Blood type and side effects of vaccine?

Just a quick straw poll as we've been having this discussion at home and wondered if there might be something in it.

What blood type are you?
Did you get a lot of side effects from the vaccine?
Which vaccine did you have?

No idea, blood type but had AZ , was a bit nauseous and mild headache and a bit tired for afternoon/night of vaccine. Fine since.
DH had AZ was a bit shivery.
DD had AZ and she was ill, shivers, headache, hot and cold and nauseous. So the under 20 years old was the worst. No idea of her blood group but she is related to both of us.

A neg here. Had AZ on Wednesday and no reaction first 24 hours other than sore arm but than really tired and headachy yesterday evening and today.

I had Covid at Christmas and have heard you suffer more if you've had it. Also not many symptoms when I had it beyond extreme tiredness and loss of appetite.

A- have had both doses of Pfizer, felt abit tired after the first that evening and ever so slightly sore arm but that was it. No tiredness second jab and even less of a sore arm.

I haven't had my jab yet so I'm just following to find out the answer. I'm blood type A+ (I know this through giving blood and being pregnant).

Dp had the Pfizer and had mild side effects from the second dose but unfortunately doesn't know his blood type so that's no help to you either.

AB- Felt sick for test of day and had felt cold/shivery for an hour. Felt tired and had a slight headache for a week. AZ

DH. O+ Had flu like symptons the following day.

Pfizer dose 1
Felt tired and sore that night but felt fine the next day.
Very tender arm for a week.

Dose 2 TBC Sad

Pfizer

AB-

1st dose - felt a but tired. Otherwise fine

2nd dose fine 1st 24 hours then tired, restless, hot, tight feeling neck, swollen armpit and diarrhoea day 2. Felt awful. Now a week later I still feel wiped out.

Blood type is an expression of genotype, so not surprising it may have immunological impacts.

Me: O -ve. No side effects
DW: O +ve. Mild side effects (slight itching).

Had AZ vaccine.
10 days of headaches, 2 days of aching and feeling rough, one very scary episode with my eye where it seemed to go into spasm, still have painful eyes now 2 weeks later. I can't be sure the eye issue was related to the vaccine but whatever happened was extremely scary.

I think I am AB. I felt exactly like I did when I had Covid, tired and incredibly emotional. I cried for an entire day at work. Sore arm for a week. I am dreading the second one now.

Me:O pos AZ no s/e ( only had 1st)
DH O pos Phizer no s/e with 1st, fluey for 24 hours with 2nd.

AB+ AZ Ist dose - sore arm and lower shoulder blade for a few days, very tired for a week.

AZ , O+ , pins and needles, palpitations, crushing headache for four days (felt like my head was being crushed in a vice and felt like I couldn't see straight).

A + PFEIZER first dose tiredness and headache for 24 hrs
Second dose.. Fine but almost exactly 24 hrs after.. Nausea.. Fever..headach and hugely inflamed lymph node. All lasted 3 days.
I am 45 and have not to my knledge had covid

Sudden fatigue and about an hour of chills about 8 hours after vaccine, then just fatigue for a couple of days and slightly sore arm for a week.

I was pleasantly surprised as I usually over-react to everything medicinal.

AB+ 1st dose of AZ felt a little tired and headachy the next day (fine on the day of the jab)

AB+ Az vaccine. I am 46 and felt fine after first dose. Period is late but think am peri menopausal anyway Smile

A neg. No side effects whatsoever with either dose.
I had Pfizer though which I suspect has had fewer of the mild flu like side effects

A+ and had the AZ. Very tired and achy fir a couple of days. Needed regular paracetamol and early nights fir a couple of days. Next couple of days was just really tired from late afternoon.

A- had the Pfizer I was fine other than a sore arm.

DH A+ had Astrazeneca & felt fine other than sore arm.

I've also had covid & only lost my sense of smell and taste.
