which of the following best describes your experience?

  1. You had no side effects.
  2. You had side effects, but are no longer experiencing any side effects.
  3. You are still experiencing side effects.

I know there have been lots of threads about side effects, but am hoping to create one where it's quick to pick out whether people are talking about very short-term side effects or something that lasted longer. If you're a 3, would be interesting to know which vaccine, your age, and whether you have a pre-existing medical condition which you think might have affected your body's response to the vaccine.

2 - I had AZ. Felt rough for about 12 hours, 12 hours after vaccination. Slept it off and was fine in the morning.

2/3

Had a moderate allergic reaction to first one (graded by the doctors when I went for the second). Facial/ eye swelling for a couple of weeks with eyelid swelling continuing on and off for around 2 months. Rashes and itching starting at 2 weeks continuing until around 6 weeks.

Just had my second earlier this week and the face swelling is not really noticeable this time but I feel like shit with feverish feelings (not an actual measurable fever). Itching started last night no rashes yet.

30 Female - think I have mild cutaneous mastocytosis as when researching rashes last time realised I have a few body spots where I can instigate rashes through Dariers test. So it may not be an allergy more part of my immune system literally lives on my skin.

I had the AZ 3 weeks ago. No side effects at all, not even a sore arm

PinkDaffodil2 · 10/03/2021 15:44
  1. Pfizer, sore arm at injection site but no more than any travel vaccines (should I have put 2?)
Londonmummy66 · 10/03/2021 16:00

  1. Had Astra Zeneca and felt very ill for 3 days. I had covid in December so was expecting the side effects and tbh I probably felt worse after the jab than I did when I had actually tested positive. My side effects were like a bad case of flu, very weak, headachey and uncontrollable chills and fever
empties · 10/03/2021 16:04

1 AZ - didnt even have a sore arm

fourquenelles · 10/03/2021 16:08

1/2 I had AZ and a feeling of cotton wool in my head just above my nose for a day. No pain or irritation at the jab site.

I then developed cold symptoms (runny nose and sneezing) so took a test and it came back negative. I somehow managed to catch a cold despite not being within 2m of any bugger for about 6 months!

WendyTestaburger · 10/03/2021 16:10
  1. Pfizer. 40yrs. Wondered if it kicked my period cycle out as I was 4 days late which is very rare. But I have no evidence for this of course.
minipie · 10/03/2021 16:10

2 - I had the jab in the morning, fine all day, rough evening and overnight (sweats, shivers) and fine by the next day.

Cally70 · 10/03/2021 16:10

Had AZ and felt really ill for 5 days. Still got a very sore arm 10 days later

Wellbythebloodyhell · 10/03/2021 16:15

2 - AZ didn't feel ill at all but did have raised lymphnode under my armpit for a few days all fine now

ViolentFemmes · 10/03/2021 16:19

2 AZ, slightly sore arm for a few days. Ravenously hungry the evening after the jab. All OK now
