which of the following best describes your experience?

  1. You had no side effects.
  2. You had side effects, but are no longer experiencing any side effects.
  3. You are still experiencing side effects.

I know there have been lots of threads about side effects, but am hoping to create one where it's quick to pick out whether people are talking about very short-term side effects or something that lasted longer. If you're a 3, would be interesting to know which vaccine, your age, and whether you have a pre-existing medical condition which you think might have affected your body's response to the vaccine.

  1. - Pfizer. Slightly sore at injection site but no worse than any other vaccine. Infact, I was worse from my whooping cough injection when I was pregnant.
hadtojoin · 10/03/2021 23:50

2- AZ. Aching arm and under shoulder blade for 5 days and a bit tired for a week.

2bazookas · 10/03/2021 23:57

We both had pfizer, no side effects at all.

Deadringer · 11/03/2021 00:03

Not me but my dh had the pfizer one 2 weeks ago, he had no symptoms at all, he is 56. My 95 year old had the pfizer on last week and was the same, no side affects at all. Both of them have health problems, especially my mum.

LilyPond2 · 11/03/2021 00:03

Thank you to everyone who has replied. Am reading all posts with interest. Am in "Priority 9" myself, so expecting to get the chance to book a vaccination in the near future.

Not me but my dad
74 Life long diabetic - insulin -COPD -suffers from odema in his legs and a miserable bastard - but not sure what the treatment is for that 😂

General health not good but ok & managed well in that he doesn’t miss hospital and doctor appointments and lives fairly independently as we live close so do stuff general for him

Had the jab 6th Feb ( it’s the one where you have a second one )
10th of Feb - 13th Feb started to lose his mobility had 3 falls in 4 days and started to act differently .
He had not had a single fall in over 18 months despite having bad mobility and using a Walker in the house and other aids .

Friday 12th Feb the arm that had the jab became swollen & seriously numb and non stop tremors in the hand .
Couldn’t hold a cup or a pen or do up his shirt.
Shivering but also hot and clammy and his speech was slurring

14th Feb called an ambulance and taken to hospital
15th Feb start of chest infection that turned into Pneumonia
Insulin levels while in hospital as high as 35 and as low as 3.5
Numerous test in hospitals including a test for a stroke which came back clear
He is still in hospital today so 4 weeks on Sunday insulin levels are still erratic better than they were but it’s the main reason they are keeping him in at the moment

My dads not had Covid at all so far and his test while in hospital have all been negative
Until he had the jab he was fine in the sense that he was doing ok with his mobility and diabetes & copd

He isn’t a smoker or a drinker either

I had the pfizer, sore arm at the injection site, and I felt very cold in the evening, tired. Went to bed early, and was fine on the morning.

mylobster · 11/03/2021 02:54
  1. Had Pfizer on the Wednesday, arm hurt for a few days like it was dead and bruised at the same time. Felt like I had the flu for a few days but was ok again on the Monday.

I felt sick quickly though, quicker than I expected. I had it at 6pm
And was in bed at 8.30pm with a temp but I might also have been unwell that day as it was very fast. So who knows!

nonstopchanging · 11/03/2021 10:36

3 Pfizer still feeling chilly, period over a week late and still MIA (seems to have been mentioned by other people who got Pfizer)...

HildegardNightingale · 11/03/2021 13:02

Had AZ 5 weeks ago. Slight headache which went with paracetamol.
DH had AZ 3 weeks ago. Had temp and headache which was dealt with by taking paracetamol.

Mrsorganmorgan · 11/03/2021 17:24

Pfizer 1.

2nd vaccine on Saturday

LilyPond2 · 12/03/2021 18:39

I have totted up the responses so far. For consistency, I counted anyone who mentioned a sore arm as a 2 (even if very mild and only symptom). I included responses which included details relating to people other than the poster.

In total I make the responses:
1 (no side effects, not even a sore arm): 37
2 (any side effect mentioned including sore arm, but side effects have now ceased): 87
3 (still experiencing side effects more than 2 weeks after first dose): 7

For those whose posts said that it was the Pfizer vaccine, I make the numbers:
1 20
2 16
3 4

OP posts:

1

NuclearDH · 12/03/2021 18:45

1 and it was pzifer

NuclearDH · 12/03/2021 18:46

Oh if we are counting sore arms make me a 2!

gracefull · 12/03/2021 18:48

2

LilyPond2 · 12/03/2021 18:50

For posters who said it was AZ, I make the numbers:
1 17
2 37
3 2

NB The AZ and Pfizer figures added together are less than the totals because not everyone specified which vaccine.

Still interested in any more respones.

Pfizer 3 weeks ago.

  1. Absolutely no after effects.
Ragwort · 12/03/2021 18:58
  1. Pfizer

(DH had AZ and mild flu like symptoms 24 hours after the vaccine, then fine after a night's rest).
