My feed is full of education (🤦‍♀️), book stuff, food and travel...because that's the kind of stuff I follow 🤷‍♀️ It's not rocket science really...it's just how Twitter works.

I just wanted lockdown lifted internally. I would forsake foreign holidays for normal life within the UK - which we are in touching distance of now.

I don’t understand the holiday obsession either (overseas families, obviously very different situation).
Surely in a (hopefully for most of us) once in a lifetime event, we can cope without for a couple of years, until Covid is pretty much under control worldwide and reduced to just another seasonal virus that we’re annually jabbed against?
We’re animals, we need to adapt to what nature throws at us, as do other species. no amount of “it’s not fair” changes that.

@DenisetheMenace agree holidays are unnecessary and we can wait a year, 2 or 3 even. But closing the border to outward travel a year after the emergency, but still allowing tourists in the other way, is a little odd no?

The conspiracy theorists version (my brother sadly is one of them 🤦‍♀️) of a great reset is not like the video that someone posted upthread from the WEF. His version simply uses tiny aspects of the original WEF work (and other things, like many conspiracy theories!) to 'prove' that a New World Order is coming. It's ridiculous, of course...and my family has had to deal with his QAnon/Global Elite/Great Reset bullshit for a long time. He is utterly convinced that it is true...a 52 year old man with a family.

Apologies if you thought I was 'rubbishing' the work of the WEF. I wasn't at all.

No worries. where there is a grain of truth in these matters, quite often it has to be dug for under layers of more dubious rhetoric. And it is hard and frustrating when people close to you get really enmeshed, so I do feel for you.

That said, there are aspects of the WEF that give me cause for concern.

We certainly have had our human rights removed and Parliament just voted for another 6 months of legislative powers.

People are behaving about the removal of rights like they did about Brexit. We want brexit, but also we want to live in our Spanish expat community . We want a vaccine passport but also we want our human rights. People in Britain don't know what the fuck they are voting for half the time, I've concluded.

But will there be any cafes/restaurants to social distance in if this is long term? I think its widely accepted that they can't make a profit operating at reduced levels. Maybe in the short term until things get back to normal but not indefinitely

I'd happily pay higher prices to have people respect personal space!

You'll notice I deleted my post - afraid of them seeing it, am sure they are a MNer.

I am a bit surprised that I have not seen anyone else mention similar financial decisions (being deliberately vague - so afraid of outting) as it seems to be a big part of the Great Reset (ie hyperinflation/currency losing value/digital dollar talk)

I have seen references on twitter/sm to this all being a massive financial crash being hidden behind a disease and that only decentralised currencies are safe. And that the contracts scandal/billions being burned without a care in the world are because 'they' know it.

Personally I don't think this is at all true, although the QE/spend spend spend is quite hard to explain tbh. And the stock market is probably seeing a bubble.

All those saying we would be locked down for far longer than 2 weeks to take the pressure off the NHS were dubbed conspiracists, they were right though.
