26.8 million people vaccinated thread started 20th March

So with the release of figures as of Friday 19th March over half the adult population of the UK have had at least 1 vaccination.

The number of jabs given is March was phenomenal and its likely numbers will be lower for the next few weeks but even if its "only" 100-200k a day thats still more lives potentially being saved!

Tremendous numbers today!!!!

And over 4m for the week! That's 6% of the UK population (and rather more of the adult population). In a week!

Have we really done 4m in a week?! That is just staggering.

Last sunday's: 24 453 221

Difference (total first doses in the week): 3 177 749

Today's dose two cumulative total: 2 228 772
Last sunday's: 1 610 280

Difference (total second doses): 618 492

Total doses done in the week: 3 796 241

So I dunno. But it's still an awful lot.

(Also I've been trying to stay relatively detached from the whole EU vaccine dispute. But if they embargo our stickers there will be hell to pay!)

I was one of the 800k, and I’m the proud owner of a sticker.

Perhaps they ran out of stickers. 800k is an awful lot.

Do people getting 2nd jab get bigger, more impressive sticker...perhaps gold colour??

When it is my turn I shall be very put out if no sticker. My husband got a sticker he will be gloating.

I really don't think the government have taken the sticker situation seriously enough.

I have three more family members alone without other people we know getting done this week. I would put money on us getting over 30 million first jabs. Possibly the full 31.8 million at a push.

DH had his vaccine this morning. He was actually booked in for next week but then heard of a drop-in clinic happening today, so cancelled the appointment and got it done earlier. He said it was really well organised. Kudos to all of the people who have been helping with the vaccine rollout!

You are using slightly wrong numbers.

Today’s one dose announced (but this is actually what was achieved yesterday so is called 20/3/21):- 27,630,970

Last week’s (so this is what was announced last Sunday but happened last Saturday so 13/3/21:- 24,196,211

Difference of 3,434,759

For second doses - same thing.

Today’s (called 20/3) 2,228,772
Last week’s:- 1,584,909

Difference:- 643,863.

GRAND TOTAL:- 4,078,622!!!!
