Blood type and side effects of vaccine?

Just a quick straw poll as we've been having this discussion at home and wondered if there might be something in it.

What blood type are you?
Did you get a lot of side effects from the vaccine?
Which vaccine did you have?

B-, had AZ and felt pretty rough the next day with flu-like symptoms but fine after that.

Lolly49 · 02/04/2021 09:04

@spanktastic

O+ AZ vaccine, very sore arm and felt hungover the following day
Exactly the same I am 55 if that makes a difference.
RingtheBells · 02/04/2021 09:58

A+, flu like symptoms (headache, dry mouth, nausea, temperature,) started about 12 hrs after vaccine lasted for about 24 hours, slightly sore arm.

RhapsodyandAshe · 02/04/2021 10:16

A- Pfizer first one, ulcer on tongue went away quickly, sore arm but otherwise OK, except for developing shingles 2weeks and 6 days later.
2nd one, ulcer again, absolute waves of agony on the side of the body I had the vaccine for around thirty hours plus a really sore neck on the other side from where the vaccine was given.
Feeling back to normal except from a bit of soreness in my ribs three days later.

Mollymalone123 · 02/04/2021 10:19

B- had the AZ- slight runny nose a few hours afterwards then nothing at all
DH 0+ really bad headache for 24 hours and chills then fine

Purplewithred · 02/04/2021 10:19

A+ve

AstraZeneca

First jab - one grotty day including a high temp and aches and pains for half the day (tested +ve 3 days later BUT was asymptomatic before and after the jab - only had symptoms on the day after the jab)
Second jab - one odd day, slightly off, but nothing terrible

yeOldeTrout · 02/04/2021 10:42

I'm itching to put these responses in an excel graph.

me: AB+, AZ jab, slightly sore arm gone after 3-4 days

AB+

AZ vaccine - sore arm, slight headache and mild fatigue/body aches for 24 hours or so, but nothing significant.

Poppiesway1 · 02/04/2021 10:50

AB+ Pfizer
1st vacc. Headache, sore throat felt hung over for a few days. Sore red arm for a week.

2nd vacc. Headache, sore throat, felt hungover again. Very sore arm, couldn’t lay on side for a week, it’s still red & itchy 10days later. Armpit very swollen and hurt to move it, even changing gears in car was painful. PHE have made breast care units in nhs aware of this side affect though as we’re getting woman being referred with lumps in arm pits after vaccination.

I’m told people who have had covid are having worse reactions to second to 2nd vacc

ShrekandDonkey · 02/04/2021 10:53

O- Pfizer. Had a sore arm for 24 hours but only after the second dose. That's it.

AllTheWayFromLondonDAMN · 02/04/2021 10:53

Me: O- major flu like symptoms for almost exactly 36hrs which went away as suddenly as they arrived. No sore arm, AZ

DH: O+ mild flu like symptoms for 12ish hrs. Very sore arm, AZ

x2boys · 02/04/2021 10:53

B negative
Tired the day after
Pfizer

LostToucan · 02/04/2021 11:20

O negative, AZ vaccine.

Sore arm (felt like I’d been punched) for 3 days. Very tired on second day after jab, but I had walked 8 miles and done a couple of hours gardening.

doireallyneedaname · 02/04/2021 11:59

A+
Pfizer
Mild hangover feeling for 48 hours

SunnySideAndMarmite · 02/04/2021 16:52

AB+
AZ vaccine
Mid 30s
Illest I've felt in years. Fluey symptoms, muscle and joint aches so bad I couldn't sleep. Exhausted for days. Severe depression for almost 2 weeks until my period started (2 days early).

MrsWP · 02/04/2021 16:58

A+ Pfizer - yesterday so maybe too early to be too much help. But feeling OK today. Just a sore arm.

Spodge · 02/04/2021 18:38

A positive
AZ vaccine
Sore arm for about a week (but not preventing me from doing anything)
Severe fatigue kicked in about 10 hours after jab, lasted for about 12 hours and vanished as quickly as it arrived.

mumulands · 02/04/2021 18:44

Oneg. No side affects with either of the two AZ doses

RampantIvy · 02/04/2021 18:46

DH
Blood Group: A+
Side effects: None
Vaccine Type: Astra Zeneca

Me
Blood Group: O-
Side effects: very, very slight headache
Vaccine Type: Astra Zeneca

Neither of us has had covid.
I think you need to ask for ages as well. DH is 69, and I am 62.

QuidditchQueen · 02/04/2021 18:49

Interesting question!
Ate you collating responses in a spreadsheet OP?
I had the Pfizer and am A+ - no side effects at all other than a slightly sore arm.
Probably had Covid followed by pleurisy in March 2020.

flumposie · 02/04/2021 18:50

O negative. Pfizer first jab. Sore arm and tingly fingers for one day on the side I had the vaccine

Gerla · 02/04/2021 18:53
