which of the following best describes your experience?

  1. You had no side effects.
  2. You had side effects, but are no longer experiencing any side effects.
  3. You are still experiencing side effects.

I know there have been lots of threads about side effects, but am hoping to create one where it's quick to pick out whether people are talking about very short-term side effects or something that lasted longer. If you're a 3, would be interesting to know which vaccine, your age, and whether you have a pre-existing medical condition which you think might have affected your body's response to the vaccine.

  1. No issues other than a slight arm ache the next day. Same applies for my parents, my in laws, BIL, 3 x aunts and one uncle. Oh and 3 x friends in their 40’s with asthma.

I had AZ a month ago. Had side effects bad enough to need several days off work, but fine after a week or.

Duckyneedsaclean · 10/03/2021 22:32

2 - AZ. Had jab at 11, then a fever that evening. At work in the morning as usual.

Rarotonga2 · 10/03/2021 22:35

2 - I had a sore, achey arm which then spread a bit in my body (weird sensation). Then it went away after a couple of days and have been fine since. I had the Pfizer vaccine.

CuriouslyStardust · 10/03/2021 22:37

2/3 I had AZ, I'm early 30's with diabetes plus some underlying stuff.
I was ill for 7 days - very high fever on the night to the point of being delirious, aches, chills, fatigue, sickness & nausea. I felt absolutely awful and now dreading my second dose.
About 2 weeks on I'm pretty much over it but my arm still has a slightly ache feel to it at times.

RoseMartha · 10/03/2021 22:38

Had AZ just over two weeks ago. Had various side effects first few days, which most people seemed to have had also,

But I was unfortunate to get the itchy rash on a large percentage of my body.
Had to call GP twice.

Second time they insisted I went to the surgery where they have told me that the vaccine has triggered eczema.

Been quite expensive as first gp consult they prescribed anti itch stuff now I have steroid cream for eczema.

I am hoping the eczema is not going to be a long term thing. I am waking in the night scratching and apart from my arms looking a mess now with eczema scabs I keep bleeding all in the bed! 🙄

pandora206 · 10/03/2021 22:38

AZ four weeks ago. Sore arm (onset after a couple of hours - I didn't feel the jab) for about two days. All fine since.

Mine will be 2 weeks tomorrow. 2 most closely describes my experience & I had AZ.

40somethingJBJ · 10/03/2021 22:40
  1. 12 hours after the jab, I started shivering, then I was so hot I was wringing with sweat, then woke up feeling like I had the worst hangover ever. All fine though after 24 hours. I’m planning to have a day of doing absolutely nothing after my 2nd one in May.
Snorlaxx · 10/03/2021 22:44
  1. Pfizer

Painful/dead arm for a couple of days. Difficult to pick out anything else as I suffer from frequent headaches and fatigue anyway.

Dinky2004 · 10/03/2021 22:46
  1. 44 with type 1 diabetes pfizer vaccine
Slight sore arm for a day but nothing else

BackforGood · 10/03/2021 23:21

Nothing, Zilch. Absolute zero.
Not even a slightly sore or tender arm, for any length of time or at any stage.

I'm mid 50s and had AZ
No underlying conditions.
