Scotland opened last Monday and I got a cut and colour on Thursday, was in there over an hour and a half. It's only a suggestion.

Hairdresser even sanitised and did a cut when my colour was being done.

Im a brunette. Its not an extreme reaction. Its the only regular treat i have. I dont go abroad. My hair is bloody thick and unmanageable. Feeling like a scruffy tramp. Being psychologically abused by the twats in power, struggling in a mask, being treated like a bio hazard/ATM machine................ive been comfort eating and gained weight Weight i had started to lose when i started going back to the salon regularly last September.
Hair is hair. When I had my super long hair cut off (not before time) my hairdresser said you will still look the same with shorter hair, your face won't change. And she was bang on. I

I hope that you're just having a rant and don't feel this angry about a possible inability to get highlights.

Framing it as anti-feminist to have guidance that says highlights not recommended strikes me as massively missing the point of feminism. This pandemic has had a negative impact on women, but not because of their hair...

What a load of shite, the government are having a laugh with this nonsense. Hairdressers make most money from colours and highlights, no salon owner in their right mind will be paying a blind bit of notice to this utter bollocks.
The problem with this is that whilst a client is sitting waiting for her colour to develop a hairdresser can be starting on another. Because of the limit to how many people can be in the salon, that won’t be possible. So don’t be surprised if your hair do shoots up in price.

I’m in Scotland so ours are slightly different however as a hairdresser I’d rather spend a couple of hours with one client doing a colour than a couple of hours seeing 4 different people for cuts.

I’ve learned to cut my own & my families hair during lockdown, to a pretty good standard too. Plenty of online tutorials out there. Saving a fortune so I’m definitely continuing with it. Means I don’t have to listen to all the anodyne crap that comes out of the hairdressers gob anymore either. Win win Smile

A whole lot of people won't have had their vaccines by the time salons open next Monday . Even if the high risk groups most people have only had one .

@MercyBooth get a flipping grip of yourself, for one the majority of hairdressers will selfishly ignore the guidance. And secondly do you really think your hair is worth someone’s life!
I have not been to the hairdressers since the end of 2019.
I am shielding have barely left my home. The vaccine offers some protection but it’s not a magic bullet.
How dare you call it psychological abuse when thousands have lost loved ones.
An 11 year old girl in my home town lost both her parents to Covid and you are whining about the colour of you hair. You should be ashamed of yourself,
