Welsh pubs and restaurants could open indoors from 17 May, as plans to ease restrictions are brought forward

Indoor group activities and swimming lessons will also be allowed from 3 May in Wales - two weeks earlier than planned

@BigWoollyJumpers just reading about the malaria vaccine - fascinating and brilliant.

Lovely sunny day, so much optimism in the air.

herecomesthsun · 23/04/2021 12:42

NASA have managed to make oxygen on Mars apparently.

Bordois · 23/04/2021 13:08

@Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum

That is just scary Grin
Is it wrong that I find PV quite fanciable in that picture though, bearing in mind the competition 🤔
Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 23/04/2021 16:11

You may have issues Grin

They look like an aged boy band. Sad thing is I can't see any of them looking that cool when they were younger. Though the idea that Whitty was makes me smile on the inside 😊

carolinesbaby · 23/04/2021 16:19

I've been lurking for a while, but I have some really, really good news - my parents have booked their jabs!!!!!! Moderns, apparently. Could not be happier.

Patrick looks like my bil.

Good news! My 21 year old ds has got his vaccine invite from our gp surgery after badgering them all week informing them that his in the household of a cev person, and therefore eligible as per new government guidelines.

Bad news: he followed the link which send he'd been recommended to have Pfizer and there are no available appointments right now! ConfusedSad

tobee · 23/04/2021 20:47

Sorry for typos

MissConductUS · 23/04/2021 20:51

DD's uni announced two weeks ago that they absolutely would not be offering vaccines for students and everyone had to get it on their own. Yesterday they announced that they're offering the Pfizer vaccine to any student who wants it starting tomorrow.

Of course, DD has already gotten her first Pfizer jab at a local pharmacy, so now she has to decide if she'll go back there or get the second dose at the uni.

It's good news because universities here are now getting vaccines for students. Smile

Oh that is annoying but congratulations on getting the jab sorted. I suppose he will have to just check every day and perhaps a Pfizer or Moderna delivery will appear 🤷‍♀️

Thanks to this thread, at 44 I had my 1st vaccine yesterday afternoon!!! The centre I went to was giving Moderna for 1st jabs and AZ for 2nd. So far (just over 12 hours in) I have had very mild side effects (tired and a bit achy). I am absolutely delighted!

DH obsessively checking at 44!

TruelyWonder · 24/04/2021 16:06

Sounds like reasonable behaviour Grin

Gonna need a bigger boat soon

(We will need to start a new thread shortly)

Sorry probably me talking too much 😂

PomLikeTheBattle · 24/04/2021 17:11

DC had 2 clubs today, booked dinner out for next week, I’ve even been to John Lewis 😊I’d really like a summer holiday but I know that’s not popular on mn !
Everyone seems so much brighter.

herecomesthsun · 24/04/2021 20:26

yy daughter spent the afternoon doing clubs, it's lovely.

So much to catch up on! I haven’t been on much the last few weeks as I got in a bit of a funk about DH getting back for a visit after where he is going on the red list and stopping flights. But after a mission of a journey I am very excited as he’s currently in a quarantine hotel near Heathrow and will be with us in a week until the end of May! It’s been a long slog since Christmas on my own with the DC and cannot wait to see him

Also hoping I get my vaccine imminently, do we think 40-44s will be able to book this week????

fadingfast · 25/04/2021 17:57

I was wondering the other day what had happened about the medical detection dogs that were being trained to detect Covid. Has anyone seen or heard anything about them recently? Or anything in any other countries?
