which of the following best describes your experience?

  1. You had no side effects.
  2. You had side effects, but are no longer experiencing any side effects.
  3. You are still experiencing side effects.

I know there have been lots of threads about side effects, but am hoping to create one where it's quick to pick out whether people are talking about very short-term side effects or something that lasted longer. If you're a 3, would be interesting to know which vaccine, your age, and whether you have a pre-existing medical condition which you think might have affected your body's response to the vaccine.

Had Pfizer 17th Jan. Am 54 yrs, female, good health and fitness. Absolutely no side effects - not even a sore arm. Nothing!

WiseUpJanetWeiss · 10/03/2021 20:32

Pfizer, 16 Jan. felt like I had flu for 36 hours. Swollen armpit lymph node for a few days after a week. 54, fit, no health conditions. Looking forward to the 2nd dose!

en0la · 10/03/2021 22:06

AZ.
I had the vaccine in the evening, I felt fine. The next morning I felt tired, had no appetite, and then felt hot then cold and had a constant mild headache, the next day I was fine.

knittingaddict · 10/03/2021 22:10

My husband had the AZ one and felt a little bit rough for less than 24 hours. Nothing terrible, just a bit under the weather and a headache. He has been absolutely fine since. I'm having mine on Saturday and not anticipating much in the way of side effects. I have a weekend of decorating planned.

Goneback2school · 10/03/2021 22:10

2, pfizer and had a sore arm for a few days. I'm 6 days post 2nd vaccination and the side effects were milder this time, a red, itchy patch at the injection site.

Babdoc · 10/03/2021 22:16

Pfizer, 3 weeks ago. I have been ill with long Covid for almost a year, and also have a painful frozen shoulder since my flu jab last October.
I had a sore arm at the injection site, and my frozen shoulder has become more painful, with more restricted movement. I have had a Covid relapse, with fatigue, breathlessness, night sweats and cough. However, it is impossible to know if that was going to happen anyway, as the long Covid has been flaring up every few months for the whole year.
I’m still glad I had the vaccine, as I’ve been left with damaged lungs and a restricted exercise tolerance after being hospitalised last year- another dose of Covid might have finished me off. The vaccine should give me better protection from reinfection.
