Annoyed by order of vaccine rollout

My mum has missed out on being included in the over 65 group by a few months. People ahead of her include those with self inflicted conditions (such as my morbidly obese cousin) and carers. Anyone else annoyed by the order of the groupings ?

OP posts:

All i can say is, roll on my 2nd jab Smile

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 16/02/2021 20:22

Some people manage to find the negative in everything, are you a moaning whiner about everything OP?

Vivana · 16/02/2021 20:24

Roll on my 2nd jab to Smile

WouldstrokeTomHardy · 16/02/2021 20:25

Erm moderate asthmatic here. We've been binned to the back of the queue as per our age group. Literally removed from group 6. I'm miffed but it's tough titties. Not sure what's happening where you are but over 65s started being done here last week. My DM has had hers.

DarceyDashwood · 16/02/2021 20:25

We can see what side some of these posters would have been on in The Hunger Games can’t we. Fuck me some people are unpleasant!

partyatthepalace · 16/02/2021 20:26

No

The goal of the vaccine programme is to reduce the burden on the NHS, so the most effective thing to do is to vaccinate people in order of vulnerability. It’s the safest thing for all of us. It is not about a reward for anyone. If your mother needed to be in a higher category she would be.

Your post gives the impression you don’t understand how a vaccine programme works, so I’d suggest you watch or read a decent news source rather than embarrassing yourself writing rubbish like this.

DavidsSchitt · 16/02/2021 20:27

I'm glad your mum is healthy at her age. That's great news Smile

WouldstrokeTomHardy · 16/02/2021 20:27

Sorry. If she's just under than can she not look at it as she will get it sooner than over 60s. That's how I'm looking at it. I'm 45 in a few weeks

turnthebiglightoff · 16/02/2021 20:27

Oh I didn't realise that being a carer was a "self inflicted" thing. What a lazy arrogant bunch of pricks carers are.

Fuck off OP.

MrsTerryPratchett · 16/02/2021 20:29

Clearly this is soon to be deleted as goady bollocks.

But I'm loving the responses!

dinglehopper1 · 16/02/2021 20:30

Nope

dementedpixie · 16/02/2021 20:30

OP didn't say Carers were self inflicted. It has been read wrongly. It was just the fat people that had self inflicted conditions.

dinglehopper1 · 16/02/2021 20:31

didn't expect carers to appear on the bingo card!

WouldstrokeTomHardy · 16/02/2021 20:32

I meant under 60 obviously

vodkaredbullgirl · 16/02/2021 20:32

Waiting for a full house.

mineofuselessinformation · 16/02/2021 20:32

Another one of those goady threads where the OP posts and then isn't back again....
Hmm

Sirzy · 16/02/2021 20:32

I agree she didn’t, BUT the fact she even thought to bring that into the argument doesn’t reflect well
Spikeyball · 16/02/2021 20:33

I'd rather be in my age vaccine group than my clinically vulnerable teenager have a profound disabilities that mean if I get ill he will have to go into residential care. Why not be grateful you are not in this position.

BlackberrySky · 16/02/2021 20:34

Err..... OP seems to be annoyed at the nature of cut-offs, which is that someone is always at the fringes of it. Your irritation appears to be that your mum misses out by a few weeks. How else do you think cut-offs would work?

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 16/02/2021 20:39

I agree she didn’t, BUT the fact she even thought to bring that into the argument doesn’t reflect well

This.
she clearly thinks carers should be moved further down the list or she wouldn’t have mentioned it.

My mum is a career and got hers. ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️ ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Morph2lcfc · 16/02/2021 20:41

How is being a carer a self inflicted condition?

LolaSmiles · 16/02/2021 20:43

The point of prioritising the vaccine is to prevent the NHS being overwhelmed by those who are more likely to be critically ill.
Giving someone a vaccine is to support the overall management of the crisis for the benefit of society. It has nothing to do with whether an individual deserves or doesn't deserve the vaccine (if that's your warped way of thinking).

dementedpixie · 16/02/2021 20:43

@Morph2lcfc

How is being a carer a self inflicted condition?
It doesn't say that.

It says self inflicted conditions (such as my morbidly obese cousin) and carers.

The bit in brackets is the example of a self inflicted condition

Thurlow · 16/02/2021 20:46

Yes, but only because there are still frontline workers who haven't had the jab. Its shocking that police officers haven't had one yet.
