the temperature is over 25 degrees - it's been over 25 degrees every day here for the past week or so!

Lottie4 · 14/06/2021 12:32

BlackLambAndGreyFalcon - same here. Our priority box is in full sun all day, which doesn't help. I think I'll have to wait until Thursday.

Littleone638 · 14/06/2021 13:21

For anyone who botched it up or let it get too warm like I did, I called 119 - there is a specific antibody testing option - and they said just go on and register again, which I did yesterday and got a text with the code this morning.

CovidCorvid · 14/06/2021 14:01

@shouldistop

Got my text, tried to order and it says the codes wrong.
I had this, what I thought was a number 1 was a capital I
Lindy2 · 14/06/2021 17:05

I got my invitation to test this morning.

I had Covid in January and vaccine doses in March and May.

I'm hoping I have a good lot of antibodies still as I was pretty ill. Does it give any more information other than yes or no for antibodies being found?
