which of the following best describes your experience?

  1. You had no side effects.
  2. You had side effects, but are no longer experiencing any side effects.
  3. You are still experiencing side effects.

I know there have been lots of threads about side effects, but am hoping to create one where it's quick to pick out whether people are talking about very short-term side effects or something that lasted longer. If you're a 3, would be interesting to know which vaccine, your age, and whether you have a pre-existing medical condition which you think might have affected your body's response to the vaccine.

  1. I got the AZ one and had a horrible headache for two days after with a bit of nausea. My arm was a bit achy for the following 2/3 days but otherwise I’m all good!

  1. Had AZ

1/2. Pfizer. Just a slightly sore arm at the site of injection for a few hours. Took a painkiller as a precaution and slept it off.

LizzieSiddal · 13/03/2021 06:58

Lily the Zoe app had very informative analysis of the all data they have collected re side effects of the vaccines. I will try to find it for you.

@Grinch48 Both AstraZeneca and Pfizer jabs are two doses, so do you know which one your dad had? We are interested as DP is medical researcher but we are v concerned about the types of adverse effects emerging with the vaccines, notably the blood clots which have led about 10 nations to suspend use of the AZ vaccine.

3 - I had the Astrazeneca first dose 16 days ago and began feeling nauseated, achy, headache, pain left flank/above hip, abdominal pain, dizziness, reduced appetite, lethargy and sore arm. All lasted approx 1 week then faded except my arm which was still very swollen and red.
2 days ago my arm redness spread and I have bruising now and it has coincided with the return of the original symptoms over last night and today. I was beginning to think there was something wrong with me that they had come back.
I'm 46 with no underlying health concerns although I am a little overweight.
There is no way I've caught anything either as we are incredibly strict and have had no contact with anyone and all in my household are fine and well. The kids aren't even back in school yet.

2/3, had AZ about 4 weeks ago, age 55, have underlying health issues (shielded category). Had jab Fri lunch felt ok until mid morn on Sat then started with headaches, chills, shivers (flu like symptoms) so went to bed for awhile). Symptoms lessened considerably the following day. But have noticed my sense of smell seems more heightened since. I have also had a lot of headaches and chills on and off ever since the jab (not as bad as immediately afterwards).

Hiya, on that day, I had my jab about 1pm and by teatime I had a mild headache and had all of the symptoms I mentioned from that night onwards and they lasted a good 5 days and began to ease off the next couple of days.
Then up until a week later I was ok generally. Maybe a bit more tired than usual but was almost back to normal but my arm was still really swollen.
On Thursday there it got more red again and it seemed to coincide with the symptoms coming back full force.
It has eased a good bit today and I'm hoping that's it. My arm isn't as firey either although looks pretty bruised and the lump is much smaller too.
I read somewhere yesterday that some expert had said you could get reactions up to a couple of months afterwards although not as common.
I had some friends recommend I call out of hours for advice but they would have advised me to book a test likely and I'm pretty certain I haven't picked anything up as we've been absolutely nowhere and my kids are still not back in school yet and I am a bit better today and have no other signs of anything.
