Mam of a 9 year old so obviously invested in schools return plans

GCSE teacher in a college so very invested in the exams farce

Our lateral flow testing plan is already a farce so hoping for more than 'test them if you can'

Meant to be getting married in July (postponed from last summer) so wondering about that too - although already accepted that we'll not be having the wedding piss up we planned

Are you watching for general reasons or specifics?

I want to be able to go for a walk with DH, DS and my parents ASAP. I’d also like to know when I might be able to have a haircut.

barbedwired · 21/02/2021 19:22

I want to open my shop, and I'm pissed off that the sainsburys over the road sells the so called 'non essentials' whilst I have to keep the doors shut.
Yes, I'm online but it doesn't make up for people coming instore AND I'd be a safer environment than the free for all in the sainsburys

And BREATHE...........

MarshaBradyo · 21/02/2021 19:24

Mostly schools - whether back on 8th

Also re opening of shops / restaurants

Some meeting up outside with people

MarshaBradyo · 21/02/2021 19:25

And hairdressers - need a haircut

whenwillthemadnessend · 21/02/2021 19:25

Self catering, allowed to travel for exercise/day trips and meeting up outside in private gardens would be a win for me but schools being the most important

tinkywinkyshandbag · 21/02/2021 19:33

Not fussed about schools but would like my teen DDs (college and uni) to actually have a life. Just simple things like be able to see friends. Maybe have a boyfriend.

I'd like to be able to see my friends too even if only outside. I want to be able to visit my Mum who lives abroad and I haven't seen for 18 months.

bathsh3ba · 21/02/2021 19:33

Schools - hoping my Y7 and Y8 DDs can go back before Easter.

Universities - currently finishing my PhD and really hope we can do in person vivas by the end of this.

International travel- I have my first conference this summer abroad and really hoping it doesn't have to be virtual.

zafferana · 21/02/2021 19:34

Hoping for:

  • All DC back to school on 8th March
  • DC's outdoor sports allowed
  • Adults allowed to do SD sports like tennis, golf, running
  • Two families allowed to meet outdoors (hopefully not the stupid and annoying rule of 6)
  • And a date in the not too distant future for hairdressers and non-essential shops

I want news about schools - apart from my kids it's going to be impossible to find another job in a school if they're all on rotas.

I want to know if we can go to Cornwall at Easter. Been booked and changed 3 times. If we can't go this time I'm giving it up. And I want to have a cup of tea in my mum's house. They've had the vaccine back at the beginning of Jan, I've just had it so will wait three weeks but after that I'm going in!

Roselilly36 · 21/02/2021 20:00

I won’t bother to watch the conference, bored stiff of them, will catch up the summary the next day.

poppycat10 · 21/02/2021 20:46

Hairdressers (more for DH than me, I can cut my fringe and let the back get steadily longer).

Driving lessons/tests, currently ds has a date for June - we will see.

When will 6th form colleges be allowed back - will they be treated differently to secondary schools (not holding my breath).

The Sunday Times said today that the rule of 6 will be back but also two households. Not until the end of March though and only outdoors.

Ineedaduvetday · 22/02/2021 06:40

Desperate for the gyms to open.

Blacktothepink · 22/02/2021 06:42

I’ll be playing Boris Bingo

Northernsoulgirl45 · 22/02/2021 10:22

Schools for my children which in turn should reduce Face to face therapy for my child.
Like everyone want to see family members.
Really want to get back to swimming too

Northernsoulgirl45 · 22/02/2021 10:22

Not reduce. Reinstate

wildchild554 · 22/02/2021 17:25

I won't be watching, I know school will tell us anyway about anything relevant to us regarding schools.

Hushhush89 · 22/02/2021 17:49

Already been confirmed schools in uk open to all on 8th March

@Dustyboots

I want them to call off lockdown completely.

I realise this won’t happen. I don’t think it’s the ‘answer’ either. But I don’t think lockdown is a solution to sorting out Covid. It’s a waste of time life and money.

Kids to be able to go back to school; their education and futures will carry the brunt of COVID(obviously with the exclusion of the many who have lost lives/loved ones)

Kids to get back to playing squash; they've really missed out on not being able to play competitively and I suspect that they may never get back the opportunities they've lost.

Being able to meet up with friends for coffee and a gas. Even just sitting in the garden will do.

Being able to meet up with my favourite uncle.

Just to be able to relax with friends. Somewhere other than in this house.

Going out for a meal. We haven't been out for a meal since last Feb. I know everything was open in the summer but it seemed like madness to us so we opted not to.

Boymum123 · 22/02/2021 21:40

I just want to travel abroad to see my parents and siblings-been over a year since I've seen any of them.. feeling too long now.

lljkk · 22/02/2021 21:53

I didn't watch because I wanted to go do something else & there's no value in me getting the information in a hurry.

My (swim pool) leisure centre is asking if we would donate extra month of membership fees to help keep them afloat; I would do that one month but not multiple... problem is the leisure centre opened up 5 weeks after first allowed, in 2020. I wonder when they will really open again in 2021. I wish the press conference would tell me what my swim pool centre is going to do.
