We are sending medical equipment to help in India. I was hoping they would get a wiggle on and do it. Looks so worrying there. Would have been good to do it before now. However I suppose these things take a bit of time to organise.

The EU are going to help too.

@fadingfast

I was wondering the other day what had happened about the medical detection dogs that were being trained to detect Covid. Has anyone seen or heard anything about them recently? Or anything in any other countries?
Not seen anything about that recently

The situation in India is so upsetting, very hard to watch even on the news, I can’t imagine how horrific it must be.

@Autumn101

So much to catch up on! I haven’t been on much the last few weeks as I got in a bit of a funk about DH getting back for a visit after where he is going on the red list and stopping flights. But after a mission of a journey I am very excited as he’s currently in a quarantine hotel near Heathrow and will be with us in a week until the end of May! It’s been a long slog since Christmas on my own with the DC and cannot wait to see him

Also hoping I get my vaccine imminently, do we think 40-44s will be able to book this week????

44s and some 43s can book now. I'm in that age range and have now had nine, booked thurs or fri
tobee · 25/04/2021 21:01

Hooray re your Dh @Autumn101

BunsyGirl · 25/04/2021 21:23

The lowest number of cases since 3 September today. Smile

TruelyWonder · 25/04/2021 21:24

Fantastic 🥳

carolinesbaby · 25/04/2021 22:24

My parents have been jabbed now. Can't see much beyond that very positive news at the moment.

TruelyWonder · 25/04/2021 22:31

🥳🥳

Must be a big relief ❤

TeaInTheGarden · 26/04/2021 00:01

Covid-19: Vaccine rollout in England extends to 44-year-olds

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-56880376

As normal the news is a bit behind mumsnet but some other bits of information there.

TruelyWonder · 26/04/2021 00:24

It is obviously going to be sometime in May for the 30s. Just a matter of whether middle or end I think. There was some supply information in one of my links but I can't remember what it said past the 40s.

OrangeBananaFish · 26/04/2021 07:04

For the first time I was in a queue this morning to get onto the booking site. Will try later. Still not expecting to be able to book, but it doesn't hurt.

Autumn101 · 26/04/2021 07:10

I’ve tried the National Booking page today and I’m still not eligible at 40. I think later this week/early next week then 30s mid May onwards

EasterIssland · 26/04/2021 07:32

Website now says 44 by 1/07/2021

lazymum99 · 26/04/2021 08:18

I’ve been called for my second jab at a 10 week gap.yay! Also I have a niece in mid thirties who has been called. We are in London. Uptake is low so maybe they move down the age groups quicker.

BigWoollyJumpers · 26/04/2021 10:09

DH on phone to a friend aged 44, and he just got a text from his GP to book :-)

I can book!!!! Well kind of. I had a choice of 2 dates this week, but I'm at work then. It won't let me choose next 5 dates, but the Internet is not great here so I will have to try again when I get home. Longest afternoon ever now haha.

TruelyWonder · 26/04/2021 13:50

It is just a good feeling knowing you can book it though isn't it❤

BessMarvin · 26/04/2021 15:44

I just booked (42) but I wasn't actually expecting it so feel completely panicked and like I haven't thought it through! (The timing that is.)

TruelyWonder · 26/04/2021 16:05

42 that is good Grin

You will be fine. It will be fine. You will be so relieved once it is done.

Other than a sore arm that is what all my family has said. They feel relieved.

BessMarvin · 26/04/2021 16:11

Thank you, hoping no bad side effects 🤞

OrangeBananaFish · 26/04/2021 16:33

Im 42 too, it seems limited the appointments. I can't book anywhere near me now. Will keep trying though

BessMarvin · 26/04/2021 16:40

Fingers crossed for you. I had lots of dates available nearby, so it's probably quite varied.

TruelyWonder · 26/04/2021 17:41

Cases have fallen 30% in a week. Very good considering we opened up more Smile
