Just a heads up in case anyone is interested, I just registered to receive a free home Covid antibody testing kit due to being a Zoe Covid app user.

@ICanSmellSummerComing

If you still have anti bodies is it worth have the second jab?
Yes, the second jab should give you longer term protection.
alamene · 09/06/2021 18:15

I registered yesterday and had a text through this morning with a code in.

likestoski · 09/06/2021 18:42

I did my antibody test a few weeks ago, I tested positive for COVID feb 14th this year and my first jab was in March.... no antibodies 🤷‍♀️

AzureTwist · 09/06/2021 19:18

Thanks. I am on Zoe and have just registered, so hope I get a text inviting me.

mommybunny · 09/06/2021 19:24

Sorry op if this should be clear: do you need to have had COVID first? I use Zoe to contribute to research but as far as I know I’ve never had COVID nor has anyone in my household.

Realitea · 09/06/2021 19:31

It makes me feel faint just thinking about doing that 😂 I couldn’t do it!

TokyoSushi · 09/06/2021 19:41

Just registered, I use the Zoe app, interested to see what happens!

MadeForThis · 09/06/2021 19:46

I received an invite from the Zoe app on Tuesday. Received the antibody test today.

It did state that they were asking me to do the test as I had previously logged a positive test.

However I ordered a test for my DH too, he uses the app and had no symptoms when I was positive. His test kit arrived today too.

The form asks if you have tested positive and vaccine details.

We have both had one vaccine.

GiantGoose · 09/06/2021 20:37

@mommybunny I’ve never tested positive and they sent me a test.
I didn’t get invited by Zoe though, I just used the link on my original post and ticked Zoe app user in the eligibility bit

Just registered for DH and myself.

Arcadia · 09/06/2021 22:18

Oh I did a test before and it was literally one or two drops of blood on a lateral flow test.
This sounds a bit hardcore!

MissCherryCakeyBun · 09/06/2021 22:18

Thanks so much both been using the Zoe app since it launched, I had C-19 back last April before there was any real testing, and did some plasma donation last summer. DH isn't sure if he had it too so will be interested to see.

MolyHolyGuacamole · 10/06/2021 11:53

I registered after reading this yesterday and to my text to book today!

SmallestInTheClass · 10/06/2021 11:55

How did you get the invite? I've been using the app for over a year but don't think I've got an invitation. Was it a text/notification/email?

GiantGoose · 10/06/2021 12:17

@SmallestInTheClass
I don’t get an invitation, I just used the gov UK link (see original post) and ticked Zoe app user when it got to that part

OP posts:
GiantGoose · 10/06/2021 12:17

didn’t get

MadeForThis · 10/06/2021 13:06

Invite was an email.

I did the same as @GiantGoose, it's one of the options
Needingsupportplease · 10/06/2021 13:52

Recieved mine today but scared to do it! My dh did one and it was just like a lateral flow one droplet needed this is a whole tube haha. I've also never had covid but was still invited

MissSmiley · 10/06/2021 14:50

I did this last week, I tested positive last October and I have no antibodies from infection
I've had both my jabs though

Arcadia · 10/06/2021 15:22

I've received the kit but seeing the size of the tube I cannot get this much blood out myself, no way. I think that's ridiculous. Will have to bin it I suppose.

HairyFloppins · 10/06/2021 15:26

Ordered the kit this morning but after watching the video I'm not sure I can get that amount of blood out of my finger without fainting. I wish there was an easier way.

Arcadia · 10/06/2021 15:33

I agree @HairyFloppins totally different to the antibody kit I received before which required one drop of blood!

wendz86 · 10/06/2021 15:43

I applied earlier this week and got a text saying could order today. Also a bit worried about the amount of blood needed!

whatswithtodaytoday · 10/06/2021 16:00

Presumably this wouldn't show antibodies if you had (suspected) Covid in March 2020, as they would have all gone by now?
