26.8 million people vaccinated thread started 20th March

So with the release of figures as of Friday 19th March over half the adult population of the UK have had at least 1 vaccination.

The number of jabs given is March was phenomenal and its likely numbers will be lower for the next few weeks but even if its "only" 100-200k a day thats still more lives potentially being saved!

Sorry knocked this thread up quickly as we were so close to the end of the old one. Will ask for the title to be changed to something more witty if required 😉

Wow!! So we’ve done 10 million in a month Smile

AlecTrevelyan006 · 20/03/2021 14:22

yesterday just over 1% of the population were vaccinated. In a single day! That is quite incredible.

Bordois · 20/03/2021 14:23

Any reason or theories as to why Scotland seem to be falling behind?

Im coming here for my sticker !

Great news. Every one who is vaccinated helps protect those who are not vaccinated and those for whom it doesn't work.

Parkandride · 20/03/2021 15:12

Favourite thread! What an amazing number, will try to focus on the incredible progress rather than any upcoming dips as we will get there

Paddy1234 · 20/03/2021 15:35

Place marking and thank you for the thread ❤️ Great numbers today

DdraigGoch · 20/03/2021 16:06

711,156 in total.

BOOM!

WombatChocolate · 20/03/2021 16:10

It is a great number. Will be well over 27m tomorrow and hopefully 27.5m on Monday, which is reporting Sunday’s figures.

I kept looking for 2.5m per week. They didn’t manage it the last couple of weeks, but this week brings us back on track with that. Good to get a bit ahead too if the supply won’t be so good from April.

Very encouraging.

Also good to see the 100 box grid showing 51 boxes shared...more people have had first dose than not now. That’s very good news.

Thanks for the new thread and especially to all those involved in jabbing us.

MrsEWeatherwax · 20/03/2021 17:16

In my county they have done 50%of over 16yrs. First dose Vaccine.Which think is fantastic.

buttery81 · 20/03/2021 17:21

I’m still struggling to comprehend that if you pass another adult in the street, they’re now more likely to be vaccinated than not. It’s just so fantastic! Grin

Hork · 20/03/2021 17:28

I had mine yesterday along with a couple of friends and we all feel rough today.

Mumoftwoinprimary · 20/03/2021 19:45

In the last week 3.1 million people have had a first vaccination and 0.6 million have had a second vaccination.

Mumoftwoinprimary · 20/03/2021 19:47

This compares to 37k who have tested positive.

That means that for every positive test we have done 100 jabs.
