@Oblomov21

I too think this is ridiculous.

Some of the rules and guidance are really starting to piss me off now.

And camping. 1st May bank holiday. Email today re our caravan site. Saying we can use the toilet, wash up our dishes and use the washing machine. But no shower. What a wierd rule!!
But, you can use the shower if you go to a gym? Eh? What's the logic of that? Hmm

Dh is taking ds2 camping this week. They've been told that because shower blocks can't be opened then toilet blocks won't be either (because in some sites in the group these are combined). The site they're going to doesn't even have showers, but the toilet block is still closed?! Makes zero sense to me.
PinkSparklyPussyCat · 12/04/2021 07:32

I think I'll have a cut and make do with a box of Josh Wood's finest, until this is over.

I tried that, it didn’t cover all my grey and faded really quickly. It was also very expensive!

StrawberryLipstickStateOfMind · 12/04/2021 07:55

@Carycy spot on.

FFS @ not being able to have a shower at a campsite, see it's bullshit like this that is actually more inclined to just piss everyone off and if they actually want people to follow all of the rules it might help to make them sensible in the first place and not wear people down to the point of thinking 'fuck this- if the rules are going to be so ridiculous then I'm not going to bother with any of it any more'.

I'd love to know how many cases of coronavirus they anticipate will be transmitted because of people having highlights or using showers at a campsite Hmm

FlattestWhite · 12/04/2021 08:53

Presumably all the people in the public eye have been allowed some degree of hairdressing as part of their work all along? No grey roots for Sophie or wild hair for Harry, even before today's lifting of restrictions, and similar for some presenters or politicians (though, famously, not others like Boris, though I'm sure he could have if he wanted).

Haven't heard anything from my salon that says they aren't doing highlights or colour, nor anything about patch tests, so hopefully they've decided 4 months is still OK.

keffie12 · 12/04/2021 09:55

@MercyBooth

You mean end of April? Or May?
Oops yes! Thanks for pointing that out. End of April for the reflexology
Maximum71 · 12/04/2021 11:05

@MercyBooth

I might just fucking shave it all off and have done. Perhaps i will send it to them in a fucking jiffy bag.
Hahahahahaha
MercyBooth · 12/04/2021 16:29

@FlattestWhite that has really pissed me off. Schofield and his non growing hair. To name just one.

@Carycy

I hate people that use their own bad stuff kick someone when they are down. Reality check everyone goes through bad things at different times in their life. You don’t get to use it to beat someone with and make them feel bad for struggling. I’ve had some pretty awful stuff happen to me this year but it’s got nothing to do with people being annoyed about hairdressers guidelines. I don’t use it against people.
Exactly! I’ve had two young relatives die and I would never tarnish their memory by using them to one up someone. For some people this is the last straw and no one should judge
Akiddleydiveytoo · 12/04/2021 18:38

Imagine being more concerned about how your hair looks than you are about 150,000 deaths Hmm

Cam2020 · 12/04/2021 19:11

I'm shocked by some of the responses here. I don't think it's an overreaction at all actually. I think it's over a year of restrictions and it's just come to the surface of enough is enough for OP.

Fair enough if there was any truth in it, but nobody is stopping hairdressers from doing highlights so it's a load of hot air and people threatening to shave their hair off for no reason.

LaLaLandIsNoFun · 12/04/2021 19:13

I’d hardly call guidelines on keeping hair appointments short ‘abuse’. Good grief.

Imagine moaning at someone who hasnt been abroad since 1986 who just wants her hair cut and coloured. Rather than moaning at those who continued to go on ski trips in Feb last year despite the warnings from abroad? Is it a guilty conscience? Were you one of them?
Are you prepared for your taxes to go up to pay my hairdressers benefits and for her housing if she loses her business?

The thing is we all have our last straw moments. Mine was homeschooling.
Getting het up about some wooly guidelines which most won't follow makes no sense at all.

And once more for the seats at the back..................HOW MANY TIMES HAVE POLICE AND OTHER OFFICIALS CONFUSED GUIDANCE WITH LAW.

LaLaLandIsNoFun · 12/04/2021 19:24

I did read it - and you calling it ‘abuse’ is hyperbolic.

I think you need a bit of a sit down.

ilovesooty · 12/04/2021 19:24

I really don't see why you keep bringing up that you haven't been abroad since 1986. It doesn't follow that everyone who thinks this might be an overreaction to guidelines, not law, is a habitual globetrotter. In any case, if their last trips abroad were well before the pandemic it's utterly irrelevant anyway.

AliceBlueGown · 12/04/2021 19:31

I think a number of posters on this thread need 'a bit of a sit down' Hope MercyBooth feels a bit better after her rant and is sporting impressive highlights.

MercyBooth · 12/04/2021 19:33

@ilovesooty Vaccine take up in poorer communities is lower. People who dont do certain things because they are priced out of their reach, like going abroad , to theatres ,gigs, festivals, cinemas are not going to be able to be blackmailed about things like vaccine passports from a Government who have already put those things out of many peoples reach due to their own austerity measures. What they gonna do? Say have a vaccine passport if you want to do things you dont do anyway? THATS why i bring it up. Because i dont think looking at it from this angle has occurred to many.
