"Unfortunately, I dont think it will work I'm afraid.

Sorry"

TheChineseChicken · 05/05/2021 20:42

Sadly

Unfortunately without a sticker the vaccine can’t follow the science.

Great vaccine news on here today, DH has also had his 1st jab. His immune system is presumably more reactive than mine, he’s had to go to bed - bless.

Dementedswan · 05/05/2021 20:54

Dh had his second jab today at 1.30... Pfizer. It was our gp that did it. Dr was ee fully vaccinated and full of positivity 🤣 no side effects so far, not even a sore arm. Hoping that continues as its ds birthday tomorrow.

OrangeBananaFish · 05/05/2021 21:37

Lots of jabs on here today including my first one. So far no effects, but its only been a little over 4 hours. Was AZ, I would have liked something different then pretty much everyone else I knew, but really I couldn't care less what they stuck in my arm. Getting it done was the main thing.

Now it feels ages until my next one in July, but with life getting back to normal it will come round soon enough.

OrangeBananaFish · 05/05/2021 21:49

Sorry question (CBA to start a thread or look for one), but are we confident that we are going to open the next stage of the roadmap on 17th May? I know the dates were always not before so the government could push them back if the data says so, but as far as I can see we are heading on track. I'm just looking at gyms for the classes, but wondering if its worth it if they can't go ahead in a couple of weeks.

I'm pretty confident. The government keep saying the roadmap is still on track so unless something bad happens in the next week it's unlikely they'll push 17th May back.

AZ folks, how long have your side effects lasted?
I’m just over 48 hours now and feel terrible. Headache and then low level constant nausea like a hangover or morning sickness. I feel worse today than yesterday!
Asking here and not main board as I want opinions from you positive lot, for obvious reasons!

Torvean · 05/05/2021 23:30

You're lucky if ppl in 20s being done. My areas just in early 40s.

TruelyWonder · 05/05/2021 23:32

The first AZ jab my husband had a sore arm first day. Then a sore arm and mild headache the next day.

Second dose he had no symptoms. Not even a sore arm.

Some people say to drink loads of water before and after jab. I have no idea why but apparently that helps.

Personally I would just go for the paracetamol before and after like my GP tells everyone to do with the jabs.

TheChineseChicken · 06/05/2021 06:17

I had AZ last evening. No side effects whatsoever, not even a sore arm

TheChineseChicken · 06/05/2021 06:18

I took paracetamol as soon as I got home. I’m actually a bit disappointed as I was looking forward to a day off work in bed

springhasalmostsprung · 06/05/2021 06:53

My sister had AZ - she had 12 hours or so of chills, but her headache did last 10 days. Just a mild one, but it went on a long time

Dementedswan · 06/05/2021 07:34

@TeaInTheGarden I had AZ 8 weeks ago. Arm was very painful and had 48 hours of muscle aches etc similar to flu. Day 3 I woke up perfectly fine.

Autumn101 · 06/05/2021 08:10

So side affects for Moderna have so far been a slightly sore arm and I felt absolutely shattered last night. Went to bed early and had the best sleep I’ve had in years (I’m a chronic insomniac) and feel good today.

Hope anyone else with side effects starts to feel better soon 🤞

whataballbag · 06/05/2021 08:13

My AZ side effects were bad headache, flue like symptoms, shooting pains down both legs, high fever and no appetite.

All vanished within 36 hours after first dose.

Due the second on Tuesday and in 2 minds about whether to get it, not due to feeling a bit crappy but absolutely petrified of the blood clot risk.
