TheChineseChicken · 29/04/2021 20:17

Does anybody else think mumsnet need to delete posts saying they will claim they are pregnant to get Pfizer or advising others to do that?

Or a whole thread with repeated suggestions of this?

Don't get me started on suggest ining to book appointments and walking out if AZ

These people not only show no understanding of risk data but are potentially putting other people at risk.

I am all for choice but the choice here is have the vaccine or don't. Simple.

Mumsnet need to do something because this is a public forum and this stuff will give others stupid ideas. We don't need waste vaccine or roll out delays.

TruelyWonder · 30/04/2021 12:35

Sorry not positive etc

1990s · 30/04/2021 12:41

Shock that is pretty terrible behaviour

Bordois · 30/04/2021 15:59

Did anyone get the Zoe app email today basically saying cases are so low now that they are finding it more difficult to extrapolate numbers for the whole population.

Absolutely, thats outrageous behaviour 😡

Yes, I got that too. This article also suggests similar good news.

How can you fake being pregnant though? I assume you’ll need to go via your GP.. are people really suggesting they’ll fake a pregnancy to the GP & then I assume claim miscarriage to avoid further appointments? Frankly, that’s atrocious. And I hope they never experience one.

Hi. I’m pregnant , i took a test yesterday and it’s positive. And I’ve not managed to see a doctor yet as they won’t see me til week x. Can I have pfizer please ?
TruelyWonder · 30/04/2021 22:25

Apparently it doesn't break mumsnet talk rules. So they won't delete those posts either.

If we had several posters on different threads advising financial fraud they would have acted. Teaching ways to get vaccine you are not entitled to dishonestly not a problem. Despite the later potentially delaying someone that needs it there jab.

Money deleted.

Hospitalisation or death not deleted.

I hope the media pick up on it. I really do. It is disgusting.

Cusano34 · 30/04/2021 23:10

I quit mumsnet last September time as it was feeding my anxiety! 🙃

I’ve just popped back on (not to talk about the pandemic!) but had a notification about this thread and thought I’d have a quick look!

Glad to see you’re all still talking about the good news!

I work at my local hospital and we’ve vaccinated over 100,000! Has my second dose 3 weeks ago now and the only side effect I had was tiredness!

Hope everyone is keeping well 💕

OrangeBananaFish · 01/05/2021 08:18

Well we have made it through another month. May feels full of promise. Restrictions should ease further (I haven't heard any different from the government or media), more people will get vaccinated and hopefully cases, hospitalisations and deaths will continue to decrease.

My local BBC news last night said there were no deaths for my council (among a few others nearby) throughout April.

The sun is shining and I'm feeling positive, even though I did decide to book my holidays from work just in case we could go to France in late August and it was rejected (someone else has a holiday booked). At least the decision is made for us now.

PomLikeTheBattle · 01/05/2021 16:03

Back to being the weekend chauffeur - sat outside the swimming pool, have a day full of clubs and play dates tomorrow- I’m slightly missing the quieter pace 😳

DH has his vaccine booked for next week though.

Cases and deaths down again today. Even with the increased mixing they are still going down.

Bordois · 01/05/2021 17:40

More good news, but obviously there will be some that won't like it..

Brilliant news. How could anyone not like that.
PomLikeTheBattle · 01/05/2021 17:58

Very good news.

It’s such a relief transmission is continuing to reduce. I’m really pleased fjr the young especially who have given up a lot.

I love this thread. I mistakenly just took a look at the blood clot thread. My oh my, there are posters on there who I am sure are deliberately stirring the worriers up over a vanishingly rare side effect to AZ. Think I'll stay here with all the lovely positivity instead Smile

TruelyWonder · 01/05/2021 21:26

There were 41 deaths following the clots in Britain, the MHRA said, an increase of 9 from last week’s figures, although experts say historic cases might still be feeding through to the totals, and the clots are set to remain a rare event.

Please note the words historic cases. As in from cases involving older people.

Also a EMA expert said today that regarding the idea that cases were higher in younger women than the general population. They have looked at Germany for example and found that two thirds of the AZ was given to women. Therefore it wasn't surprising more cases of clots appeared on women. It was just proportionate to the gender of the amount of people vaccinated.

So between these two bits of information and our weekly yellow card updates 🤷‍♀️

I seriously wonder sometimes if they are paid to wind people up. If not they should be. Seem very skilled at it. Not my cup of tea at all. Why spread misery if you have no evidence. If there was a serious issue I would be the first to tell people. We don't need any more deaths happening this year unnecessarily.

Yep stick here or the general boards. The covid board is baffling most the time.

PomLikeTheBattle · 01/05/2021 21:44

Definitely some dubious things said, causes so much unnecessary anxiety. Such a shame.
