So many talking about how this is the great reset, how this doesn't stop until we say it does and how we are never coming out of lockdown etc.
Think they are going to feel a bit stupid over the coming weeks!

Not on Twitter / Facebook etc so can’t comment on what people are saying on there.

However, the idea of having an app on your phone you have to present to show you have been vaccinated against Covid makes me feel uncomfortable. What it you don’t have / don’t want to have a smart phone? If you have to tap your ‘status’ in and out of places, this will make you ‘trackable’ because you will be leaving a trail of where you’ve been. Whoever analyses the data will also be able to see the places you frequent and will be able to build a profile based on this. I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but this seems only logical.

If you don’t have the app, you will only ever be able to access basic services, so it will create a two-tear society.

CherryRipe1 · 05/04/2021 17:02

@VettiyaIruken

I bloody hope I do know more than the conspiracy nutjobs actually, yes.

Lizard people conspiracy to usher in a new world order with Bill gates putting microchips in us all to turn us into zombies so Big Pharma can take all the world's wealth and put it in their spaceships ready to take it to their home planet.
Ok, I may be taking the piss a bit there but it's a virus. Viruses happen. All this wake up sheeple crap is laughable.

Grin Your post made me chuckle. I thought the Illuminati were controlling us via amalgam teeth fillings. But seriously, there are always profiteers in times of war, adversity, famine, pandemics.

I don't think you are being nasty, you're just making observations. I'm genuinely interested to know when you think things will be 2019 normal.
pinkearedcow · 05/04/2021 18:03

I don't think OP is being nasty.

All the posters who were going on about "never getting our freedoms back" "totalitarian state" etc. seem to have slunk off and name-changed over the course of the past couple of weeks ot so. I think they are all now putting their energies into flooding MN with anti-vax rhetoric instead.

pinkearedcow · 05/04/2021 18:04

Well, not all.

pinkearedcow · 05/04/2021 18:11

It's true that things will probably never go back to exactly how they were in 2019, but that's normal not necessarily sinister. Societies often change hugely following a catastrophe like a war or a pandemic or a financial crisis etc. – the world evolves.

toocold54 · 05/04/2021 18:12

I'm genuinely interested to know when you think things will be 2019 normal.

I don’t think anyone can answer that as we have no idea what is going to happen next year, there could an outbreak of another disease or WW3.

Things are already opening up and I assume when everyone is vaccinated then more things will re-open.
But there are several things that I would be happy to not go back to normal like washing your hands more often, limited numbers of people in places at the same time, signing in and waiting in your car for your gp appointment instead of being in a room full of sick people for an hour, wearing masks in hospitals etc.

Heyupeasterbunny · 05/04/2021 18:20

@tormentil Why would they want rid of the middle classes?
Do the government know all this and are going along with it? How could they?

sleepwouldbenice · 05/04/2021 18:26

Conspiracy theorists are having a field day

We are all to be controlled forever by a vaccine and lateral flow tests 🙄

As can be clearly seen by plandemic believers on this thread

AcornAutumn · 05/04/2021 18:33

pink and too

The OP seems to think things will go back to normal, hence why I asked her.

Heyupeasterbunny · 05/04/2021 18:33

I’m so surprised so many haven’t heard of/queried the great reset plans. As a previous poster says, I think it’s dangerous to dismiss anyone questioning things as a ‘Conspiracy nut’ and tying it to obviously ridiculous musings about lizard people etc.

AcornAutumn · 05/04/2021 18:35

Too "But there are several things that I would be happy to not go back to normal like washing your hands more often"

The way the soap sold at the start, I honestly wondered how many people were washing their hands before this. I know I'm considered an excessive hand washer but even so...!

Yes I get that. I think things will slowly start to get back to normal ovet the next few months. That's not the same as saying everything will be the same as pre-pandemic, it won't. I don't mean in a sinister way though, I mean things like shopping habits have probably changed for good for example and working from home will become more widespread.

Me too!!
I remember all the shops had sold out of soap and wondered how many people had just started buying it.

Wow I forgot how crazy everything was back then it feels like another lifetime now when people were panic buying and waiting for the news to tell us whether we’re going into school/work and everything started closing down.

AcornAutumn · 05/04/2021 18:42

Pink "That's not the same as saying everything will be the same as pre-pandemic, it won't."

Well then, some people are right, things won't go back to normal. Semantics maybe, but I am wondering who OP thinks she can laugh at when things go back to "normal".

pinkearedcow · 05/04/2021 18:43

It really was surreal. I remember hovering over my DH whenever he ventured into the kitchen, telling him not to eat this that and the other in case we ran out! That paranoia didn't last, thankfully.

pinkearedcow · 05/04/2021 18:45

AcornAutumn I think OP is talking about certain posters who kept on and on that the restrictions were here for good, and that what is due to happen in England on Monday wouldn't.

Hopefully OP will clarify, I am curious.
OhShitShit · 05/04/2021 18:50

@toocold54

Internationally- yes no different to a yellow fever certificate. Fine with that.

Domestically- no. No fine at all.

[quote Heyupeasterbunny]@tormentil Why would they want rid of the middle classes?

They/we won't be needed anymore...
AI and robots, remember?

Our government is taking much (most?) of its' direction from the UN and The World Health Organisation, as are many of the other western nations - the US and Australia being the most obvious.
The United Nations and the World Health Organisation have morphed into invisible leaders. It is a massive infiltration of our governments.
Governments which are supposed to serve us, the people.

We really do need to pull together to fight this.

Temp023 · 06/04/2021 07:24

So, what is an alternative to vaccine passports then?

They make sense to me.. and if enough people have them, then people who have a genuine reason not to be vaccinated can be confident that there will be herd immunity.

knittingaddict · 06/04/2021 07:30

@daisiesinmay

So many talking about how this is the great reset, how this doesn't stop until we say it does and how we are never coming out of lockdown etc

Who's saying this? Have literally never heard any of those things said

I'm very surprised that you've missed this. It's not a majority of people, but it's a sizeable number and all over the internet, including mn.
toocold54 · 06/04/2021 07:52

@tormentil

Sorry it’s hard to get tone over messages. Do you seriously believe the government are trying to cull the middle class to replace them with robots or are you being sarcastic?

Why do we need vaccine passports to achieve herd immunity?
